Jonny Lang - Turn Around
 (thirdsaint, RYM): At first I didn't take to Jonny Lang's heavily blues influenced music but rest assured those infectious riffs and soulful vocals pulled me in soon after. You know something has caught your ear when you have the song stuck in your head after only one or two listens while you are working. Jonny Lang definitely shows his influences heavily and his strength is in his blues rock tunes. The softer acoustic songs don't seem to work too well, though they can be beautiful. It's mainly his vocals that fail in the slower songs while in the rock numbers he has an amazingly passionate voice that sounds years beyond his age of 25. In fact, I didn't at first believe that picture was him after hearing his voice first and I doubt many people would either. His guitar work is, well, let's just say he rips it up often, putting solos int he best spots where they don't feel forced. Plus, there being 15 songs, I can live with a couple that don't fit in as long as the rest make up for it. Though that does make the case of sometimes tracklisting can really affect an album true. If they shaved off 3 songs this would've been probably my favorite album ever.
