С самого начала музыка всегда была его главной страстью.
Ещё в 70-х он играл на ударных и на гитаре, а в ранних 80-х переключился на клавишные.
Матиас оказался полностью очарован бесконечными возможностями и уникальной гибкостью синтезаторов и вообще электронной музыки, которую он начал создавать сам, в стиле традиционной немецкой электроники и "New Age".
В конце 80-х он начал работать в стиле "Drone Ambient".
Используя бесконечные обертоны и многочисленные эффекты, он исследовал их воздействие на человеческое сознание подобно древнеиндийской "Надх - Йога".
Помимо синтезаторов он использует различные перкуссии, цитры, флейты, гитары, поющие чаши, свой собственный голос и некоторые самостоятельно сконструированные инструменты.
Всё более и более Матиас влюблялся в духовную силу музыки.
Особенно сильно эта сила проявлялась в некоторых найденных им обертонах, в субгармонических хоралах, в долгих и глубоких синтезаторных пассажах, а также в североиндийских рагах.
Особенно сильное влияние оказали знаменитые поющие чаши Клауса Визе, духовная сила которых пробудила у Матиаса сильнейший интерес к "потоку духовной энергии" и реальной силе в музыке.

Artwork – Katya Velkova. Releasing drone and ambient music since almost forty years, Mathias has developed his very distinctive style. Long lasting tracks which hum themselves into the listener's subconsciousness, mesmerising angelic overtones mixed with haunting deep drones to forget present space and time. For the cosmic winnetou release, his first one on cassette since the late nineties, Mathias encapsuled the essences of his musical magic into pieces with running time between two and fifteen minutes. Surprisingly those short tracks makes you even more forget where and who you are and transform your inner selve into some kind of zen saint mode. How he does this? Don't know, but make sure to regard the advice of the master himself:
