He has produced numerous Billboard Charting albums including the entire NuSound catalog. His compositions build around chilled electronica, new-jazz and atmospheric drum & bass. His inspiration comes from hypnotic ambient textures, ancient tribal rhythms layered with haunting seductive female chanting or even indigenous songs from centuries past; incorporating them with modern studio techniques to create a truly mesmerizing fusion of an ancient future!
Long before the words “Chill Out” and “Mood” were used to sub-categorize music that was groove induced but decidedly laid back, NuSound aka Ivan Kopas was producing music that was hard to describe, yet reminiscent of things heard before. It was warm. It was comforting – it was cool and it was most definitely hip. The closest cousin musically would have to of been Enigma, or Tangerine Dream, but KOPAS was sure it had more to do with his obsession with The Art of Noise and the approaches they took to cutting edge music and production. The Erotic element or “Erotic Moods” title was more of a marketing angle so that the music itself could be discovered as it didn’t fit into any particular genre per say – and one thing was for sure, the music was indeed sensual and erotic in its pulse and delivery.--
