В альбоме, помимо самого Йохана, принял также участие Дирк Ивенс из Dive, выступивший в качестве вокалиста и автора текста в песне «Where do we go from here?». В 1995 году выходит второй диск группы «Stored Images», включающий в себя композицию «See You In Hell!», принёсшую Suicide Commando немалую популярность и до сих пор остающийся первым хитом и своеобразной «визитной карточкой» группы. В 1996 году, в честь десятилетия творческой деятельности, стартует юбилейный гастрольный тур, по завершении которого на прилавках появился EP «Contamination», изданный сразу в двух вариантах — обычном и праздничном. На концертах в то время Ван Рою помогают Дэвид Кирвел (Pierrepoint) и Герт Хельвет (Frames A Second), либо его подруга Таня Рихтер (Tanja Richter). В 1997 году группа выступает на легендарном фестивале Zillo перед пятитысячной аудиторией. С помощью лейбла EDT альбомы Suicide Commando проникают на рынок США. В 1998 году Suicide Commando выпускает очередной альбом в двух вариантах: стандартном, под названием «Construct/Destruct» и лимитированном — «Reconstruction», содержащем в себе, помимо основного материала, ремиксы от различных известных групп, в частности, wumpscut:, Pierrepoint, Plastic Noise Experience и Dive. В США альбом издаётся лейблом Possessive Blindfold Recordings. Далее следует концертный тур Conquering Europe Tour совместно с американским проектом Velvet Acid Christ. В 1999 году выходит сборник демозаписей «Chromdioxyde I» — компиляция неизданного материала, записанного в период с 1988 по 1994 годы. В этом же году Ван Рой становится одним из основателей лейбла Dependent Records, покинув компанию OffBeat. В мае 2000 был в свет выходит первый сингл с нового альбома «Comatose Delusion», за ним следует второй сингл «Hellraiser» — один из самых значимых хитов Suicide Commando, и уже в октябре группа презентует четвёртый студийный полноформатник «Mindstrip». Этот альбом и оба предшествующих сингла в короткие сроки вырвались к вершинам немецкого чарта Deutsche Alternative Charts. «Mindstrip» был позже лицензирован и издан в Северной Америке компанией Metropolis Records и получил положительные отзывы. В конце 2000 года группа уходит в концертный тур по Германии Mindstripping 2000. В 2001 году вышел EP «Love Breeds Suicide» с новой песней «Dein Herz, Meine Gier» в качестве би-сайда. В 2003 году состоялся американский дебют Suicide Commando — альбом «Axis of Evil». Начиная с этого альбома, стиль музыки группы становится более танцевальным. В том же году выходит двойной сингл «Face Of Death», лимитированное издание которого было распродано за два дня. Альбом «Axis of Evil» был назван альбомом года (2003) чартом Deutsche Alternative. Позже, в 2004-ом Suicide Commandо выпускает ещё один двойной сингл «Cause of Death: Suicide / One Nation Under God», разошедшийся ограниченным тиражом. 2006 год ознаменовался выпуском нового альбома «Bind, Torture, Kill», а также сингла «Godsend/Menschenfresser». «Bind, Torture, Kill» занял высокие позиции во многих альтернативных чартах по всему миру и был признан альбомом месяца в немецком журнале Orkus. Выпущен на собственном лейбле Йохана Noise Terror Productions (новое подразделение Dependent Records), доступен также и в лимитированном издании, включающим в себя бонус-диск, плакат и стикер. В начале 2007 года, в рамках двадцатилетнего юбилея группы, выпускается лимитированный бокс-сет с названием «X20». Это специальное издание состоит из трёх CD-дисков и DVD, содержащий записи «живых» выступлений, а также уникальных фотоматериалов группы и специального сюрприза. Первый CD представляет собой сборник избранных песен, на втором представлены ремиксы композиций от некоторых известных музыкантов жанров EBM и dark electro, а третий представляет собой новый EP «Fuck You Bitch». Ремиксовый CD и «Best of» были позже выпущены в виде отдельных дисков на Metropolis Records. В 2008 году начинается работа над материалом для нового альбома. Тогда же закрывается лейбл Noise Terror Productions. В мае 2009 года Ван Рой объявил, что он подписал контракт с лейблом Out Of Line на выпуск материала в Европе. В 2009 году выходят два новых сингла — «Until We Die/Severed Head» и «Die Motherfucker Die», предшествующие новому, одиннадцатому альбому, изданному в конце января 2010 года. Альбом получил название «Implements Of Hell», мастерингом занимался Jan Lehmkamper (X-Fusion/Noisuf-X). Aggro-dance-ориентированное современное звучание тяжелых и мрачных синтезаторов, выполненное в лучших традициях классического dark electro обеспечило альбому положительные отзывы и высокие позиции в альтернативных чартах. Сам альбом стал более сложным по звучанию, с более интересными и профессиональными аранжировками. Выпущен он в трёх различных изданиях: 2xCD и 3xCD издания с ограниченным тиражом в 2000 и 1000 экземпляров соответственно, а также регулярное издание с одним диском. Ограниченные издания альбома включают в себя бонусный диск с ремиксами, а 3xCD версия, изданная специально для фанатов, содержит бонусный сингл «God Is In The Rain», футболку, набор наклеек и сертификат владельца с порядковым номером. В это время концертный состав группы выглядит следующим образом: