The Gateway EP is a sensational aural depiction of the process of a hero’s trial and growth, a progressive tale of madness grounded by heavy drums & evolving basslines, surrounded by nebulous atmospheres. Including previously released artists as well as new talent, this compilation once again displays the incredible skill, variety, and collaborative efforts of like-minded electronic music producers who contribute to the netlabel and its adjacent forum. idmforums.com IDMf010 explores the musical idea of balance, each track complimenting the other in a way that creates a seamless album of electronic music touching on (and sometimes crossing over) multiple genres: breaks, dnb, dubstep, IDM, ambient, downtempo, industrial, and more. 01. Fidelium - God Tank (5:13) 02. Fidelium - God Tank (Tuneboxii Remix) (4:45) 03. Fidelium - God Tank (Toronto is Broken Remix) (6:20) 04. Fidelium - God Tank (IG88 Remix) (4:54) 05. Fidelium - God Tank (The Verb Remix) (8:57) Featured on the recent IDMf Netlabel compilation IDMf010: Between the Silence and Story, the track “God Tank” by Fidelium is a gritty, electronic-orchestral conquest displaying a film-epic melodic scheme layered over a hard-hitting beat. Immediately following the original version are four remixes by some of my [Fidelium] most-respected and favorite artists on IDMf (a tiny handful out of a very large amount.) Each interpretation is a whole new variation of the spirit and theme behind “God Tank”, telling a completely fresh story from the same sets of sounds, to the point that I consider this to be God Tank: Movements I-V. It is a fantastic balance of color, and I am extremely pleased with the creativity behind each remix. The orchestra tunes and the double basses begin the steady rhythm of “God Tank” and at the opening of the original mix we are given the theme: a pizzicato arpeggio circulated by chromatic tones and longing, distant bells. From tuneboxii, who is known for his nasty, experimental dubstep tracks, the listener is taken down a different path. With syncopated tempos and tasteful distortion, tuneboxii twists “God Tank” into a gyspy-electronic anthem. After tuneboxii’s mangling of an already-mangled piece comes Toronto Is Broken’s dance flavor with a pumping sub bass and future garage rhythms. After this club-worthy explosion by Toronto Is Broken, IG88 brings us back down into his beautiful ambient mist, with a guitar-laden ballade that transitions into a foot-tapping hiphop track without warning. Finally, the epic recapitulation is handled by the perfect man for such a job: The Verb. “God Tank” is thus taken to a new height with this stellar composition and skillful craft. It is with these four remixes that I feel that “God Tank” is complete. I am very lucky and proud to have my work enhanced by these talented producers, and I am overly obliged and happy to release this collection through IDMf for you, the listener. released 13 January 2011 Original music by Fidelium All tracks mastered by Fidelium Cover painting by Fidelium ----------------------- foobar2000 1.3.5 / Замер динамического диапазона (DR) 1.1.1 Tracklist:

Just as you fall into a blissful slumber you suddenly wake up again, only you haven't really woken up, you're still unconscious, just lucid, unexpectedly thrown into a dream where the world around you is a giant computer and its various components make wonderful sounds that match the glitchy beats and the futuristic synths. So imagine now that you are in these two different places. You walk through computer glitch city where everything is dark science fiction but you look to the sky and all you can see is the room where you sleep. In that room, the unconscious you can hear the birds singing outside. The unconscious you can hear rainfall, someone playing the piano, someone playing a guitar. This is what μ-metik's Paths feels like, being lost in a computer dream as the sleeping you feeds a subconscious stream of natural sounds down from the sky. Paths can't easily be categorized to a single genre. The contrast of the acoustic instruments to the electronic glitches and synths creates a unique imagery. The recordings and gentle ambience next to the dark broody pulse of the music and a sound design all its own, μ-metik has hit on something that demands your attention. THANKS. μ-metik would like to thank Freesound.org and all the people there involved, for being such an invaluable source of samples, and sound design inspiration. The first sample pack is a collection of various resonances recorded from the Menai Suspension Bridge in Wales. The second sample pack, Organic Adventures, is various foley recorded in a forest by IDMf'ers Mischjok and FunkMasterBrown. The sampled nature of the release makes for a different set of sounds than most will be used to. With conventional synthesis techniques prohibited, most of these songs eschew conventional melody in favour of interesting rhythms, textural sounds and a strong percussive element. Seriously, the kick drums made from these samples will happily punch a hole through your chest. Change the Noise pushes towards the loud, aggressive side of the IDMf catalogue. The first thing to note is that Sounds For Skeletons has a promo video compiling various pieces of footage sent in by IDMf members. Over 18 minutes in length, the video moves through the footage in a style sometimes reminiscent of 60's psychedelia with its violent colours, sometimes chaotic with its sudden edits and fast pace, sometimes ambient with the way it slows down and relaxes you into its dreamy visuals and gentle music. We might not be here to talk about the video but it's a good reflection on its sibling album. As with any open genre compilation there is variety expressed through different artists offering songs of different types of music, this variety strung together with a common thread. With a forum and a netlabel specializing in electronic music one could often take that to be the very thread in question but there's something else. Whilst offering a mixed palette a lot of these songs seem to share a commonality in two unique and particular things, the first being a slight exotic feel both in the composition and the sounds and textures that have been created. The second is a penchant towards noisy, abrasive sounds, not so aggressive that they're tough listening but enough to create an interesting contrast to the gentler side of things. But don't take my word for it. It's free. Free music. Go and grab it, go watch and listen and see and hear and decide for yourself what threads run through this great compilation. released 01 May 2013 Netlabel organized by the idmforums.com community Artwork: Jazzyspoon - Layout: Scyn Video Editing: Bethan Hughes Video Footage: idmforums.com community Mastering: Ben "Benwaa" Walthew - benwaa.com idmforums.com label.idmf@gmail.com IDMfNetlabel is a creative commons project Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs CC BY-NC-ND ----------------------- foobar2000 1.3.5 / Замер динамического диапазона (DR) 1.1.1 Tracklist:

Kris Cadwell - Essence of Ashes (3:46) Anyone with a good eye for cartoons would surely have to second guess themselves if they tried to overlook an album featuring a tribute to Adventure Time. Kris Cadwell's Just Grow opens with Zos, an array of synth goodness and wonderfully squelchy sound design that somewhat masks the mysterious melody and mature composition that lurks behind it. A Tribute to Adventure Time follows, miniature assaults of a kick drum, quiet and gentle but rapid nonetheless, sitting behind mad cymbals and electronic snare rolls with a composition that nods toward the golden era of video game soundtracks. Even the song titles are notably interesting. New Game seems to reflect the glitchy lo-fi influences of the album, whilst "A Russian Novel" seems to evoke pure intrigue and mystery, and you have to love the name "'Kitten Battle in Space". Just Grow is a delightful collage of crafted contrasts and originality. Doubled up snares spit and stutter, cymbals snapped and broken over quiet piano like synthesisers. Perfectly designed glitches satisfy the ears as they work hypnotic backgrounds. The composition is deep and thoughtful. It's refreshing to hear an artist who can write music to be both melancholy and playful at the same time, with a myriad of crafted sounds and new ideas to boot. released 01 August 2013 Project organizing by the idmforums.com community Art by Kris Cadwell / layout: scyn Video by Noodles Mastering by Ben “Benwaa” Walthew ----------------------- foobar2000 1.3.5 / Замер динамического диапазона (DR) 1.1.1 Tracklist:

Silent Strangers - Construction Applied Delicately (3:56) 10. Silent Strangers - 4-14 (6:30) Starting from the get-go with deep chords and and a detailed ambience that moves and sways as it goes, Adrift by Silent Strangers is an example of different styles within the realm of electronic music. It ranges from the wonderfully relaxed and ambient to displays of abrasive noise, old school IDM, interestingly crafted rhythms that change over time and even hints of an advanced form of dubstep. At points the album somehow sounds almost tropical, before again sweeping you away in sharp noise and beat fuelled energy. Silent Strangers uses a great number of different sounds, capturing the imagination in different ways. Dans Kalimba in particular seems to take a refreshing break from the electronic by playing with the sampled, or the seemingly sampled, whichever the case may be. Imagined finger clicks hold the rhythm for a recurring and hypnotic ever changing noise like someone playing the engine of an aeroplane. Dark electronics and filtered synths sit with a digital percussion that plays with all the natural and organic qualities of human drumming. At times, in the background, distant sounds play out quieter melodies, creating a wonderful second layer that has to be concentrated on, listened out for, a whole other story of far off intrigue that sits behind the glitchy IDM. The way all these different components fit together so well, with great attention to composition, brilliant sound design and a fair few hints of mystery throughout, with a beautiful ambient opening and a beautiful ambient piece to close the album, makes this an essential listen released 01 September 2013 Production & Design: Christopher Lombardo Mastering: Ben "Benwaa" Walthew ----------------------- foobar2000 1.3.5 / Замер динамического диапазона (DR) 1.1.1 Tracklist:

IDMf042 VA - Metaphase is exactly where, not only does the release include some forum favourites and some new talent, they've come together in a collaboration to bring us something that only multiple minds could. Glitchy, bassy, funky, emotive and just plain amazing are some of the words that come to mind when listening to this album, words that we're sure you'll find yourself using when telling people about what you've heard. released 18 November 2013 Netlabel organized by the idmforums.com community Art: Scyn Mastering: Ben "Benwaa" Walthew benwaa.com ----------------------- foobar2000 1.3.5 / Замер динамического диапазона (DR) 1.1.1 Tracklist:

RFJ - Morning (3:28) The IDMf netlabel proudly presents Of Storybook and Sound by RFJ, a five track EP that cleverly mixes minimalism and IDM with glitchy breakbeat rhythms and layers of darkness and mystery that seem to have characters all their own. A girl’s voice can be heard in the opening track, her words echoing as she sees a light and exclaims “maybe they can help us”. The listener is cleverly kept at bay from the origin of such a story and is instead pushed by the music to create their own imagery and their own story. The girl, sometimes nearby, sometimes far away, continues to narrate throughout. Her voice cuts up, repeats and turns into mountainous echoes that continue to build over rolling glitchy drums and synths that crunch and glide. Of Storybook and Sound can be both creepy and comforting at the same time, both homely and exotic, and with a strong sense of dynamic it stops and starts to make you listen. At points it makes you wonder what you’re really hearing, it makes you wonder what’s happening, but it doesn’t leave you frustrated like a cryptic puzzle or an unsolved mystery. of Storybook and Sound inflames the imagination and paints so many different pictures all at once. In a "A Version Of Me", RFJ takes us on a trip that is just as personal and as thought provoking as this release. Talking us through his own personal journey into darkness and back into light culminating in these tracks as an aural archive of that journey. *Bonus PDF "RFJ - A Version Of Me" with full album released 26 January 2014 Vocals on tracks 1-4 CDJ Vocals on track 5 CDJ / IFJ All tracks written and produced by RFJ Mastering: Ben "Benwaa" Walthew IDMfNetlabel is organized by the idmforums community ----------------------- foobar2000 1.3.5 / Замер динамического диапазона (DR) 1.1.1 Tracklist:

Nyul - Floatfall (5:26) The IDMf netlabel is proud to present When the Path Fades, a dark and compelling EP by Nyul. Guitars and pianos play wistful melodies behind haunting ambient tones. The EP contains no percussion, an artistic choice that would leave a lot of music sounding empty and directionless in its pace and rhythm, but works brilliantly for Nyul. Nothing is missing. Every sound and every note serves a purpose. The music inspires a lot of imagery, partially through its attention to detail. A distant whistle behind a growling bass, noises with timbres that subtly change, all add to the nuances of the picture that is painted. At times powerful and dramatic, at times minimal, calm, melancholy and sometimes totally still, When the Path Fades is beautiful in its melancholy. Dropping hints of post-rock onto a bed of dark and ambient electronica, it feels almost orchestral in its outlook. released 18 August 2014 Netlabel organized by the idmforums.com community All tracks written & produced by Nyul Mastered by Mike Watts Artwork by Faktori - faktori.tumblr.com ----------------------- foobar2000 1.3.5 / Замер динамического диапазона (DR) 1.1.1 Tracklist:

It represents different concepts, different styles, and different meanings to both listener and artist. In no greater way will life experience and influence come together to produce such a result as they do within the realm of creative discovery. With the eagerly anticipated release of IDMf047, the premier forum-based IDMf Netlabel returns with an eclectic compilation of 13 member submitted tracks. Each selection displays this concept of experience and influence with full force. From the ethereal and sometimes dark ambient glitch of Circus Of Mind, Algebraic, and Professureal, SmokeFades’s guitar laden epic, and ferocious breaks from Cameron and UcoB, here we present a solid return to a wider scope. This compilation represents the diverse user-base and the IDMforums as a whole. IDMf047 promises to be the guide on a journey through the minds of 13 artists while tapping straight into the heart of the listener. While the new IDMf Netlabel release, Achluophobia, calls itself “dark techno” it explores everything from Techno’s experimental glitches, to its black out party bangers, from chugging club grooves to shadowy dub explorations. These songs are unique in that as much as the stay true to the incessant grooves of Techno, they take the time to explore the dark side of Techno timbres with synth sounds colder than deep space, undulating atmospheres, and echoscapes which are ocean deep. With a huge roster of 20+ tracks by the best IDMf community artists, Achluophobia, satisfies both body and mind. released November 23, 2017 Mastering by James Pingel. One being there are now even more voices struggling to be heard, even more musicians trying to make it to the head of the pack. Obscurity is an EP directly about this conundrum, it’s about accepting obscurity. “…if I’m going to lock myself in my studio every night and scream into the void, I might as well try to brighten the void up a little…” says Radiophile, the Dublin-based producer behind the Obscurity EP. Like many of us, Radiophile has done a little bit of everything. Sagan’s image, coined “Pale Blue Dot”, would forever challenge our perspective on ourselves and our imagined self-importance. RFJ - A Reflection (3:32) 06. XVF - Manhattan Project (2:59) 24Bit We didn’t know what to expect when we asked IDMforums what IDM was to them in 2020. Since it’s inception, IDM has spanned a multitude of genres and styles. We’ve given genre prompts to the community over the last few years from house to dark techno and imposed limitations on the creative process by forcing them to use one synth or to collaborate with each other. We’ve done all that, but we haven’t asked them for their interpretation of IDM in a long time. The answers we got surprised us. XVF gave us a new spin on his unique style of IDM with a more driven beat than ever from him. RFJ came at it with a cinematic twist on found sound and ambience. Dr Itchers made a lo-fi piece that breaks all the rules so flagrantly it has to be compelling. arcsec brought exactly what we would expect IDM to be in the midst of everything that surprised us (making this track surprising in its own way). all the morphic oceans brought another cinematic piece that takes the listener on an auditory journey. And Make Us Whole sent in a piece that hits like a bass track with the spaciousness of an ambient piece. In all this, we found an EP that takes the listener on a sonic journey that we feel defines the sound of IDM today. Take a listen and see if you agree. released July 24, 2020 Cover by Creepr Mastering by James Pingel All songs by members of the IDMforums. We wanted to try something new, and have been inspired by many such sample packs recently released and enjoyed by artists like ourselves. The name says it all on this release: Glitch. We mangled and twisted and messed about with all sorts of material to bring you a set of scritchy scratchy sonic building blocks. We hope they insipire! released May 14, 2020 Cover art: James Bell Contributing forum members: Metaside xSANTAxDURSTx Bfk Gaki TaleTwist Creepr foobar2000 1.2.5 / Dynamic Range Meter 1.1.1 В раздаче отсутствуют следующие релизы, которые в данный момент недоступны:
