Isotope - The Collection / Коллекция - 3CD - 1974-1975
 Isotope were one of the major (and earliest) British jazz-rock bands of the 1970s, coming along chronologically only just behind Soft Machine and Nucleus, the two UK pioneer bands in the genre. Isotope was formed by guitarist Gary Boyle in 1972. After about a year, the band signed with a major U.K. management company who got the band signed to a independent label which was owned by a film company and things really took off. By the time of their second and best-known album, Illusion, the band consisted of Gary, ex-Soft Machine bassist Hugh Hopper keyboardist Laurence Scott and drummer Nigel Morris. The band was formed in 1973 by guitarist GARY BOYLE and also featured JEFF CLYNE on Bass, BRIAN MILLER on Keyboards and NIGEL MORRIS on drums. Jeff Clyne had previously played with Ian Carr’s NUCLEUS, whilst Gary Boyle had played with Stomu Yamashta’s East Wind. McKenna "theowlwatches", Amazon.com): This 3rd album and last studio disc by Isotope finds them sounding a lot more produced and slick than the previous albums but still has enough fire to hold many fusion fan's interest. It seems though, they were starting to hit some of the same ideas and motifs again. Gary Boyle's guitar sounds more piercing and biting, still retaining his John McLaughlin-esque intensity and Eastern informed melodic sense.