Марио Варевик (Insekt) за барабанами, Торбен Шмидт (Lights Of Euphoria) и Ян Лемкемпер (X-Fusion) на клавишах. В 2011 году Йохан возвращается в бизнес с новым лейблом «World Wide Electronics». Первым релизом лейбла стал сборник электронной музыки «World Wide Electronics volume 1». Suicide Commando also makes its first steps on stage, playing as support act for Plastic Noise Experience. » 1994 « Suicide Commando is signed to the german OFF BEAT label and releases its first full length CD "critical stage", including clubhits like "traumatize", "necrophilia".... and featuring Dirk Ivens (Dive) as guest vocalist on one track ("where do we go from here ?"). Several other tracks (including the club hit "save me") are released on different compilations during ´94 und ´95. » 1995 « Suicide Commando releases ist 2nd CD called "stored images" (OFF BEAT), including remixes of "T.V.-obsession", "intercourse", "save me" ... and including new dancefloor smashers like "murder" and of course "see you in hell" (the biggest Suicide Commando hit until now !) » 1996 « Suicide Commando start their "critical images" tour. 10 YEARS of Suicide Commando ! To celebrate this 10th anniversary Suicide Commando releases the "contamination" EP, including new tracks and remixes from "see you in hell" and "traumatize". This EP is also released as a limited boxset (2000 copies, sold out !), including the regular EP + 3" bonus CD offering some old and previously unreleased material. » 1997 « Suicide Commando releases a new mcd "state of emergency" on the german O-files II sampler (OFF BEAT). Suicide Commando plays at the legendary Zillo festival in Germany in front of 5000 people. The "contamination" CD is now also released in the USA on Electric Death Trip records. This american edition includes 3 bonus tracks. » 1998 « Suicide Commando releases the new cd "construct-destruct" (OFF BEAT), including new clubhits "desire" and "better off dead"... Along with the new cd Suicide Commando also releases another new limited edition called "reCONSTRUCTion" (on 2500 copies only, already SOLD OUT !), including the regular CD + bonus disc offering new material and remixes from bands like :wumpscut:, Dive, plastic noise experience and Pierrepoint. Suicide Commando start their successfull "Conquering Europe tour" together with the american Velvet Acid Christ. » 1999 « "construct-destruct" is licensed in the US by Possessive Blindfold Recordings. The album reaches the N° 10 position in the CMJ charts. Suicide Commando releases "chromdioxyde 1", a compilation including only old & previously unreleased demo matreial from the period between '88 - '94. The Compilation reaches No, 7 position in the DAC Suicide Commando starts working on the new "mind strip" cd » 2000 « 2000 without any doubt became the most successfull year in suicide commando's career so far. In May suicide commando returns with a first single "comatose delusion", taken from their forthcoming album. This single brought suicide commando to the absolute top of the international alternative scene. Even more success gained the 2nd single "hellraiser" ! Both singles reach the N° 1 position in the german alternative charts (DAC). In October suicide commando finally releases their long awaited "mindstrip" album (available as a limited boxset as well), which also reaches the N° 1 position in the DAC album charts. The cd also is released in the US via Metropolis and is getting an amazing response. End of 2000 suicide commando start their "mindstripping 2000" tour throughout Germany. » 2001 « In 2001 suicide commando returns with the "love breeds suicide" EP (Dependent), containing several remixes of the song "love breeds suicide" (original version on "mindstrip") and including another new clubsmasher "dein herz, meine gier" ... Once again this release reaches the N° 1 position in the german DAC charts. » 2002 « After doing several more concerts and festivals accross Europe, suicide commando returns to the studio to start working on their new album which is planned to come out in 2003. In the mean time they release the "anthology" dcd, a compilation of the best and biggest suicide commando hits up so far, including all clubhits like "hellraiser", "see you in hell", "love breeds suicide" ... and offering some exclusive new remixes and rare versions. A must have for all true fans ! » 2003 « 2 years after the last "love breeds suicide" mcd, suicide commando return with a brand new single entitled "face of death", which reaches N° 1 positions in numerous charts (DAC, DUC, NAC ...) all over Europe. The limited edition version of the single (including an extra disc with more remixes and rare versions) sells out in only 2 days ! End of the year the long awaited "axis of evil" album finally is released worldwide through Dependent (Europe) and Metropolis (USA ...). The album immediately conquers the world in no time and reaches N° 1 positions all over the globe and turns out to be the best selling suicide commando album up to date. The limited edition of "axis of evil" (a luxurious boxset with extra dvd including videoclips, interview ...) sells out in no