I’ve always been honest that I record the music that I would like to hear and consequently I’ve used various recording names so that I can always keep experimenting. I’ve experimented here as well, but I’ve also taken a little more time over the recordings. For example, all of the sequencing here has a lot of hands-on interaction – they're all performances in their own right. As I’d taken that extra time and care in creating each piece (although all solos are still live and first takes - I've not gone mad), I wanted to come out from behind those various names and just be me. For those of a certain age (and from the UK), it’s like the end of every Mike Yarwood show from your youth. Quite a few pieces of equipment (hardware and virtual) were used to make this piece, including the new AE Modular that continues to impress. This album has been issued as my personal way of honouring Alan R. The short explanation is that my head was into playing with some different sounds and getting them to sit right with each other. The slightly longer explanation is that I was reminded by my personal KDM that I needed to surprise people sometimes. Given the way that I create my music it’s fair to say that I surprise myself most of the time; however, I do tend to stick to my palette of sounds, changing slowly – and I do have favourites. As there seems to be a high correlation between listening to this style of electronic music and reading or watching science fiction themed material, the title and the tracks may make sense immediately. As with all of my releases, it’s more what may have been circling my personal space at the time of recording, rather than being a direct representation. To put it right out there, all of these tracks have been created 100% “in the box”, i.e. with software instruments. I’ve done my best to make them take the qualities of the original hardware as much as I can, which includes working carefully all of the way through the process. I make no bones about it as I have neither the space nor the money (in some cases) to be surrounded by hardware. Everything is as live as it can be and I’ve included a bonus track that is me playing a set of solos over the backing sequences. I then extracted my favourite to form the track “Grand Central”. The track “Tycho” was recorded just the night before issue and it gets a little excitable in places, so my apologies in advance. I'm told that I should be surprising people. Firstly, as it’s dedicated specifically to those Soviet Space Dogs; and, secondly, because it was an exclusive for Chuck Van Zyl’s Star’s End radio show. “The First Patashnik” referred to Laika, who became the first living creature to go into orbit around the Earth, in 1957, but sadly never came back home. Then, in 1960, Belka ("Squirrel") and Strelka ("Little Arrow") spent 27 hours in space, orbiting the Earth 17 times, and then returned home – becoming the first "Earthlings" to do so. This release, "Mindful Orbiting", is for Belka and Strelka, who played such an important part in the Race into Space, something that itself underpinned the Cold War world of the 1960’s, when I was growing up. I was thinking about the Trouvelot lithograph (actually a chromolithograph, apparently) depicting the meteor shower of 13-14 November, 1868, and looking out of my studio window into a very clear Norfolk sky. The I fired up one synth, mapped some controller knobs, and pressed record. I had the idea that it might be useful for a collaborative project that's bubbling away, but in the end it was far too abstract for it. Try listening in the same way as I recorded it – with the lights off and the night sky pressing down on you. You may even see a meteor. I do like to experiment with slightly different instruments, although my sound design is such that everything tends to sound quite similar. Having decided we were doing it, we then had to decide how we were doing it, and, as you can see, we did it. The only real rule was that we left enough space for each other. Oh yes, and to give a decent explanation of what was being passed on. After not that much thought, we landed upon the simple idea that each of us would start something off and then pass it on in the cycle of Mac to Syndromeda to TSSDP, Syndromeda to TSSDP to Mac, and finally TSSDP to Mac to Syndromeda. This meant that we all got a chance to start and finish a track, as well as be the filling in the sandwich. Now, the observant will spot that this is only three tracks. One was also started going in the other direction, i.e. TSSDP to Syndromeda to Mac. The order has been hidden from you listeners, although you may still be able to guess which is which. Certainly, you will recognise some of the individual styles as you listen, but overall the effect is very much one of a mixing together on a deeper level. Finally, there was the excellent mastering by Syndromeda to give everything that final fairy dust. This was something that Tony Sawford did for a great many recordings that you’ve doubtless got in your collections. Прям такой статный англичанин! И кроме того, хоть он работает по приколу и на фане, с юмором, мне кажется он добился сейчас куда более мощного успеха, чем все Грувовцы и Сферовцы вместе взятые. Просто он сечёт фишку с тем, что надо развивать социальную активность, а не строить из себя великомысленную задницу - при его уважаемом возрасте он запустил собственный канал Discord и там общается на тему синтов, технологий, других релизов. На его фоне "классики" выглядят ужасно устаревшими и надменными. У них у всех как пример - Шульце, который был самым нарцистичным и эгоистичным персонажем в электронной музыке.
protoz	Причём подход Энди Блойса оправдан, о чём говорит число подписчиков и купивших его произведения на Bandcamp. Активнее надо общаться и доносить свою музыку до потенциальной аудитории, а не вариться в собственном соку, как это делают большинство нынешних "берлинщиков". У них у всех как пример - Шульце, который был самым нарцистичным и эгоистичным персонажем в электронной музыке. У Шульце на это было право (всё таки родоначальник стиля), а у нынешних продолжателей и подражателей - нет. Развиваться надо, больше экспериментировать и общаться с потенциальной аудиторией.
Klorus X	protoz, ну как сказать... Не то чтобы Шульце прямо был незаменим и действительно был первой скрипкой. Достаточно даже посмотреть по количеству изданий. Tangerine Dream и уж тем более Jean Michel Jarre на многие порядки популярнее. С другой стороны именно концерты 1983 года TD и KS в принципе создали польскую сцену ЭМ, большинство музыкантов именно эти концерты называют импульсом к началу всего. Мне кажется, если выдернуть исключительно КШ, то конечно многие бы музыканты вероятно даже не появились, такие как Роберт Шрёдер, Бернд Кистенмахер, Петер Мергенер, возможно Шонвальдер и ещё десятки имён, которые прямо буквально вышли из под крыла Шульце и являются результатом его прямого влияния, либо продакшена на его лейблах, ну либо появились позднее и играли не совсем то. Однако мы не знаем, как бы это поменяло расклад и фокус внимания относительно современников Шульце, таких как Adelbert von Deyen, Tim Blake, Zanov. Возможно на безрыбье его бы заменил Ken Martin, который начинал в начале 70х, но сцена уже была занята. По большому счёту самое большое влияние на всех, кто начинал в 70е оказала Wendy Carlos, которая была лицом синтезатора Moog и как раз начинала с интерпретаций классики, о чём говорил Фрёзе: "мы просто берём классическую музыку и исполняем на синтезаторах". А Жарр как раз был более симфоническим, но он непосредственно работал в лаборатории электронного звука Месьена, то бишь был буквально внутри процесса создания новых смыслов.
