A fan of electronic music from a very young age, in 1999 he started as a DJ, absorbed by the breaks scene of southern Spain. In 2005 he entered the world of production unofficially. It was in 2012 when he released his first techno / house EPs for Alivelab Records, ListenShut Records or Tainted Tanit. In 2013 begins to decline for his most important concern, breaks and electro, publishing in Tainted Hathor, Tainted Ronin, OnDaMike Productions, or his own label Amper Clap Productions (still active). Under the alias Sudden Shock publishes two EPs, one of them in Bassement Bass Records. He continued with remixes or own titles for EPs or compilations on labels such as Diodes Recs, Tainted Buddah, Electroclub Records, Battery Park Studio, Crobot Muzik, Elektrodos Recordings, Touched - Music For Macmillan Cancer Support, Mars Frequency or Encrypted Records. In addition, he is the founder of Urban Connections, a label born of the need to strengthen the electronic scene by joining well-known artists with shadow artists with great potential, with a series of compilations covering any style of electronics. Akaro, CB, Viral Tranz or Mutho are some of his other alias used in some of his productions. In the prolongation of his "The Dome EP" by the end of 2014, amazing "The Domain Of The Mind EP" offers a journey into Sergio Checa's brain. Meticulously crafted, this brand new digital E.P. gathers together no less than six dancefloor friendly tunes ranging from pure old schoolish to more futuristic Electro, with a sense of end of the world doom characteristic of Amper Clap's sound. Synthetic "Improvisation" kicks off the E.P. with 80's ambient melodies a la John Carpenter over a moody Electro rhythm, giving the tone of a much anticipating release with nostalgic touches. The title track instantly follows and merges powered beats to nice Speak'n'Spell like vocals, leading the listener to dark landscapes surrounded by an intricate unknown lifeform presence. Ace! Nightmarish "Derangement" goes harder with rough kicks, SciFi effects and a quicker tempo. Brilliant! Combination of sonic analogue frequencies, haunting melodies and echos, groovy "Has Aroused" coming next serves up a retro slaughter with ravey influences, while creepy "Opposite" signs nothing short of a horrific tune made of alien voices, percussive 808s, and lethal layers. Superb! Supported by a loud bassline, final track "Dangerous Acid", my favorite, sounds like a funky ode to old school Electro, fusing robotic harmonies, 303 loops and cosmic arrangements like atoms in a nuclear station. The current 8 tracker from the unstoppable Spanish cyborg deserves its title. Surely "Evil" introduces an evolution in Sergio Checa's music and a new artistic direction, but it sticks to a dark sound which is Amper Clap's trademark. With more than 20 EP's and numerous collaborations on labels such as Battery Park Studio, Alivelab, OnDaMike Productions, and Tainted Ronin since 2005, Sergio has covered every kind of electronic genre, from Breaks to Techno, passing through Trance. Devoted to Electro, the Spanish artist always shows dedication for tense, melodic, yet unhealthy vibes. Some atmospheres we can find on "Evil" melt with old school funk. In overture of the digital pack, trippy "Bass Attack" delivers an almighty tune a la John Carpenter over a moody Electro rhythm, giving the tone of a much anticipating release with nostalgic touches. Retro "Junior Bot" coming next sees Amper doing some funny Speak n' Spell exercises. Well named "Gates Of Hell" instantly following draws pictures of a terrific purgatory on fire surrounded by insane creatures leading us to the title cut "Evil", an horrific affair with a sense of drama and apocalyptic vision made of powerful beats plus industrial synth flights. Merciless! Meticulously crafted "Genome T-16" merges almighty drums to a groovy bassline paving the way to unexplored and dark landscapes. To bring his sound closer to some of Boris Divider's early works. Ace! Mind blowing "Love Of Evil" offers a creepy yet dancefloor friendly tune, whereas nightmarish "Molecular Reconstruction" serves up a heading syncopated jam supported by haunting arrangements; both cuts ranging from authentic old school to more futuristic Electro. Mixture of downtempo rhythms, loud bass and cosmic melodies, "Free Your Senses" concludes the EP on a soulful and visionary note. Superb! Every track on "Evil" hits the mark and takes you further into the world of Amper Clap, moving through deep atmospherics to dancefloor tension filled with twisty electro. DBP is a collaborative project between 2 artists, who each contribute one of their tracks, and a remix of the other artist's track, giving us a 4 track EP that is the presentation of the styles and sounds of both artists, as well as a Gestalt construct of both, through the remixes, in a unique sound which is the product of their musical collaboration. The first installment comes from prolific Spanish producer, DJ and boss of the eclectic Urban Connections label Amper Clap, together with Robyrt Hecht, German producer, DJ and boss of the excellent YUYAY records label. Amper Clap's "Desolation" is fast paced and synth heavy, in purist AC style, with a lead melody that is on the fringe of out of tune, and the characteristic, well organized structure that this breaks, hardcore (as Sudden Shock) and electro producer lays on his tracks. "Time to Shift" characterizes the cold mathematical producer that is Robyrt Hecht, with beautifully built up pads and atmospheres, and ice cold computer voices over crystaline electro beats. The mutual remixes make this a unique EP. Robyrt Hecht's rework of Amper clap's "Desolation" becomes even faster, closing in on elegant electro techno, with polished melodies and vocoded vocals from Robyrt Hecht's freezer. Amper Clap takes the track by Robyrt Hecht, and heats things up with a electro breaks beats, thicker synths and cowbells. The resulting remixes reflect the mutual understanding as well as the interacting different styles of both artists, fulfilling the goal of this release: a collaborative EP that is more than just the sum of both individual styles, showing both the richness of their individual work, as well as the interesting interplay of their artistic personalities. released June 2, 2017 Amper Clap, Robyrt Hecht