time. The album was voted "best album of the year" in the legendary german alternative charts (DAC). To promote their new album suicide commando hit the road with the "axis of evil" tour, supported by Interlace and Tactical Sekt. This tour turns out to be their most successfull tour up till today and is getting huge positive response by both press and audience. » 2004 « Beginning of 2004 suicide commando continue their 2nd part of the "axis of evil" tour which brings them to countries like Switzerland, Italy, France, Holland, Denmark, Sweden ... and in summer 2004 they do an extended summer festival tour with successfull shows at WGT, Zillo, Castle Party, M'era Luna and Infest. In between they still manage to finish and release a new double single (cause of death:SUICIDE + one nation under god), also available as limited edition and taken from their latest "axis of evil" album. The single once again reaches the N° 1 spot in several alternative chart. » 2005 « In 2005 suicide commando finally gets back into their studio to start working on new material. The first result of this new work gets released in November 2005 as a limited double a-side single called "godsend/menschenfresser". The single gets released on Johan's brandnew own label NTP (short for Noise Terror Productions), a new division of Dependent. The single is the first sign of the new album which is scheduled for early 2006. In between suicide commando still manages to do some more live shows and festivals throughout Europe. » 2006 « Early 2006 sees the release of the long awaited new studio album from suicide commando called "bind, torture, kill", named after the famous serial killer Dennis L. Rader aka the btk strangler. The album gets released in 2 editions, a regular cd edition including 11 new tracks (including a remix version of "godsend" and a special cover version of Tommi Stumpff's classic "massaker") and a special limited edition including a bonus disc, sticker and postcard. The album once again makes it to the top of several alternative charts like the DAC, BAC, REWC ... and is voted as "album of the month" in the german Orkus magazine. » 2007 « To celebrate 20 years of SUICIDE COMMANDO (1986-2006) the band releases the special limited and luxury X20 boxset in Europe (NTP/Dependent), including not less then 4 discs (a "best of" CD, a remix CD, the very first SUICIDE COMMANDO live DVD and the "fuck you bitch" bonus single). End of 2007 both the "best of" CD and the "remix" CD also got released as seperate discs in the USA through Metropolis Records, their US license partner. Also end of 2007 SUICIDE COMMANDO return with the song "hate me", their first new material since "bind torture kill", released on the "noise terror volume 2" sampler on NTP/Dependent, their last release on NTP/Dependent before closing their doors. » 2008 « SUICIDE COMMANDO start working on brandnew material for their upcoming EP and new album and continues doing several live shows all over Europe. » 2009 « SUICIDE COMMANDO signs an exclusive european deal with the german Out Of Line label and a US (+ rest of the world) deal with Metropolis Records and finally returns with brandnew material in the form of a special limited 7" red vinyl featuring "until we die" and "severed head". It's the first SUICIDE COMMANDO release since 2 years and is the forerunner of the new single "die motherfucker die" (released in September 2009) and the new album + limited edition of "implements of hell", to be released early 2010. » 2010 « On January 22nd the waiting finally has come to an end and sees the release of the long awaited new studio album by SUICIDE COMMANDO called "implements of hell", referring to the serial killer Albert Fish who used to call the intsruments he used to brutally kill his victims his "implements of hell". The album was released in 3 different editions in Europe, being a regular edition, a limited double CD edition including a bonus disc with remixes and rare material, and a special limited luxury boxset including both CD's + a bonus single + t-shirt + poster + postcardset. Few days later (January 26th) the album and limited double CD edition also got released in the rest of the world by Metropolis. The album once again reaches top positions in several independent and alternative charts all over the world. End of 2010 a 4th (!) single "death cures all pain" was taken from the successful "implements of hell" album and was released on Out Of Line. » 2011 « 1986 >>> 2011 25 years of SUICIDE COMMANDO, another milestone in the band's history ! To celebrate this unique birthday the band releases „the suicide sessions“, a luxury 6 CD boxset including their first 3 studio albums and 3 more CD’s full of rare and previously unreleased material from their early days. For over two decades the godfather of Harsh Electro has been bombarding us now with countless club smashers and morbid soundtracks, and still the end is not in sight. Full speed ahead ! » 2012 « Summer 2012 and SUICIDE COMMANDO return with a first new single "attention whore", taken from their forthcoming album. The single is released on 1000 copies only and only