Появившись на сцене в 2007 году, Bop (читается как Боп), сразу приковал к себе внимание ветеранов drum and bass музыки, хотя то, что он делает drum and bass’ом язык не поворачивается назвать, скорее это смесь минимал техно, эмбиента и idm, или как уже начали называть эту смесь — microfunk.
Играя с глубокими и порой мизантропскими атмосферами, Саша делает то, что не получалось у других: показать, что днб музыка — это не только тот шаблонный и примитивный звук, к которому привыкло новое поколение слушателей, воспитанных на новой волне рейвов.
На данный момент за плечами артиста уже три альбома на одном из подразделений крупнейшего drum'n'bass лейбла Hospital Records - Med School Music, собственный лейбл Microfunk Music, ремиксы на Enter Shikari, London Elektricity, Lynx и др., а также пачка пластинок на сторонних лейблах по всему миру.
Боп является половиной проектов Abstract Elements (Bop x Diagram) и Microfunk Crew (Bop x Oak), которые своим футуристичным звучанием успели покорить и выпустить релизы на лейблах Invisible Recordings, Exit Records, Hospital Records, Neodigital, Auxiliary, Demand и других.

Like a Russian cosmonaut ascending through the stratosphere, you will capture a unique vantage point as you look down on planet d&b… space suits at the ready, the effects of weightlessness may be experienced! “Ataraxia”, a firm favourite with the likes of D-Bridge, Instra:mental and Doc Scott, greets the listener with crisp 808 beats, blips and bleeps all underpinned by deep sub and warm soothing pads. Flip over the first plate and switch your turntable to 33rpm for two mid-tempo excursions; title track “Clear Your Mind” is a futuristic two-step beauty packed with cheeky organ stabs and rolling bass, and a hit with Christian Martin of Claude Von Stroke’s Dirtybird Records. Letting the needle run through to the second track on side b, “Rovor” is a sparkling slice of four-to-the-floor minimal techno, complete with innocent keys and vocal samples of Bop himself as a young child epitomising the naive beauty of Bops music. Onto the second vinyl and we return to 45rpm for two more super-chilled delicacies at 170bpm. The uplifting “Nothing Makes Any Sense” features finely filtered dub-reggae upstrokes dissected by gritty bass. Last but not least, the bit-crushed clicks and glitches on the intro of “Chaosmos” are a precursor to the crescendo of epic pads and palette of drum sounds that propels the track forward. Pulsing 128bpm venture “Sunrain” strikes a unique balance with a smooth and hypnotic groove, while “Intercontinental Meltdown” shakes things up, borrowing inspiration from Ashraf and Akhtar’s classic Pakistani film soundtrack “Good News For You”. The ethereal “Extraterrestrial Creatures Are Stealing You From Me From The Bedroom”, featuring vocal work by Bev Lee Harling, is one of two collaborations on the album and is followed up by “The End Is The Beginning” – a collab with close friend Jalex. Onwards into the matrix, Bop’s super slick remix of fellow Russian D&B producer Subwave’s “I Need You” surfaces, before we are urged forward by the hollow, raindrop style rhythmic pattern of “Morning Air”. Where the Russian enigma’s unmistakable production moves towards the dancefloor more so than ever before. The glitchy 8-bit stepper ‘Untitled Pattern 61’ lays the foundation of this EP giving a launchpad for the intrepid sounds we’ve come to expect from Bop. The sub heavy, deep, rolling sound of 'Untitled Pattern 56' strikes with precise force for the definitive sound-system weapon. Distinctive stabs whip through the mix and a choppy shaker wraps this pattern up in a delightfully techy bow. Producers, take note. ‘Untitled Pattern 60’ keeps it raw and 4x4 as an energetic footwork hybrid that’s bouncy, fast and fun. A deep, progressive, acid-techno, stepper from the 6th dimension, is as close as we can come. A garage infused hip-hop hybrid with a dash of dub takes the form of Untitled Pattern 63. Yet another testament to the proficiency of one of the universe’s most extraordinary composers. As gravity takes hold and his feet now remain firmly on the ground Untitled Pattern 64 chimes through the air.
