Initially releasing electro synth music or what could even be called proto EBM music as "Absolute Body Control" with Dirk Ivens all the way back in 1981 in Belgium.
Eric & Dirk a few years later would both go on to form one of Europe's most legendary EBM acts of all time "The Klinik" along with Marc Verhaegen and Sandy Nys. Eric would depart Klinik after the second album and would form another well respected EBM project with Mario Vaerewijck called "Insekt" on legendary Belgian label KK Records.
Enter the mid 90's , Eric would go on to start a new project entitled Monolith.
This a departure from his EBM signature and heading into the industrial rhythmic noise territory but with a nice mixture of gritty techno.
During the same period Eric would also team up again with Dirk for "Sonar" , another killer rhythmic noise act a bit harder then Monolith. Into the early 2000's a very tight bond was formed between Eric and Sonic Groove's Adam X.
Sonic Groove would highlight Monolith's cult classic rhythmic noise track, "Disco Buddah" on the various artists "Europa Power Electron Industries" EP back in 2004.

Dating back to the start of the 1980's, Eric started off as the composer for legendary minimal synth act Absolute Body Control alongside lyricist Dirk Ivens. In 1984 Absolute Body Control would join forces with Marc Verhaegen and Sandy Njis. The band would change musical direction, veering into much darker and more experimental-driven industrial territories, altering their band name to Absolute Controlled Clinical Maniacs and soon settling on shortened version "The Klinik". The Klinik would explode on the underground electronic industrial scene in mainland Europe throughout the 80's and would go on to be recognized as one of the all time most influential acts from the European industrial/EBM scene. Eric left The Klinik in the late '80's and would form another highly respected Belgium EBM band with vocalist and drummer Mario Vaerewijck, "Insekt". The band would go on to release several albums and singles throughout the late 80's into the mid 90's on the famed KK Records imprint.During the early to mid 90's a new industrial sound with an emphasis on heavily distorted drums and percussions would emerge under the name "rhythmic noise". Eric, at the forefront of this sound, would soon create his solo artist project "Monolith", releasing the full length "Compressed Form" in 1997 on his old partner Dirk Iven's Daft imprint. Eric would then also take up position in "Sonar" a very popular rhythmic noise project helmed by Dirk Iven's. If not already having his hands full with both projects, Eric and Dirk, driven by the popular demand arising from the resurgence of minimal synth music, would go on to reactivate the legendary Absolute Body Control in the early 2000's. Eric continues to be highly active in the industrial/EBM/minimal synth music scene, playing major events and festivals, the likes of Mera Luna, Wave Gotik Treffen and Maschinenfest and regularly traveling around the globe to perform as part of one of the many projects he is involved in. In 2003 Eric became close friends with techno producer and label owner Adam X of Sonic Groove Records. A bond was formed and over the years, they have both released music on the other's respective label. In the past years, the techno scene has taken a strong interest in industrial music and with Adam being one of the very first pioneers of the merging between both genres on Sonic Groove and Eric being one of the top innovators of the industrial rhythmic, forces are now joined for the second time in two years with the new Monolith release, "Time Running Out". "Time Running Out" is cutting edge, post contemporary industrial-techno music with highly percussive drum programming and infectious sound design set to overrun dance floors. Besides his busy production schedule, Eric also works as a highly skilled mastering engineering for many a famous industrial/EBM acts as well as for classic 90' Belgium techno labels like R&S and Re-Load. The Panacea is no stranger to the world of Techno as some may suspect, his command of the Position Chrome record label came from his close relationship with Force Inc. Music Works which was one of the earliest German record labels to fuel the underground techno/rave scenes in the early 90’s. Since Position Chrome came under his guidance in 1997 it has become one of the most important labels in electronic music due to it’s integrity and an impressive release of quality music for it’s genre. More recently, he has been investigating the techno landscape with David Frisch together known as New Frames, their latest release on Hands Productions is essential for those interested in contemporary electronic music of the dark techno/industrial kind. "When I released my first record in 1997, after having listened to electronic music since '91, I was in no way prepared for the journey I embarked on. I have been able to perform to audiences that love what I do for 20 years now and my label positionchrome is being supported by devoted fans up to this day. Electronic music in the early nineties was to me, like many others of my generation, a way of living, more than just a sub-genre or trend. Naturally, I tried to take in as much of it as possible. I went to raves where House DJs did the warm up, followed by a dutch or german Gabber live-show, and Jeff Mills, Lenny Dee or international talent of the same status. A UK-based or homegrown breakbeat hardcore DJ like Mickey Finn or DJ Tanith could conclude the night. There was no such thing as sub-genre separation. I went on to listen and buy techno records until the rise of so-called „minimal techno“ in the mid 2000’s. When I started to go record shopping at NYC’s Sonic Groove Records, the last thing I imagined, was one day working with owner and prominent techno-pioneer Adam X. Shrouded in mystery, there is one thing known about her, she’s a wizard with the hardware driven by some fierce passion for the music. After having toured across the country on her own, she released a 12" EP with the highly-respected Detroit Underground. Now she is ready to bring her work to the next level with a hard-hitting EP that epitomizes her sound on Adam X's legendary Sonic Groove label. The label, of course, is known for delivering some of the hardest and intricate records in EBM and industrial, having releases from Rebekah, Dasha Rush, and Orphx. "Against His Will" opens with the uncompromising 'Illusion' and its all-out destructive energy. Industrious and unforgiving synths dominate this cut, while a riff shifts in and out of chaos. The unrelenting percussion almost calls out like demons, as if you're making your way down the river Styx, but instead of a boat, you're on a mechanical conveyor belt. Tasked with the difficult job of following that opener is 'Limited Hangout' which ends up proving as powerful as the first. A bit more punchy, this track has more body to it, the percussion is enchanting, and through all the chaos you will be dancing and stomping. Next up is 'Special Report' in an attempt to tame and focus the disarray. The track has less overall unpredictable texture, and more EBM flared body banging beats. Still an absolute powerhouse, it uses door-pounding percussion to drive it along with modulated synths and riffs generating a menacing presence. 