Although it was released in early October 2012, it was fashioned throughout the Summer and generally holds an airy Summer feel. Intermingled with some experiments and ambient minuets, the album is predominately filled with songs based around a core 60's music sample, which is looped behind old school trip hop beats all covered in chill synths. A wild bright overcast indeed. released October 7, 2012 ----------------------- foobar2000 1.3.5 / Замер динамического диапазона (DR) 1.1.1 Tracklist:

Indifferent Spaces - Lined with Pines (2:43) Appropriately released on Mischief Night 2012, "Mass Noun" is Indifferent Spaces' 4th effort and the first to venture almost entirely into the depths of a realm left behind for ghosts. IS4 is an 8 track mini concept album of eerie downtempo trip hop beats and creepy abandoned vibes, complete with scratches and the heavy crackle of an old 78 record that drags continuously throughout the entire program. Each song title, when read consecutively, creates one whole run-on sentence and describes a particular scene to which the music narrates. An exceptional, yet sometimes unsettling endeavor. released October 30, 2012 ----------------------- foobar2000 1.3.5 / Замер динамического диапазона (DR) 1.1.1 Tracklist:

Indifferent Spaces - Diffusion, Information et Communication (1:04) "Quantum Rain Club" by Indifferent Spaces is their 6th collection of works and 2nd full length album. Embarking on a mystical journey across Earth, through space, and in spirit, this album's concept appears to be that of an urgent mission to save the planet from some man-made destruction. With solid nostalgic grooves, futuristic downtempo, chaotic break beats, and a plethora of experimental minuets, IS6 is quite a strange and interesting trip. There are more sound-bites here than on any of their previous projects. From the very beginning, all the way through to the end, clips from the original Rainbow Brite and random assorted speeches of cult leaders and figure heads weave in and out of the music guiding the expedition. Overall, Quantum Rain Club seems to be an eccentric or avant-garde voyage through some transitional dark world which ultimately emerges triumphantly into the light. A keen ear for concepts and a few good listens are definitely required to fully digest this one. released July 22, 2013 ----------------------- foobar2000 1.3.5 / Замер динамического диапазона (DR) 1.1.1 Tracklist:

With some songs slightly adjusted, remixed and/or remastered, this album is an exemplary selection of their finest masterpieces with a natural and smooth sequence flow. All full length songs here, no minuets, except for "8/19/13 5:07 AM" which is a 15 second piece that seems to appear on the album for the soul purpose of separating the 20 previously released songs from 2 previously unreleased mash-up bonus tracks: "Manipulating the Boards" [a mash-up of Boards of Canada samples] and "Playing with Food" [a mash-up of DJ Food 'Kaleidoscope' samples]. Aside from the main drum loop in both instrumentals, all the samples are of each artist respectively. There are a plethora of great recognizable clips in each track, all sliced, diced and strewn together with other more obscured samples that have been warped, re-pitched, and/or reversed to create an entirely new trip hop vibe. The bonus tracks are refreshing and definite standouts in an overall classic collection of excellent numbers from Indifferent Spaces. It serves as a precursor to the upcoming IS8 album "Припять 1970" which is a concept album about the abandoned city of Pripyat, and is to be released on 04.26.14 (the 28th aniversary of the Chernobyl disaster) to bring awareness to the problems associated with nuclear power. In-line with this concept, "IS?" has been appropriately released on the nostalgic floppy disk technology of the 80's and 90's, which captures the 4 tracks in all of their 349kb lo-fi glory, further alluding to the illusion that radiation has melted the tracks. The digital download includes both lo-fi versions (as they appear on the Floppy Disk) and the original high quality studio versions. The music attempts to capture assorted nostalgias and vibes related to various eras of the small city of Pripyat, in which its population of nearly 50,000 people was evacuated a few days after the ill-fated incident occurred. Each song on the album swiftly switches gears from track to track, back and forth between exuding the city’s pre-disaster wistfulness of the 70’s- to the urgent distress of the accident in ‘86- to the post-apocalyptic atmosphere of the landscape that now exists. IS7 was designed to be an eerie, groove-ridden and thought-provoking expedition meant to spark the listener’s curiosity into exploring more about the situation that occurred in Pripyat and the consequential perils of nuclear energy. Welcome to Pripyat. This small city is but a microcosm of the potential outcome of our entire planet, proving that the atrocities created from nuclear power far outweigh its benefits. We as an intelligent race have created plenty of alternative green energy technologies that can more than sustain the world’s needs if thoroughly and passionately embraced. Fossil fuels are no longer necessary nor is nuclear power, which contrary to popular belief, does not ultimately support green objectives. It is imperative for our survival as a species that we harness renewable forms of energy from the Sun, the Wind and the Ocean. Indeed, we know how to do this, however, these green technologies are not being fully utilized and are primarily ignored due to industry and corporate gain. If action is not taken to promptly employ renewable energy technologies and to dismantle nuclear plants responsibly, our future as a human race is bleak at best. Beware the facade of the snakes. The information concerning the safety of nuclear energy put forth by government agencies such as The United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and the corporate industry i.e. General Electric (GE) is manipulated. The truth is ignored, hidden or outright falsified. The real truth is that nuclear energy facilities create radioactive waste, which is responsible for all types of cancer including that of the lungs, breast and thyroid. Subsequently, cancer is sufficiently higher in populations surrounding nuclear facilities. Almost all nuclear plants leak radiation and every exposure to radiation is a potential over exposure. Not only is radiation and radioactive waste continuously emanating from these facilities but also, disasters are inevitable, and a nuclear disaster is no small thing. The accidents at Three Mile Island PA, US in 1979 and in Chernobyl, UA in 1986 are responsible for countless cancer related cases and deaths within the past decades. The Chernobyl disaster alone released a hundred times more radiation than the atom bombs dropped on Nagasaki and Hiroshima in WWII. The by- products of nuclear energy and its inescapable accidents are fundamentally in complete contrast with overall human existence, biologically and economically. In addition to the aforementioned health hazards, the cleanup costs of the disaster at Chernobyl, by itself, exceeded the economic benefits derived from all other nuclear power reactors operating (54) in the Soviet Union. Chernobyl is still bubbling and will be radioactive for at least 100,000 years. “The risk/reward is so different in nuclear power that one bad day at one facility can wipeout decades of good days at dozens of other facilities.” -David Lochbaum, Nuclear Engineer Furthermore, the 2011 earthquakes and ensuing reactor meltdowns at Fukushima in Japan are possibly worse than any other nuclear accident in history, with tons of nuclear waste leaking into the ocean everyday and Reactor Number 4 still unstable. Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO), whose nuclear reactors were built by GE, has attempted to somewhat successfully cover-up how detrimental this ongoing catastrophe is. In reality, not only is the Pacific ocean becoming increasingly contaminated and reaching the western coast of the US, but if Reactor 4 is not properly handled, a potential atomic chain reaction of the 6 reactor facility could render the entire northern hemisphere of the planet uninhabitable. The top resources of the world are not being exploited to tame the Fukushima calamity due to the gross mishandling of information by the Japanese government and their utter denial regarding how unstable the situation actually is. This should be quite eye opening. Globally, there are around 450 commercial nuclear reactors. The United States alone has 104, more than any other country. The human race may have already reached the point of no return, but as long as there is life, there is hope. It seems we have been quick to brush off such nuclear disasters because the larger danger is incremental and not seen immediately. But we are now beginning to comprehend the full range of devastation produced by the Chernobyl incident and within a decade or so; the impact of Fukushima will be evident. In closing, we leave you with something to consider. Indian Point is a nuclear facility, which is located in Buchanan, NY, US, 34 miles north of Times Square. A 50-mile evacuation zone is required during a nuclear emergency. 20 million people live and work within 50 miles of Indian Point. There is no viable evacuation plan in place in the case of an emergency. The Indian Point nuclear power facility is situated on 2 fault lines that have the potential of rendering a 7.0 earthquake. A nuclear plant is given a 40-year license from the time it is built. Indian Point is one of the oldest and most problematic facilities in the US and is up for relicensure, which if granted, would allow the plant to operate for an additional 20 years. The NRC is not only moving towards relicensing Indian Point, but has relicensed every other old nuclear facility in the country that has applied; without proper safety upgrades due to additional capital expenses. This information is alarming. The situation is not under control. Nuclear energy is not a necessity and the current powers that be are lying to you. Please take the time to do your own research and learn what you can do help divert our culture from its current trajectory towards self-annihilation. Sincerely with love, Indifferent Spaces released April 26, 2014 ----------------------- foobar2000 1.3.5 / Замер динамического диапазона (DR) 1.1.1 Tracklist:

IS8. Mostly slower and mid tempo lower-fi trip-hop pieces with some of the fattest, gnarliest boom-bap beats ever concocted and/or manipulated and warped by the artist. Without question, IS8 is the most unrefined album they have ever produced and is full of sloppy yet tightly wound samples layered with live instruments and intriguing soundscapes. Every bombastic track is coated with a perfect film of scuzz and grime; its own unique nostalgic veneer. In fact, as stated in the description of some of the YouTube videos for this specific project, all of the songs were created using a technique to enhance that grime: "Note: All of the music from IS8 has been created using old analog equipment and instruments, half broken drum machines and samplers, pumped through assorted vintage guitar and bass amplifiers and recorded onto 1-track and 4-track cassette recorders, then finally shoveled into this digital cyber landfill of endless wretch.” Furthermore, Elexen, the driving force and creator behind Indifferent Spaces was fairly candid when asked about the concept of the album. He stated: “Well, I have always had this thought that when I die, I just want to be thrown on the floor of some forest and simply rot there on the surface till I just blend in with the dirt. I never want to be buried or burned or anything. Just let the weather and the bugs and animals do with me as they please. With this particular album, I thought about that a lot. With most of these songs, I started creating little soundtracks to that vibe of just rotting in peace. As if my soul was sort of wafting around my dead body emanating some residual essence while my husk slowly decays back into the Earth. I’d say that’s mainly the concept. That, and some of it is just my usual experimenting.” You can actually hear the breakdown of equipment, tape machine hiss, overdriven distortion and other anomalies on many tracks, and their lo-fi quality is not flawlessly produced as numerous other artists have replicated in the genre. In other words, this album is very crude or even undigested at times, however, the rawness on these songs only adds to the affect the music has on the listener, enhancing the overall sound faithfully. And although the tracks on IS8 seem sort of haphazard and randomly sequenced, it somehow comes together in a complete sophistication and is total ear candy for trip-hop heads and anyone who loves a distinct musical experience. A fine mix of electronic and analog, this collection of beats definitely goes deep into all layers of the natural world, be it earthly or ethereal, decomposing and dissipating sublimely into the ears with a good set of headphones. Someone from the distant future may look back on this as an archeological gem of sound. A sound seemingly dug up from some lost civilization that no longer exists. released February 19, 2015 ----------------------- foobar2000 1.3.5 / Замер динамического диапазона (DR) 1.1.1 Tracklist:

Indeed, Indifferent Spaces is undoubtedly becoming known for their distinct usage and range of samples and soundbites. Each song is a unique trip of its own, and the album as a whole, is a wild expedition that runs the gamut of emotions, taking the participant on a journey through some cool groovy trip hop masterpieces into some of the most unnerving and menacing music they've produced thus far. Even though the tracks are exceptionally well crafted, a couple of them are a bit disturbing and hearing them just once may be enough. Other tracks are glitchy trip hop ear candy that you may want to put on repeat.
