Other tracks such as "Darkroom Distortion" and "Geiga" use turbulent sheets of white noise, alongside classical instruments to create an eerie, almost ghostlike quality. No represses will be made in this format. The first release features the tracks "Cocoon" and "Saphron". Artwork by Masaki Okezawa. "Cocoon" uses low-end pressure and dub-like delay to create an ever-rising, constantly evolving sound, with an intensity matched only by it's sensitivity. "Saphron" is pure melancholia, with melodic padwork and drifting textures, reminiscent of the most haunting moments from Hypersona, but taken even deeper into the abyss. The digital version includes the bonus track "Saphron Drowning" which is a moodier, darker edit of the original. It is music for the earliest of hours, lighting a candle of sound that illuminates any headspace. released March 30, 2011 Artwork by Masaki Okezawa AUDIOCHECKER v2.0 beta (build 457) - by Dester - opdester@freemail.hu Аудиокодек: FLAC (*.flac)

Shadow Play (After Dark Reprise) (4:31) Total length: 39:00 There’s always private pleasure in seeing beauty where others don’t. Sometimes it’s just a case of the personal outweighing the spectacular but in a part of the world as vast and stunning as Yorkshire, the abundance of scenery makes finding that place an infinitely easier coincidence. Ilkley or ‘Heather Spa’ is one such place for 36 aka Dennis Huddleston. A moorland area on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, it’s served as both a place of escape and inspiration. “It’s a place I’ve visited many times at various stages of my life,” he begins, “coming from Bradford, which has had its fair share of social and economic problems over the years, Ilkley provided an escape from the city and is somewhere me and my friends spent many days and nights. It isn't the largest, nor the most beautiful countryside in England, but it has an undeniable charm that’s felt by everyone who’s visited.” You feel that connection throughout ‘Heather Spa’. It’s one of familiarity and rejuvenation with the exhale of the strings evoking happiness and a gazing contentment. ‘Heather Spa (Burning)’ is just as poised and gentle with its slow, weaving melodies and whilst it’s more clouded and subdued, it leaves a determinedly resonant impression. “There was a huge fire in 2006 which destroyed vast areas of the moorland,” Dennis explains. “I had visited it only a few days prior and the lush green land was replaced by charred cinders, completely decimating the landscape. It was quite a sight to behold and there was an undeniable melancholy in the air. Reseeding efforts and the tough will of nature has reversed most of the damage and Ilkley Moor is alive once again.” The initial inspiration for the ‘Shadow Play’ album, this final instalment of ‘Heather Spa’ marks the culmination of Dennis’ personal trilogy, and helps the ‘Heather Spa EP’ feel like a very natural conclusion to a journey of transition, progression and redemption. "It's come full-circle in a way,” Dennis muses, “Heather Spa as a concept was the catalyst for my latest album 'Shadow Play' and you can see three distinct yet fully-connected chapters on what is a single story; the inception with Heather Spa, the realisation with Shadow Play, and finally with this EP for the ASIP Places Series, an epilogue. I think they're some of the most emotional pieces of music I've worked on and I hope you enjoy taking this final journey with me, right back at the place where it started." released 11 November 2013 All tracks written and produced by Dennis Huddleston AUDIOCHECKER v2.0 beta (build 457) - by Dester - opdester@freemail.hu Аудиокодек: FLAC (*.flac)

I took a year out and made no tunes at all during this time. Around January 2013, I bought some new gear, invested time in my studio, removed all distractions around me and started work on what would eventually be a new 36 album. I got myself into the mind frame I did when I quit my day job 5 years ago and started work on my début, Hypersona; no expectations, no pressure, no bullshit. Just making music for fun again. 