Passenger S refurbished one of the best known songs in the world to fit his electronic world and turned it into ‘Jingle Pop’. An electronic makeover filled with the typical 808 DOT POP analogue and sequenced sounds, sweet melodies, mesmerizing chants and playful rhythms. ‘Jingle Pop’ is a way to send 808 seasonal greetings to all people digging vintage electronic music, a gem to enjoy sitting under the Christmas tree. released December 20, 2019

Emerging from an uncontrollable burning passion for vintage sounds, and acknowledging inspiration from acts in the likes of ORBITAL, KOMPUTER or the unmatched technological pioneers of KRAFTWERK, 808 DOT POP will guide the listener on an electronic trip coloured by authentic warm sequences, melodic synthetic layers and robotic vocals, the whole project spiced up with analogue drums with a clear wink to a legendary drum machine… 808 DOT POP's debut album "The Colour Temperature" is an aural blend of the best ingredients of many decades of electronic music and a vibrant sonic world. From the majestic first single "Blackbodies" featuring guest vocals by Noemi Aurora (HELALYN FLOWERS) to the edged bass sequences of the up-tempo "Thermal Contact" or the polished bubbly pop tones of "Incandescent", it becomes quite obvious that each very electronic sound on this album was meticulously selected with care to fit and deliver the right atmosphere. On "The Colour Temperature" Passenger S does not hesitate showcasing his trademark shammy soft sequencing that can be best experienced in songs like "The Tungsten Filament" or "Ultraviolet", while "Illuminants“ and "Thermodynamica" unveil his more sinister creative side but still keeping the finger on the right electronic pulse. More than just another 12-track album, "The Colour Temperature" houses a full package of conceptual creativity where music and vision neatly melt together around a well-considered central theme: glorifying trivial elements from our daily surroundings by taking them under the particular loop of 808 DOT POP and giving them another interpretation through uplifting synth sequences and warm melodic tunes. This is luminous ear candy. releases June 5, 2020

What was bound to be a one-shot remix collaboration turned into a full sonic adventure, proving that a daring concept, simple in set-up, has so much to offer once the magic operates and two talents unite and demonstrate that 1 + 1 can make 3. Note that the “Ultraviolet” single comes in 3 different download sets with this 7” single, a 12” EP with remixes from label mates IMPLANT and from MY.COSMO. What was bound to be a one-shot remix collaboration when CUBIC remixed the track “Kelvin” for 808 DOT POP’s last 7” vinyl release, turned into a full sonic adventure! Fascinated by the new electro dimensions that CUBIC injected into his own songs, Passenger S started wondering how it would sound like if one and the same artist would entirely remodel one of his albums. Appropriating and morphing every song into his own musical universe while keeping bits and pieces from the original versions. The originality of the concept seduced Franky Deblomme and CUBIC embarked on this challenging sonic journey, reworking tracks from the much applauded 808 DOT POP album “The Colour Temperature” and related singles. Songs like “Ultraviolet”, “Illuminants”, singles like “Blackbodies” and “Kelvin”, but also B-sides like “Seeing Heat” or “Cie 1960” were entirely remodeled, stretched towards a more LEFTFIELD / ORBITAL kind of sound while showing the biggest respect and keeping the right identity and original sound flavors from 808 DOT POP’s characteristic warm melodic vintage synth style. From the first note onwards up until the last, the listeners get immersed in a bath of luscious electronics. Musically taken on a ride where after each crispy note another vibrant joy is waiting, clearly holding the CUBIC watermark, with a tiny 808 flavor. “The Cubic Temperature” proves that a daring concept, simple in set-up, has so much to offer once the magic operates and two talents unite and demonstrate that 1 + 1 can make 3… released March 26, 2021

METROLAND’s Passenger S his first solo album, “The Colour Temperature” (and its companion remix album, “The Cubic Temperature”), set ground for more appetizing electronics served the Belgian way. Passenger S oiled his machines to bestow new airwave shows full of vintage electro music. The definitive sequencing, intertwined with a fine veneer of analogue melodies, remains a delicacy to admirers of the Düsseldorfer sound. 808 DOT POP presents three new enjoyable pop radio shows, broadcasted on three different radio bands. The listeners can tune in to two shows on both the “AM 1350” and “FM 88.2” frequency (available on compact disc digital carriers) and a third show on the “MW 720” frequency (available as a download). The two CD albums are not only complementary conceptual releases but are also produced and mixed like a broadcasting where all songs float into each others to guarantee the ultimate radiophonic experience... The idea for a pop radio show initially started when Passenger S asked (and also received) permission from OMD’s Andy McCluskey in person to cover their track ‘Radio Waves’. However, since the original was so darn good, the decision was soon taken to drop the cover idea. Still the interest to take a deeper dive into the matter of radio waves remained. A further push by Gary Hunter (KRAFTMAN), who pleasantly co-wrote on several songs, did finally lead to the birth of a new concept around the 1920’s crystal radio and the inventions of Guglielmo Marconi, who paved way for many things in our modern era. Titles like ‘Radio Waves’, ‘Syntonic Telegraphy’, ‘Marconi’, with the refined vocal of none other than top notch female singer Lis van den Akker, or ‘Morse Code’ are a direct ode to Marconi, whereas ‘Galena’, ‘Cat’s Whiskers’, ‘The Detector’ and of course ‘Crystal Radio’ have their roots in the specific type of radio that reigned the roaring 20’s, proved a blessing during WWII and up to this day is still existing amongst radio amateurs. Not only Marconi gets a place of honour in these 808 DOT POP broadcastings, but also “Heinrich Hertz” and the Belgian radio voice of “Jan Moedwil” have their spotlight in this new conceptual piece of art. These presented pop radio shows are again packed with detailed aesthetics, meticulously put together, not a detail left unseen or unheard that will shackle many to these pop radio shows. Tune in now to enjoy two fabulous trips down on memory lane, one being the art of crystal radio and the second one being music delivered in top notch vintage style. Welcome to 808 pop radio… released March 25, 2023
