A soft misty intro, moulded to a minimalism sequence which is dandleling shyly on its crystalline keys and a synth to fine mellotron layers. Gently we are hypnotized by this slow ambient procession which becomes animating under beautiful intersected sequences that progress on a beautiful undulating bass line and of synths to the angelica radiances. Alluste Constellation opens the path to an amazing 1st opus from a newcomer in the EM scene.
Strongly influenced of a romantic Berlin School Alluste is impregnated by the works of such great names as Klaus Schulze, Spyra and Remy. Kaldyuis is the eloquent example. A long title initiated by a sensual and appealing bass which trails its soul in a ethereal environment where mellotron flute and celestial choirs amalgamate in an astral nebulosity as lyric as poetic. A fine sequence marries the bass movement, drawing a sensual pleasure which grows in an atonal hypnosis. Around the 8th minute, a bass sequence gallops delicately in a synthesized circle which shells its keys in a cosmic corridor. Another sequence, more nervous, encircles this movement which becomes nevrotic and swarms with an ambiguous animation in the shade of the cymbals and dactylographed percussions. Cosmic bubble to multiple synthesized layers, Acul starts also slowly. A solitary synth blows off odes as symphonic as eclectic in an iridescent serial universe of superb flutes breaths enchanters. A delicate bass sequence is grafted with this loneliness flute and gently Acul becomes animated of twist sequences which grow on more insistent percussions and a sequenced melody which gets out of this unforeseeable cosmic nothingness. Adjusting itself to the moulding cosmic waves which furrow its intro, Lasesias whirls in a sea of sequences as percussive as turbulent which recall the cosmic movements of Jean Michel Jarre on les Chants Magnétiques. A track animated of a complex life where peal arpeggios roll in the opposite direction of the minimalist sequences in this musical galactic décor stuffed of fine synthesized layers which circle in a rather harmonious frenzy. Tafesani encloses on a beautiful girdled ambient ode girdled by a suave mellotron synth and a fine sequential movement as hypnotic as lyric, such cosmic ballet with infinite circles. For a 1st opus, Alluste soaks in an incredible sensitivity. A work tinted of an endemic romantic and nostalgia which points out the first works of a capricious and untameable EM which found comprehension in the refuge of the wandering recluses. A beautiful album which deserves amply its discovery. The Sequences, Rhythms and melodies are all superb and go together to make a powerful album that will make you want to punch the air in pure joy.
Like any good EM album, black winds blow and murmur on the desert intro of the title-track. It's an obligatory preamble in order to wake up the first chords of a heavy sequencer which makes vacillate its harmonic axis with strength in a rhythmic pattern as heavy than zigzagging. A soft filet of a harmonious synth spreads a spectral melody which floats such as some digital incense on a rhythm which stores another line of sequences whose circular movement is flooded by the arrival of the resonant keyboard riffs. Heavy and undulatory, the rhythm of "Boards of Stringana" offers two contradictory themes with a line finely jerked which borders a furtive movement where each step seems precarious, adopting so a melodious approach of which the evasive reflections are its own mirror while that the atmospheres always stay of an astral cloudiness. These structures and these movements of sequences with perpetual movements are the strength of this last opus from the Italian synthman. If the title-track divides its rhythm, such as the serpents on the head of Medusa, in other rhythmic segments, the same goes for tracks as "Lost in the Tunnel", and its approach of passionate rodeo which bursts in a powerful maelstrom of sequences, and the very somber "Wavetable Dreams" which charms with its Arabian harmonies. After a storm of hollow winds, "Elektro Scape" moves on a dislocated rhythm with sequences in the lively oscillations. Centered on this rhythmic structure, the track is overhung by a delicate line of synth and its confused harmonies while that the electronic percussions cut a curter, more nervous rhythm which brushes the robotics paces of Kraftwerk. Another tempest, this time of gurgling and of mystic thunders rolling in a psybient universe, introduced a 2nd more cheerful and clearly more harmonious part with synths which sing some catchy electronic hymns. The psybient atmospheres add a depth of unusual cloudiness on this last opus from the Italian synthesist. On "Diamonds in the Sky" they cover a delicate electronic ballad which espouses the lascivious undulation of a bass line of which the chords are drummed in the sparklings of a line of sequences and of its ions jumping into the circle of their echoes. Nervous jingles accompany this oniric procession which dresses in a cloud of Mellotron mist and threatening black reverberations, while sequences subdivide their shadows by skipping fervently in the shades of their circles. "Quantum Reality" offers a heavy intro made up by a somber ambience of despair where blow the black angels on embryonic movements. The rhythmic structure pierces these intense winds after more than two minutes of cosmic storm, offering a rhythm which cavorts of its bass pulsations and of its twinkling sequences before of calcify in a minimalist approaches which smothers under these winds and mists of Orion and these breaths lost by a synth which also frees brief and harmonious solos. Fed by impulsive keys