It is called "Pokey Love" as I feel connected to the little Atari since I was a little kid. During all these years since the 1980s there were recurring waves of fascination that urged me to get back making music on this lovely machine. There, I also met Heinz Rossi with whom I shared a good couple of water melons and who is also responsible for the beautiful cover art. In contrary to previous releases, this album now integrates both Atari chip music elements and more recent soundscapes. The album was finished in september 2012. Most of the songs were created in the early 2000s and a good part of them remained unpublished for one reason or another. So, I am excited to finally release them. In a way, this is also a preview of a forthcoming Atari ST music release which is planned to contain more unreleased tracks from the past 15 years of chiptuning on this lovely machine. The great cover picture named "Lets explore that cave!" was painted by pixel artist Zweckform, sending me right back into the spirit of mid-90s adventure gaming. Recording was performed on real hardware (Atari STE), resulting in an unfortunate yet original noisy and sometimes strangely distorted audio signal. The tunes were replayed using gwEms super STJ tool, this man is such a gift. The game was developed by Duranik (www.duranik.com) - a small German indie game developer originating from the Atari scene. Just as the game itself, the creation of the soundtrack came a rather long way since 2006. In fact after years of doing music on Atari computers only, some of the tracks were my first attempts on producing music using a PC. The idea was to create a driving mix of mid-90s techno and chipmusic. With several rounds of rework and new compositions the soundtrack was finally finished in 2013. The songs of Sturmwind Kondensat represent my personal favorites. Enjoy! Actually the music originates from a joint demoscene production for Atari ST which was created together with my friends of Dead Hackers Society and Paradox. The music demo includes plenty of unreleased tunes and drafts composed on the YM2149 soundchip (Atari ST and Falcon) during the period of 1996-2013.