6 months later, "Shadow Play" was finished. It still has that glowing melancholy I just can't seem to shake from my music, but in a very different way to the pitch-black isolation of Lithea. I wanted it to be inspirational as well as downcast; playful as well as moody. I don't want to write music that is discarded when the next big trend or genre blows up. Stasis Eject (Version) (12:11) Total length: 29:53 "The title track "Pulse Dive" is a personal favourite of mine, which I have kept under wraps for a while, but now is the time to release it. I actually started the track 5 years ago during the "Hollow" era, and it was originally going to be the first track on that album. I eventually scrapped it, as that album morphed into it's own thing and this tune felt like an anomaly. I didn't forget about it though and each year since, I went back to it, slowly adding bits, re-working existing sections with new-found production knowledge, replacing the bits that didn't work etc.. It was basically a long-term experiment for me, but I made a conscious effort during the closing months of 2014 after the death of a friend to finish the track and draw a line under it. The realisation of your own mortality is an amazing catalyst for wanting to finish something. In the end, about 80% of the final production was done in the last week of October! It's funny because despite working so long on it, I was adamant not to make it sound over-produced and I wanted to hang on to those initial vibes, which I felt 5 years ago when I wrote the very first notes. It's a special track for me. I wear my influences on my sleeve with it, but it's still a very personal tune, and I'm so happy to finally get it out there. In contrast, "Stasis Eject" was written in only a few days. Compared to "Pulse Dive", which I felt was a very energetic, upbeat track, this is a much more sombre, ultra-introspective tune, giving a nod to some of my more famous pieces of music in the past, with a wink towards the future. For me, when making it, it gave me visions of stepping out of the Nostromo and seeing the Derelict for the first time. Something so grand, so majestic. A black, alien vastness. It's something I try to do a lot in my music, but with this tune, I felt for the first time that I really succeeded. It's a dark piece of music for sure, but still very human to my ears. Finally, "Sky Fire" ends the EP with a simple, very pretty melodic piano-centric tune. The pads were played live, almost as a kind of jamming session. I have been doing a lot more live (or pseudo-live as I prefer to call it) work over the past year, starting with my last album "Dream Tempest". There's this certain vibe from the moment that is lost if you obsessively program and quantize everything you make and sometimes it's better just to let the brain disconnect and let the heart take control. Any mistakes I just left in. It felt like a fitting end to the EP. Less intense than what came before, a kind of sign-off." - 36 "Pulse Dive" is released on 3six Recordings in January 2015 on limited 12" vinyl + 24bit digital. released January 2, 2015 All tracks written and produced by 36. It will be another 40,000 years until it reaches the next star. Long after we are all gone, it will still be orbiting around the centre of our galaxy, on a billion year journey into the unknown. What remains is a love letter to the rest of the universe, whispering who we were and what we managed to achieve. From an insignificant planet, on a pins head in our galaxy, we told the rest of the cosmos we are alive. "Sine Dust is a collection of synth-based tracks, which I wrote between December 2014 and February 2015. I wanted to make an EP that had a strictly defined sound and theme, which continued from beginning to end, using a limited array of instruments to tell the story. All tracks are sequenced in the order they were made. In some ways, it's the most minimal record I've made. The sounds are soft, muted and the notes are played with a gentle intensity that hopefully reflects my passion for the stars. Listening back, I find it quite an inspirational, almost-romantic record, yet one which remains undeniably melancholic. That album was incredibly draining for me, and I had to stop working on it multiple times during production, simply because writing music like that for almost a year takes it's toll, both physically and mentally. It was tough, but worth it. It remains one of my most critically and commercially successful works and I'm glad it resonated with so many people. It was also a very prolific period for me, and I was forced to cut many of the tracks, simply to keep the album at a comfortable listening length. I try not to be too precious with my music and if a particular tune doesn't work in the context of an album, then I have no qualms removing it. Anyway, I found the unreleased studio recordings from Lithea earlier this year and gave them another listen, this time with fresh ears and without the restriction of having to work alongside the actual tracks from Lithea itself. What I noticed was that many of these tunes were quite similar in both sound and emotion, but more muted, perhaps a little darker. There were lots of choral-style tracks, similar to 'Deluge' or 'Reunion', but far more minimal, with more emphasis on space and resonance. They were quite strong as individual pieces of music, but after listening to them all, I had the feeling that certain tracks