which skip on the spot, "Pulse my Head" offers a rhythmic ride under a sky slain by resounding clouds. The sequences are both dark and limpid. They skip and jump side by side, respecting their forms and their colors in an electronic painting more than sombre. "It will not be the Same as Before" ends “Boards of Stringana” with a beautiful lunar ballad. The rhythm beats with the poetic sweetness of its sequences and percussions which tumble down such as a rhythmic carpet under the harmonies of a synth, clearly more visible here than somewhere else on this last album of Alluste, of which the dreamy solos lead us to the last black breath of “Boards of Stringana”. Working inside his rhythmic parameters which boil of very similar structures, “Boards of Stringana” becomes an intense monument of hypnotic movements forged in sequences which divide its rhythms and draw its harmonies in a much darker musical pattern of what Alluste has offered in the past. Realized by Piero Monachello, under the name Alluste, it feeds us a fresh dispatch from this ever expanding strand of Electronic Music. What elevates Dark Energy above an average cosmic drift is the obvious joy with which Monachello imbues his work. Profound wonderings, among the stars, synthesizers and the listener's psyche, produces music that is experienced equally by way of the senses and the psychological. Neatly built throbbing sequencer exercises provide a hurtling onrushing quality. As electronic harmonies rise and fall, in light and dark tones, an unexpected beauty emerges. This music may portray the enigmatic cool of the deep space traveler, but all the while it never ceases to generate heat. Warped out echoing chords break down in pulsing arpeggio blips as suspended strings detail a build up of charge. Slow melodies hold forth above a venting sonic mass, while chiming patterns cycle and peal out alongside animated keyboard leads. Dark Energy, rich with detail, rewards close and prolonged regard. It asks for a mode of attention that is closer to that of listening to poetry, than the common cursory scanning fostered by the clicking and swiping of smart phones and social media. As Alluste his sequencers fire like the neurological mechanisms behind the mind's functioning, and help better align thought and mood toward a more positive current. His Alien Worlds (61'18") may be based on the 1970s Berlin-School, but it narrates from the present. Each work emerges and develops as in a slow gathering of hot blood. Still marveling at the beauty of synthetic sounds, the veteran Monachello sparks reactions and arouses emotions across eight tracks of brain beat Spacemusic. One does not listen to this music so much as drift into it. In a swirl of throwback synthesizers a tumbling latticework of echoing arpeggio notes dance along scales of nocturnal minor key chords. Lush harmonies sigh and whisper their celestial concord, as piano keys play out dramatically under digital reverberation. Full string sections may add warmth and fullness to one composition, as quickly as an ethereal vocal will leave us in a trackless void on another. Animated by the power of melody to convey emotions Alien Worlds stands strong against the harshness and cynicism that tears at the fabric of our world - and reminds us that we all still have our own feelings, questions and fears. While being all instrumental, Alien Worlds somehow manages to speak in a human vocabulary - requiring us to be beholden to something other than our own opinion. Under the name Alluste he realizes a vivid Electronic Music that reaches a place within us where spoken words do not. Noting that Spacemusic is the only language able to contain his creative aspirations, the album Aludra (70'57") presents 10 tracks of incremental complexity. Quite comfortable to take in, it provides a soundtrack to new electronic destinations - and the wonderful realm outside of everything else. Aldura spends its tight, polished energy in climactic chords expanding above an arpeggio of fluttering notes - swirling together in a circulation of synthetic sound. While shifting sequencer patterns run through a series of imaginative progressions, heart-felt lead lines unfurl in a rising ribbon of melody. As if upon the workings of some powerful engine layers of bounding electro-blips thicken and brighten in echoing syncopation. The direction of the melody is forward, with every blissful resolution pointing to the bright future this work promises - and the optimism that is its most potent feature. Listeners to Aludra should know that they are going into a realm that is different from that of the everyday. As we enter this world of our own making we must trust ourselves with this music, and our ability to make something interesting, something worthwhile, something comforting, something better than where we are now.

It’s a pleasure to meet today in Italy new disciples of the cosmic couriers such as Piero Monachello aka ALLUSTE, who has offered his interpretation of the classic EM style in numerous albums composed from 2008 to date. Piero learns from the masters (Jean Michael Jarre, Vangelis, Tangerine Dream, Ashra...), but reworks their music with originality and personality, through an all-Italian sensibility: in Alluste's songs you can in fact perceive the bittersweet melodies typical of Italo-disco and the Mediterranean atmosphere of the great songwriter Pino Mango, one of the most refined and original representatives of Italian pop music of the 80s and 90s. Alluste's music takes us to melancholic desert beaches, torrid unreal scenarios where the horizon is eternally blue and infinite, scenarios that bring to mind the stories of James G.
