The album explores several textures; ranging from the heavy, fast-paced and aggressive synth-oriented tracks that deliver the concept with a punch, to slow, melancholic moments of pristine acoustic beauty where everything becomes clear. Some of the songs meant a lot to me at some point or another but for whatever reason never saw the light of day. Other songs eventually turned into other, perhaps more familiar, things. Others were simply recorded completely independently of other albums and so had got lost to time. All of the recordings on FORMLESS I are as they were when they were left. I tried hard to remix the tracks to bring them into 2017 but the downside is a lot of their original charm was lost. As a result, FORMLESS I feels fragmented, and isn't always comfortable to listen to. But here they are; and if they mean something to you then great, if not then also great. THE SACRED Recorded for an album called Influx in early 2014. LIES Recorded as a stand-alone song in early 2016 WARRIORS An early track from the Apophenia sessions. Mid-2016. MAYBE, I Recorded for Influx in 2014. OPEN EYED Recorded as a part of Aftershocks but never fit on the album. One of my favourite In Sequence songs ever. Late 2015. This will be revisited one day. HOW WE DIE Recorded the same time as the High Rise EP. Early 2016. WE ARE LIKE THE SUN A song from the Apophenia project that never quite fit. Mid 2016. THIS SILENCE (ALTERNATE MIX) This simple version of This Silence was originally going to close the Apophenia EP, but was eventually left off.
