(Neo Progressive) Ultime Atome - Dark Visions - 2003, FLAC (image+.cue), lossless

French outfit ULTIME ATOME was formed in December 1993, initally consisting of Isabelle Descamps (keyboards), Walter Ginanneschi (guitars), Bruno Vente (bass) and Patrick Delmas (drums). 70's style melodic progressive rock was a dominant influence on the sound the foursome opted to explore, mixed with a desire to add new and hopefully original dimensions to that approach. In 1999 they made their first album Soleil Levant, a self produced and self released production. A series of concerts promoting this initial CD followed.
A few months later Jean Marc Tesorio (vocals) joined Ultime Atome. With his addition their music evolved into a more contemporary sound, including a subtle Gothic inspired touch (according to the band's self description). When this refined approach to their chosen style had settled, the band hit the studio to create a new album. The end result was the CD Dark Visions, which was released in May 2003 through French label Musea Records. Ultime Atome fell apart shortly after this, with some members later reappearing in French act Qantum.
