In 1972 he became a member of Ville Emard Blues Band and after their demise in mid-70's he recorded ''Extra-Ordinaire'' (1976, RCA) with the help of friends and musicians from Contraction and Ville Emard Blues Band. The album is recorded live (the audience can be clearly heard) and five out of the six compositions see Nadeau dominating the pieces with his quasi-Classical piano lines with contribution by bass and drums, featuring scarce electric guitars, female choirs and background orchestrations. Despite a rather miminalistic approach, Nadeau's performance is top notch with dramatic and romantic plays all the way and an intricate atmosphere with a Neo-Classical aura, a bit similar to François Faton Cahen's solo efforts. All these until the last 10-min. track ''Five strokes'', which is complex Avant Prog with R.I.O. and Free Jazz leanings, led by fast guitars, powerful improvised sax, experimental piano themes and schizophenic drumming. An odd contrast to the rest of the album, which sounds rather ethereal. Nadeau kept playing, mostly as a session musician, until his premature death due to cancer in 2004.