'Alchemy' brings the proceedings to a close. The textured cut is a slow down to things. Well-thought-out and more EBM than industrial, it demonstrates Maedon’s dynamic range of skills. Rhythmic drum patterns sway the beat while swirling and electric modulations percolate and oscillate throughout. Adam X soon became a co-owner and by 1995 the shop was relocated to Manhattan, with Heather Heart rounding out the trio. The new shop was called “Sonic Groove” and it quickly became ground zero for techno in New York City. There was nothing like it in the area at the time or, arguably, anywhere in America. Sonic Groove was 110% dedicated to techno, a genre that was just past its infancy and exploding worldwide. A community emerged around the shop and thus the label was spawned. Adam X had an agenda from the very beginning as label curator (and eventually sole owner): to release some of the most forward thinking underground techno music around. Realizing that goal was no easy feat, considering the volume of records being released at the time in a fast-paced and growing scene. Fast-forward 25 years. Adam X and Sonic Groove are still at the forefront of modern underground techno, sticking to the same ethos and pushing the envelope further into the future. The faces and sounds may have changed, but the label has kept true to the vision. In an era now dominated by image, style, and trivial content, Sonic Groove continues its mission of putting the music first and foremost. Now in celebration of 25 years, Sonic Groove releases a muscular 12 song compilation of previously unreleased music comprised from the label's current artist roster. It is truly special. Here, menacing towers of an abandoned factory reach into the tarry ebon void, embracing the eerie atmosphere. It was once known as VEB Chemiework Rüdersdorf; a chemical manufacturing center for farming phosphates in the late 1800s and later repurposed for the manufacture of Vauxite during the second world war. The vast area of gigantic factory buildings is filled with decaying cement structures and is usually deserted and quiet. But not tonight. On this particular night, wild, untamed acidic tones of underground Brooklyn acid techno penetrate perfectly. Soon the irresistible sound waves bring to life whatever ghosts remain here. It was dubbed a “music research mission” put together by the nonconformist Sonic Groove Records label. It was the summer of 2020; in the middle of one of the more chaotic years in planet Earth’s recent history. With the planet’s entire population in Covid lockdown and absolutely menaced by a collective fear of the unknown; DJ Adam X was on a mission, inspired to provide an appropriate soundtrack for the setting. Accompanied by fellow artists Maedon, Reade Truth, and Sarin, what followed was a night of magic, as they re-experienced beloved timeless 90s era acid tracks. The massive monolithic buildings served as the perfect backdrop; a stationary frame for an unexpectedly active sky complete with flaming meteors, suspicious satellites, and potential UFOs. This intense nocturnal experience provided the inspiration for Adam X’s latest release; “Rüdersdorf” a modern take on his trademark acid sounds. Simultaneously mechanical and soul-felt, the LP is full of brain-numbing techno excursions, layered heavily with intense TB303 patterns that slowly dissolve and melt your brain. This is where the acid underground takes charge, providing the flawless soundtrack for the unknown. Hard, challenging grooves for these challenging times. Close your eyes, and visions of Chemiework slip into focus. The experience makes you wonder: Do we have a future? This is music that works the body and captures the mind. It's her 3rd release for the imprint, following up 2020’s “Escape to Berlin” and 2019’s “Against His Will” EP. Maedon crafts some very melodic jams, with refreshing song structure and storytelling trips achieved through excellent sample work and programming prowress. Make no mistake, this is fighting music. It's blazing hard, with grueling energy, and a flair for the dramatic. Maedon likes relevant content, as tracks like “Rave-Act Never Forget” expose pathetic pledges from poser politicians who have dared to protest against the dance music scene in their past. You have been exposed Biden. The madness continues with the menacing “Destroyer of Worlds”, a massive rave jam with otherworldly synths based around the words of a certain man’s famously guilty post-atomic quote from the Hindu scripture known as the Bhagavad Gita. It's a reminder of your sins, Oppenheimer. The selection continues to concoct clever experiments with pressure and feels at times like riding a roller coaster thru outer space “Destroy the Status Quo” with subtly pitch-shifting metallic highs and ravey tone-work captivates the mind as gravity drops jerk the body into uncontrollable motion. “Rudersdorf Trip” is a sick adventure into the darkness, with whispered vocals ‘this is what you want this what you need’ leading the charge of hypnotic, spiraling acid. “Childhood dreams” is an excellent ending to the LP, an innovative melodic charmer with nostalgic future vibes pumped up by a broken techno beat. In truth, all the tracks stand out; a solid effort from start to finish. It serves as a lesson in production for her peers. She enjoys the process, creating a chance for all to dance away their pain. The founder of the London based collective Under My Feet. debuts on Sonic Groove with an immaterial journey contemplating suffering, liberation, the importance of affection and unity. This ambient album reveals a hidden connection between these human emotions. From anger and rejection, to love and unity, the sounds explored by the artist represent a recent journey within. Recollections of distant memories are expressed with nostalgic sounds; by contrast, darker tracks are symbolic of those moments when it is more difficult to accept reality for what it is. Ireen expresses in this album that there wouldn't be any joy without suffering. Sounds created out of emotions that cannot be spoken. Beats that pulse out of gestures that can no longer be performed. Tones that screech out of bodies that can no longer be human. Echoes of all unspoken words reverb into the wounds of time; that constant ebb and flow of existence; that relentless stomping of exchanges. The slur of life is now noise - she collects its torn pieces with her bare hands and holds them close to her pounding flesh.
