It was formed in 2010 by Dan Barrett (aka rhythmic noise act Worms of the Earth) and DJ/model VanityKills; later adding Joseph Myers (aka DJ Biodread) on live keys. This project is based around the concepts and imagery of VanityKills: the juxtaposition and parallels of extreme religious devotion and obsession with physical beauty. Venal Flesh hopes to evolve the dark, heavy sound that was started by the first wave of terror ebm acts and create music fitting of the genre’s name. Signed to Alfa Matrix in early 2015. Thematically, this record explores the juxtaposition of the craving for physical beauty/perfection and extreme religious devotion. For fans of Suicide Commando, Dive, VAC, Aslan Faction, :W:, Life Cried, etc. This record was created with the following equipment: Cubase, ADAM A7 monitors, Prophet 08, Virus TI, Virus Rack, Trinity TR, Absynth, Reaktor, SR16, with Lexicon, Boss, and SPL rack effects.
