He discovered Goa Trance in 1999 after randomly stumbling upon a track called “Aurora Borealis”, from legendary act Astral Projection, but it’s not until late 2010 that he started getting interested in trying to make this kind of music; after legitimately asking himself one evening “But how do these guys make all these noises anyway?”. He had no idea what he was getting into. Since that fateful day, hammering away at the computer, and fiddling with knobs is all that has been on his mind. Following his sister’s advice to post what he had done online, this enabled him to get lucky and, in 2014, be noticed by people inside the Goa Trance scene and play his first couple of sets at Belgian parties (yes Belgium, you’re that awesome <3). Coupled to the fact that people’s reaction to his work was surprisingly encouraging, this has done nothing to lessen his obsession, with some of his tracks starting to appear on compilations accross various labels on the ‘Net such as Goa Galaxy, Goa Madness Records, and Neogoa, with a fully-fledged album planned for 2015. Well, besides being nightmarish monstrosities living on the dark side of the Dreamlands' moon, it's also the name of an all-new collaboration projectbetween Alexandre Cohen (that's Ephedra), and Jérôme Lesterps (a.k.a Proxeeus), respectively from Belgium & France. They decided to join forces a couple of years ago, first by making a collaboration track (which ended up being featured on Ephedra's 3rd album), and when they were asked to perform a complete collaborative set in Portugal earlier in 2019, they decided to take things up a notch and transformed this into a full-blown music project. What's to expect then ? My, ya'll are a curious bunch. The general idea is to obviously make a blend of both styles, with Ephedra’s floaty, melodic side bringing some kind of balance to Proxeeus’ more aggressive sound, which should result in something greater than the sum of its parts. According to Proxeeus though, it’s simply a plot to prevent Ephedra from making fluffy stuff and to bring him to the Dark Side (because we’ve got cookies over there, yo). When the frontier between dreams and reality becomes so tenuous that one is virtually indistinguishable from the other, and the mere act of sleeping becomes unbearable. Probably the most "personal" release I ever published up until now, "A Bullet through my Head" is the story of a recurring nightmare I experienced nightly for full a year, right after burying my father in late 2018. By putting those memories and feelings into music, I hope I'll finally be able to get some closure on that chapter and eventually move on. If you've been following me, you already know the kind of stuff I usually create. This isn't it. I'll probably lose a few people here and there, but I guess that's to be expected. As a bonus, enclosed within your download is a short story going into details about the whole thing. I hope you guys and gals will enjoy this journey -- thank you for your support ! Jérôme.