available in Europe through Out Of Line Records. In the US the single is available as digital download through Metropolis Records. In no time the new single hits the alternative charts again. In 2012 the band finally gets to tour the USA, Mexico, Russia, Portugal ... for the very first time. The tour turns out to be a major success and another highlight in the band's history. » 2013 « SUICIDE COMMANDO finishes its 8 (!!!) full album "when evil speaks" which will be released early May in both Europe (Out Of Line Records) and the rest of the world (Metropolis Records). The album once again reaches the first position of the alternative charts (german alternative charts - DAC, german electronic web charts - GEWC ...) and for the first time in the long history of the band even made it to position 47 in the official german album charts (German Media Control Album Charts). At the end of 2013 SUICIDE COMMANDO releases with "Unterwelt" a 2nd single taken from the successful "when evil speaks" album, which once again makes it to the top of the most important alternative charts. Simultaneously with the new single the band also releases a strictly limited (to 500 copies) picture disc vinyl with a remastered version of their first major hitsingle "see you in hell". » 2014 « 2014 was supposed to become a year with mainly new live shows and touring, but due to a sad accident on stage while touring the US for the 2nd time, Johan tears his ACL (ligaments) and meniscus and needs surgery. It sadly obliges the band to cancel a lot of live shows. During his long rehab Johan fortunately can start working on new material for a new album. » 2015 « After a little break SUICIDE COMMANDO returns with the single "the pain that you like", featuring Jean Luc Demeyer from Front 242 as guest vocalist. The single sells out in no time and is the first release taken from the forthcoming album on which Johan is working. End of 2015 Minimal Maximal Records releases a limited vinyl version of the last ever SUICIDE COMMANDO demo tape "Electro Convulsion Therapy" from 1993. The strictly limited vinyl version comes with a bonus CD featuring some more re-mastered old tape songs from the beginning period of SUICIDE COMMANDO. » 2016 « After the very successfull re-release of the "Electro Convulsion Therapy" tape/LP/CD from 2015, Sleepless Records Berlin also decides to do a limited CD re-release of the "Black Flowers" demo tape from 1992. And to celebrate 30 years of SUICIDE COMMANDO his former label Dependent Records also re-releases the "bind, torture, kill" album from 2006 as a limited double vinyl LP, and decides to re-release all SUICIDE COMMANDO material released on Dependent Records throughout the years in the form of a 9 CD boxset called "Compendium X30". In October 2016 SUICIDE COMMANDO also celebrates his 30th anniversary with a special double live set in his own hometown Leopoldsburg. » 2017 « 4 years we had to wait for a new SUICIDE COMMANDO album, but it was definately worth the wait. "Forest of the impaled", released in July 2017, enters the official german album charts at position 28 and reaches the number 1 position in both the german alternative charts (DAC) and the german electronic webcharts (GEWC) for 6 consecutive weeks. It was the promising start of a long and ultimatily succesful career and today SUICIDE COMMANDO can be easily described as on of THE leading harsh electro acts in the alternative scene. What some of you might not know is that Johan Van Roy still released 9 (!) tapes before releasing his debut album in 1994. "Electro Convulsion Therapy" was the last and without any doubt the most succesfull tape released in 1993. It already contained the original 4 track recordings of later clubhits like "Traumatize", "Necrophilia" or "Time", but also featured other pearls like "Close Your Eyes", "Sheer Horror" or "How It Feels". Like no other album, “Mindstrip” embodies the term Hellelektro and shows the dark, club sounds which have made Suicide Commando world famous. In celebration of the 20th anniversary of this masterpiece, Johan van Roy recalls his bloody roots without losing sight of the dark future. “Mindstrip was a milestone, not only for me but for the whole electro scene”, Johan comments self-consciously. “The album became a big influence on many bands of the scene.” A great opportunity to give this classic piece an overhaul after 20 years. “The original album was written on an old Atari computer and most of the singing parts were partially recorded live”, Johan remembers, „at first I wanted to just re-master those old recordings, but when I started transferring the old Cubase files onto my today's computer, I more and more started to re-write the songs and in the end, most songs had a completely different turnout.” Nevertheless, Johan has never lost respect for the legendary original: “Mindstrip Redux” will be released as a 2-CD version with the new version of the album just like the groundbreaking original. Also, fans of vinyl will surely be thrilled. Yes, you read it correctly, this is the first time since the album was released that “Mindstrip” will be available on vinyl.