would work better together, as an album of it's own, free of the shackles of Lithea. It gave me something to think about. I spent one weekend in February 2015, carefully selecting the tracks I felt would work best together and experimented with track order, edits, mixdowns etc.. Basically trying to make sense of a bunch of orphan studio sessions, so they became greater than the sum of their parts. I also found a few alternative versions of the Lithea-released tracks, which worked surprisingly well alongside them, as well as a couple of more recent tracks, made outside of the Lithea sessions. They gave me a similar vibe and fit the context of the new album. In the end, I went from over 2 hours of raw studio material and trimmed the whole thing down to just under 40 minutes. As such, I'm happy to present a new companion album to Lithea, which I have titled "Ghost Vault". It's not a sequel or a modern take on Lithea, but rather a different perspective or interpretation of what that era meant to me, using music I created during that period. It's not exactly easy listening music, and fans of my more melodic/uplifting work might be a little alienated by it, but for those of you who like to deep dive into the abyss every now and then, I hope you'll find something quite beautiful in the darkness. released February 6, 2015 All tracks written and produced by 36, between 2010-2014 CAT# 3SIXARCHIVE001 foobar2000 1.3.5 / Замер динамического диапазона (DR) 1.1.1 Аудиокодек: FLAC (*.flac)

"I often do alternative takes of my tracks, mostly for personal exploration rather than a desire to release them publicly. Often by manipulating simple things like pitch, tempo or delay, I discover new harmonies, melodies or sounds, which breathe new life into music I've previously spent days and weeks working on. With this release, I took the techniques I have been developing since 2010 and used them to make these really lush ambient/drone versions of the the entire Sine Dust EP. Mostly keeping the original song structures intact, sounds have been stretched, reversed, pitched up, pitched down, doused in reverb, saturated/compressed, and floating in tape hiss, creating gaseous, long-form interpretations of the original tunes. Cheers! --------- A dynamic, ongoing collection of unreleased tracks, taken from the 36 archives over the years. From individual tunes that never found a place on any official release, to remixes, demo's, sketches, alternate versions etc.. There should be plenty to sink your teeth into. This archive will be updated over time with more tracks, as and when I make them/rediscover them/etc.. Please do not add it to any online database like Discogs, as this is not an official release per-se, but rather a thank-you to the passionate fans like yourself who subscribe to my music and have supported me over the years. Due to the nature of this release and where the music is sourced from, some tracks will be 16bit and some will be 24bit. Some tunes are clearly unfinished and were never meant to be heard in any official capacity. There is also no track order as such. Just think of it as an ever-evolving playlist of oddities from my archive. For best results, put the compilation on shuffle. Room 10 (05:07) Total length: 48:43 After years admiring the work of 36 here on ASIP, we are pleased to announce his new concept album, titled ‘The Infinity Room’. Inspired by his home and studio, Dennis Huddleston aka 36 set out to create an album born from endless possibility. Restricting himself to a limited sound palette, he focused on exploring his own private infinity, allowing even the smallest tangents to develop in a musical multi-verse of limitless potential. “What is just one room (my studio) becomes many rooms when working on music,” Dennis explains. “From this single point, countless possibilities exist and this is where the concept for 'The Infinity Room' takes root. It's the thrill of taking a small idea from an ocean of possibilities, and watching it grow into something far grander." “From the very first track, I made a conscious decision to restrict myself to a limited sound palette,” he adds. “Each track used the same core sounds, but evolves and mutates them in subtle ways, as well as being the direct inspiration for the track that came after.” That intent is clear, with each track a different shade of what came before. Thoughtful tones with a warm, vintage brightness, develop into extended love stories and romantic journeys, speaking to the cinematic influence of pioneers like Tangerine Dream, Vangelis, Brad Fiedel, Charles Bernstein and John Carpenter. “They were masters of creating vivid dream worlds, all of whom created the soundtracks to many of my favourite films,” he admits. “In more recent times, I’ve grown to deeply admire producers like OPN, Disasterpeace, Boards of Canada and Sinoia Caves, and they’ve reinvigorated my love for 70's and 80's era electronic film music.” It all gives ‘The Infinity Room’ the subtle, shifting repetition that has long been a 36 hallmark; each track an ever-evolving reflection, a catalyst, another step into the inestimable. “I just love those driving melodies that dig deep into your head and let the repetition take control, mutating and shifting on a macro level, so you only discover how much it's changed by the very end,” Huddleston smiles. “I think that's what the core of my sound was always about really and it's why each track on this album uses melody as the primary focus, with the keys taking control, and the track evolving with them. Repetition... The sound of infinity.” 36 has been a prolific figure in the modern ambient scene for close to a decade. Beginning with his debut and highly praised album 'Hypersona', Dennis Huddleston has been sharing his own emotive blend of electronic music through his own platforms, as well as labels such as Ultimae Records, Mystic & Quantum, and ICASEA. He also runs his own label 3six Recordings, which he describes as a love affair with the vinyl format. released October 24, 2016 Mastered by Rafael Anton Irisarri @ Black Knoll Studio www.blackknollstudio.com Artwork by Dennis Huddleston (36) foobar2000 1.2.5 / Замер динамического диапазона (DR) 1.1.1 Аудиокодек: FLAC (*.flac)

Most of our planet has already been traversed and catalogued by people who have come before us. Earth, at least from a geographical perspective, has few discoveries left for us. The true unknown lies in the worlds beyond our own. It's likely that in the next few decades, humans will finally have the means to take our first tentative steps on the surface of our neighbouring planet, Mars. We will be the first known species that has both the knowledge and the desire to transcend our existence beyond our home planet and expand further into space. There may even be people alive today whose children will be born on a planet that isn't called Earth. For them, the concept of "home" has a very different meaning to our own. They will be Tomorrow's Explorers, redefining what it means to be human, whilst retaining the very thing that makes us so - our unquenchable thirst to explore the unknown. "Tomorrow's Explorers is the follow-up to my 2015 EP 'Sine Dust'. Usually when I finish a record, I draw a line under it and move onto the next concept, with the explicit desire to do something different. After 'Sine Dust', I felt that there was more of a story to tell. Space is a pretty big place! Whereas 'Sine Dust' was a 100% synthesiser-based record, 'Tomorrow's Explorers' expands the sound gamut considerably, introducing heavy string-based sections, that work alongside the synths and pads to create expansive, enveloping walls of sound. This culminates in the 13 minute title track, which I feel is one of my most audibly rich, melodically complex tracks to date. Drawing influence from every other record I've made, whilst taking the sound to new and unfamiliar places, 'Tomorrow's Explorers' is sure to please fans both old and new. The endless themes of space have been explored countless times by artists in the past. It's a limitless source of inspiration for many of us and always a joy to discover. As usual, I hope you enjoy where it takes you." -36 ++++++++ The Tomorrow's Explorers Versions are exclusive to this Bandcamp release and free for all who purchase the digital or vinyl version. released January 30, 2017 All tracks written & produced by 36 Artwork & design by Patrick Bunn & 36 Mastered by Rafael Anton Irisarri @ Black Knoll Studio, New York 3SIXEP003 © 3six Recordings 2017 All rights reserved foobar2000 1.2.5 / Замер динамического диапазона (DR) 1.1.1 Аудиокодек: FLAC (*.flac)

Whereas those records were often romantic and other-worldly sounding, I wanted 'Black Soma' to be more grounded in the realities and struggles of people living on our own planet, today. Tracks like 'Black Soma' and 'Black Halcyon' see a return to the emotionally-charged choral sound of classic 36 tunes like 'Reunion', whereas, the synth-dominated 'Black Sun' and 'Black Future' radiate with the kind of mechanical warmth I just love. For me, the most memorable music skirts the line between sadness and exhilaration, and I feel this has always been at the core of my music, just like it's at the heart of all people. On August 25, 2012, the Voyager 1 spacecraft left our solar system and entered interstellar space, making it's new home in the vast gulf between the stars. I hope you like it" - 36 released April 15, 2015 All tracks written and produced by 36 © 3six recordings 2015 All rights reserved 3SIXEP002 Cassini imaging / Photography by NASA/JPL-Caltech/Space Science Institute foobar2000 1.2.5 / Замер динамического диапазона (DR) 1.1.1 Аудиокодек: FLAC (*.flac)

