With completely clouded ideas of what my future would be like; I had reached utter disappointment with my surroundings, my closest friends, and ultimately myself. With this experience I wrote these tracks to propel myself forward into the next progression of my life. Which for me. Meant growth. A lot of these songs were written with the intention of bringing on a vocalist but through the production I had not met anyone at this point that I believed would be right. Tracklist: 01.Tangled Memories - Similar Obligation (3:30) After releasing this single I had realized my music was going to be going into a completely different direction after my last release 'Darkening Garden.' During the production of this track I was also in the beginning stages of writing a new album and this track fell short of making the cut. It was showing a lot of the darker elements I have maintained throughout most of my albums that I was trying to progress from in order to produce and album that stabilized itself within my current life. Having felt a lot of my dreams were unattainable in Lansing, MI - I had made an impulse decision to move to Chicago, IL with my girlfriend Caeli Allison. We got rid of 90% of our possessions, which felt incredible freeing. In doing so, I abandoned a lot of music equipment that I had been using over the years so when I was getting settled into our new living situation I had to work with what I had. That has always been something that was more enabling to me that restricting. From there I started working within the perimeters of the programs in order to produce something that fit my current state of being. That being said I am looking forward to the next release of Tangled Memories. I think a lot of you will be surprised where I will be taking my music next. And although they can contribute they should not be the source. Of course nothing is black and white and there are an incredible amount of variables to consider in each of our own unique experiences.
In my life I have struggled with this and it took me a very long time to become conscious of it and it is something that I still continue to work at everyday. The past year my experiences have allowed me to become more aware of the amount of things outside of myself that I was requiring in order to be happy, feel loved or successful. I pushed away all of my darkness as a fight or flight response to a traumatic experience and eventually fell into a type of depression that at the time I was unsure of whether or not I would return from. It wasn’t until I realized that nothing outside of myself truly could bring me the happiness I was looking for and that I needed to find it within myself that I finally began to see the world differently and make an effort to change the conditioning of my mind. This album is a reflection of those experiences. My hope is for this album to impact others in the way that creating it has for me. The universe has always led me back to myself and during my lowest of times having music that understood the range of emotions I was feeling has always been something I’ve held onto to help me get through it. released June 8, 2018
