The original tape was a good 90 minutes long- too long to fit on one CD. Economic considerations probably ruled out putting out two CDs, but the approach they wound up taking- hacking huge chunks out of nearly every song in order to squeeze it onto a single CD- strikes me as singularly unsympathetic, especially when you wind up being so overzealous in doing so that you manage to find room for a not-nearly-as-good "bonus track" and still have room left over on the disc. Fortunately, the one track to escape this treatment is the centerpiece of the disc, "Modimidofre", which was later cut down to a mere 17 minutes and released as "Pictures" on their debut LP. I'm not nearly as inclined towards the "longer is better" school as I used to be, but this longer version really is much improved for the extra ten minutes, and considering the high caliber of the "Symphonic Pictures" LP that's saying quite a lot indeed.
Anyway, worth hearing, but the bootleg is, unfortunately, even more worth hearing. Good luck finding a copy. REM GENRE "Progressive Rock" Exact Audio Copy V0.99 prebeta 4 from 23. January 2008 3380350341 99781292 01. tao.wav Для того, чтобы скачать .torrent Вам необходимо зарегистрироваться |