It contains a selection of 6 predominantly piano-based tape loops, exploring the themes of isolation and escapism, through a Cyberpunk-inspired lens. For me, Cyberpunk is about people living on the fringes of society, finding ways to deal with the hardships they face, through the manipulation and exploitation of technology. It's a genre/aesthetic I've always loved and its influence has always seeped into my music." - 36 "Circuit Bloom" serves as a companion to an upcoming 36 album, providing a prelude for what is to come later this year. It's the perfect soundtrack for standing outside the balcony of your high-rise apartment, watching the rain fall onto the city at night. It is available on limited edition (100 copies) C30 cassette and digital/streaming. Тип рипа: tracks Продолжительность: 5:54 Наличие сканов в содержимом раздачи: cover Tracklist: 1. Aphantasia (05:54) Credits Written-By, Producer – 36 36 is the alias of Dennis Huddleston, who has been a prolific and leading figure in the modern ambient scene for close to a decade. Beginning with his debut album Hypersona, he has been sharing his own highly emotive blend of electronic music, which has melted the hearts of music lovers around the globe. He has released his music on labels as diverse as A Strangely Isolated Place, Ultimae and Mystic & Quantum. He also runs his own label 3six Recordings, which he describes as a love affair with the vinyl format. The core of the 36 sound is a combination of warm melodies and widescreen atmospheres, that is never shy from the abstract, but one that remains highly accessible. It's dreamy, introspective midnight music, and the perfect soundtrack for your own strangely isolated place. “I recently discovered that a small group of people live without the ability to visualise things in their mind. This condition is known as Aphantasia. It got me thinking about the nature of how we listen to music. When most people listen to ambient music for example, they tend to imagine places, people, colours or memories... It's a genre which is often very easy to visualise, so to know that some people will never get to experience this is both sad and fascinating. I wrote this track exploring what it means to "see" music and whether sound alone is enough to make something beautiful.” The appeal of ambient music for 36 is the freedom it offers - not being locked down to strict BPM ranges or certain audio palettes can lead to some truly wonderful music. He cites as his musical references Aphex Twin, William Basinski, Boards of Canada, Tangerine Dream and The Future Sound of London. released May 18, 2018 ----------------------- foobar2000 1.2.5 / Замер динамического диапазона (DR) 1.1.1 Аудиокодек: FLAC (*.flac)

Umbra (Version) (07:46) "Exactly 10 years ago this month, I finished my debut album Hypersona. In the decade since its release, I feel I've explored many avenues to my sound, but I will always have a fondness for those tracks where everything is stripped bare, letting just the pads and the chords tell the story. I think it's a timeless sound and allows the listener to completely detach themselves from their environment. I've long been fascinated with the idea of Ego Death, but not from a spiritual or psychedelic perspective. I think music alone has the power to allow people to lose all sense of self in the sound. For this release, I selected 4 tracks from my recent (and currently ongoing) 2018 Audio Diary compilation, which were particularly close to my heart. All tracks use the same core instruments, but the arrangements take very different paths. I revisited the studio files to make final edits/adjustments, which were then elegantly mastered by Stephan Mathieu, at his new studio in Germany. These aren't tracks to tear up your speakers. It's my music at its most intimate, exactly how I think it should be. As this is an anniversary release, and to thank you all for your kind support over the last 10 years, I have decided to make this release pay what you want. Feel free to send me a couple of pounds and you will have my eternal thanks. If you're struggling at the moment, then just download it for free. There will be absolutely no judgement either way. Anything you do contribute will go back into future music. Thank you." - 36 The digital version includes 4 bonus tracks, which are alternate versions of the main tracks, recorded in a single studio session on 16th November 2018. Fade To Grey (10:44) Total length: 47:48 36’s music is often associated with and influenced by the futuristic, cyberpunk side of ambient music. His ability to transport