The album is based around the feeling you get when you finish a hard days work and lose yourself in music until the early hours. Many of the tracks are dark and mysterious but with a fun side
The album itself has heavy influence from 80s b-movie horror and the iconic synthesized sounds of such tv shows as Miami Vice. The first 8 tracks on the album are all original pieces written and produced by myself 'Occams Laser'.
The last 3 tracks are remixes created by some amazing electronic artists, all of which I would like to personally thank for all creating such great remixes and i cant wait to hear what they produce next!

The EP has an overall dark powerful vibe with of a twist of fun in the mix. All instruments, effects and vst’s used to create the tracks were designed to have an 80s feel to them but with a modern edge. The lyrics for ‘Judgment Day’ are heavily influenced by the story of the first two classic Terminator movies. This track was a fun concept idea that became too good not to complete. If you thought a power ballad about the Terminator was impossible then prepare for mind to be blown! -------------------------------------------------

This place is divided into Nine Circles of suffering located within the Earth. The circles are concentric, representing a gradual increase in wickedness, and culminating at the centre of the earth, where Satan is held in bondage. The sinners of each circle are punished for eternity in a fashion fitting their crimes: each punishment is a contrapasso, a symbolic instance of poetic justice. It is now through sound that we explore these Nine Circles. ††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††† Nine Circles is an instrumental album taking heavy influence from Dante Alighieri's 14th-century epic poem the Divine Comedy.
The track names refer to each circle of Hell as they appear in the first part of the Divine Comedy often referred to as ‘Dante’s Inferno’. A place where data and information is represented as a simulated reality. Each user has their own program and due to the users creating these programs they regard their users with deific status.
Under the influence of a new power-hungry artificial intelligence, the programs are being coerced into losing faith in the users.
It would take a new type of program to alter this balance of power and re-take the grid for the good of the programs and their users. With the aid of a mysterious entity claiming to be a user who has been put into the system, perhaps there is hope.
All will be settled on….The Grid. The Grid is a concept album based on the 1982 film Tron.
Comprised of 17 instrumental tracks all designed with the aesthetics and feel of the original 1982 film. All the tracks are completely original, and written specifically for this project. When I first saw the film Tron, I was completely mesmerised! It was as if watching the film had switched on a new part to my brain. The colours, the sounds, the landscapes; it all meshed together perfectly. Everything seemed possible in this computer based world. The album as a whole is designed to work almost as an alternative soundtrack to the original film. With the names of each track providing some sort of ‘CLU’ to what part of the film it was made for. I’ve made songs with a Tron based sound to them before for a compilation album (Flynn Pt I & II) and although the project went well I still felt I had more to explore. Thus the idea for a complete album of purely my own work was born.
Whilst making the album i tried to use a lot of modular based instruments when making this album, and all of these were vst based. This is of course a huge homage to Wendy Carlos who used primarily modular synths for the original score of Tron. A huge thanks to everyone who has purchased, listened to, talked about and supported my work over the last year and a half. In 1989 the creator of The Grid disappears. Haunted by this mystery we are drawn to a familiar place, The Arcade. Soon we are pulled into a digital world, one which has become more advanced than we could have ever imagined. This cyber frontier is filled with unknown dangers that must be fought to survive. With corrupted creations and unique beings born inside this digital world; it is hard to decipher friend from foe. It seems we will need every scrap of help to traverse this cyber universe, find the creator of The Grid and escape alive. This album acts as a direct continuation to my album ‘The Grid’ from 2016, however it also acts as a spiritual replacement soundtrack to Tron Legacy. In my head this is what I would have done with the soundtrack to the second film in the Tron series. Taking inspiration from the elements and instruments that were used in the original score but with a few modern techniques, styles, effects and my own spin on implementation.
The album is comprised of 24 tracks, with each track name giving a slight/blatant hint at what part of the story each is meant to represent.
Ranging from fast paced and aggressive to slower and more contemplative; this is not about genre, nor is it about style. Instead this album is about how music can make you feel.
