Depeche Mode are; to many of us, a group without equal, with a brilliant catalog of tracks that is almost impossible to choose from. That said, the artists on this tribute were asked to choose one, and show their own talent through the cover, while also keeping closely to the ideas and emotions of the original. Joshua Pfeiffer - It's No Good (5:33) This tribute compilation was an idea at the dawn of the online synthwave "scene". As soon as the scene organized itself into various online groups; the main one being Synthetix FM, people naturally talked about their influences and ofcourse Depeche Mode is quite a big and enduring one for many synthwavers. Mike made the call in Febuary 2015 for this compilation and the seeds were sown. This could have come out earlier, but labels tend to shy away from 'tribute albums' as a music licensing fee is required to avoid copyright issues, hence why this is a FREE DOWNLOAD. Many of you had asked what happened to the comp, through the DP tribute group or in pm's, so i decided to intervene and get it done. Armed with a list of artists and the songs they intended to cover, the searching began. Thankyou to all the artists involved for making it easy, sending the songs, and sometimes being asked to send them again due to misplacement of files...;). The deadline has moved and moved and moved again due to people wanting to remix or simpy get their song done the right way. I'm blown away by the quality here, and i can only hope that this comp get's to Gahan, Gore, Clarke, Wilder & Fletcher. Feel free to help make that happen!!!