and portray new worlds evident through his 2016 album for ASIP, ‘The Infinity Room’, or any of his self-released works. It’s of no surprise then to see his return to ASIP take this exploration one-step further. However, instead of the more obvious themes that come with cyberpunk, such as technological fetishism or vapid aesthetics, Dennis has decided to focus on the isolation of individuals, using (and often abusing) technology as a means of escapism - a side of cyberpunk that often goes unnoticed when it comes to the musical depictions that come with it. Fade To Grey reflects on current social paradigms, where social media has become a weak substitute for human interaction. Rather than bringing people together, it often makes us feel lonelier than ever. As evident in the album's artwork, technology is shown to be far from benign. The soft, gentle elegance of watercolor is juxtaposed by the violent splatters of machinery. Every vice has its price. Considering the landscape of our own world right now, where a handful of companies control everything we consume, where convenience is more important than privacy, where personal choice is pre-determined by algorithms analyzing our behavior, and where the internet has become a battleground for influence and propaganda... It's not a stretch of the imagination to believe we're already witnessing our very own dystopia. Cat: ASIPV013 released January 28, 2019 Written, produced and artwork by Dennis Huddleston. Tempora (06:20) Total length: 59:16 'The Lower Lights' is a new compilation album from 36, featuring 10 tracks of vibrant, eclectic ambient music. These are carefully chosen from a larger selection of tracks, made between April 2018 and April 2019 as part of a year-long 'Audio Diary' project. These showcase the more energetic side to 36's production, whilst still retaining that glowing melancholia, which has become the hallmark of the 36 sound. Tunes like 'Galatea' and 'Midnight Helix' unleash the full arsenal of 36's synth capabilities, with an urgency that is quite unlike anything else in his discography. In contrast, tracks like 'Future Love' and 'Minerva' uncover new paths in the darker, more cyberpunk style, with a nod to the future and a wink to the past. For those who enjoy 36's music at it's most blissful, tunes like 'Lahaina Noon' will have you covered. If you enjoy emotionally charged ambient music, that demands your full-focus rather than something to simply ignore or fall asleep to, then 'The Lower Lights' is an album worth taking your time to explore. All tracks have been carefully remixed and re-mastered, for more detail and clarity. The beautiful, minimalist artwork was created by Mario Morales. The record is pressed on double vinyl and is available in 3 different colors: Black, Metallic Silver and Teal. 100 copies of each are available. To reduce shipping costs and keep things internal, USA/ROTW orders will be handled direct by the label, while all UK and EU orders will be distributed by 36 himself. In addition, a limited edition cassette tape compilation called 'Beneath The Lower Lights' is also available, featuring an alternative selection of tracks, taken from the 'Audio Diary' archive. +++++++++++++++ "During the months of April 2018 to April 2019, I worked on a new project, which I called an "Audio Diary" documenting all the music I made over a single year. I have always wanted to do something like this, but time constraints and outside commitments always prevented it. Since 2017, I have been fortunate enough to be able to work on music full-time as my sole career, so I figured the time was right to finally crack my knuckles and do it. My early albums were more like compilations of random tracks I made, but in recent years, I have shifted towards conceptual albums, that have a more focused, curated feeling. This is great for creating a consistent sound from start to end. But as a listener, I have a soft spot for dynamic albums, that shift and swerve in sound, constantly surprising the listener. This is why the idea of an Audio Diary felt appealing to me, because I could just make music without any pretense or grand goal; It was just making music for the sheer joy of it, without any regard for the tracks that come before or after it. It felt like returning to my old method of working, albeit with 10 years of experience on my back! I was expecting to create around one track a month, but during the first 6 months, I was averaging about 1 track a week. When inspiration strikes, I have learned not to fight it! I think a key part of this prolific output is because I created a consistent pattern for how and when I worked. All tunes were made after 8:00pm every evening, when it was quiet and there were no distractions. Most of the tunes were brand new and made on the spot. But I also took the time to browse through my archive of unfinished tracks and see if any of them showed potential. Tracks like 'Galatea' were started years earlier, but along the way, they hit a creative dead-end and were left unfinished. The luxury of time gives birth to many new ideas! This is why I never delete any track I work on, because they can often be the catalyst for future ideas. Everything finds it place eventually. In the end, I made 32 tracks in total. When it came to compiling the tracks for this compilation, I simply chose the tunes I personally played and enjoyed the most over the last 12 months. I made a conscious effort not to speak to fans who had already heard them, or check play counters on Soundcloud to see which were the most popular in terms of play count. This whole concept was a personal journey, so it felt fitting for me to continue this to its final conclusion and choose the selection entirely myself. Whittling 32 tracks down to 10 for a vinyl release isn't easy, but in the end, I chose the tracks closest to my heart and placed them in a run order which I enjoyed listening to from start to finish. The end result is a new compilation album that I titled 'The Lower Lights'. Although these tracks are all quite different in terms of their individual sound, they have a surprisingly cohesive quality when compiled together as an album. I think it's a very dynamic selection and should hit the full gamut of your emotions. This isn't ambient music you can ignore; It demands your full attention and will reward you as a result. I hope you enjoy them!" - 36 released May 31, 2019 All tracks written, produced, and engineered by 36 Written between April 2018 - April 2019 Artwork by Mario Morales / moralesmario.com Layout and typography by 36 -- Past Inside the Present This is PITP-V011 | MMXIX PITP.bandcamp.com www.pastinsidethepresent.com foobar2000 1.2.5 / Замер динамического диапазона (DR) 1.1.1 Аудиокодек: FLAC (*.flac)

I hope you enjoy them!" - 36 released September 27, 2019 All tracks written, produced, and engineered by 36 Written between April 2018 - April 2019 Artwork by Mario Morales / moralesmario.com Layout and typography by 36 Digital Cat# 3SIXARCHIVE002 Vinyl version released on Past Inside The Present Vinyl Cat# PITP-V011 foobar2000 1.2.5 / Dynamic Range Meter 1.1.1 Аудиокодек: FLAC (*.flac)

As the name suggests, these are loop-based tracks, made for C45 cassette tapes. Each tune in this series will be 22:30 in length. These are slow, hypnotic tracks, that exist in their own time and space. You may be surprised how much changes over the duration of each track. All tape-related artifacts such as hiss, saturation, wow & flutter are both intentional and encouraged. We have also found ourselves in the most distracted period of time in history; finding it tremendously difficult to remain in a moment of stillness, quietude, or allow time for self-reflection. Conversely, our vast universe continues its expansion into infinite development; a climate of deafening silence in a boundless four-dimensional continuum. It remains mesmerizing with a quiet allure that freely suspends in space-time; a true account of the beautiful unknown that sparks hope, reverence, and an awesome realization of impenetrable mystery. “Stasis Sounds For Long-Distance Space Travel” is audibly rich in its delivery with an array of tranquil billows and patient tones. It is a journey and soundtrack that commences at Earth’s thermosphere, gently moving towards the untraveled parts of space, lushly floating on forever. These arrangements represent a group of celestial transmissions that are delicate in nature and intended for the listener to embrace moments of stillness, quietude and reflection, of which are on a trajectory of extinction at a place we call Earth. "If you’ve ever seen a space-travel movie, you’re probably familiar with the concept of longterm stasis, aka hyper sleep: just a bunch of humans chilling in torpor en route to some newer, brighter world, light years away from the marvelous blue marble we call home. Hypothetically, the trope may become a reality further down the line; the aerospace engineering company SpaceWorks, for instance, has proposed “torpor-inducing transfer habitats” as a means of smoothening mankind’s eventual journey to Mars (assuming we make it there before bringing about our own demise, of course.) Until then, we’ll have to settle for the soundtrack, Stasis Sounds For Long-Distance Space Travel. A collaborative release between the British producer Dennis Huddleston (aka 36) and Zaké, a “healing sound propagandist” from Indianapolis, IN, it’s a sonic approximation of the impossible (and impossibly expensive) space nap, manifested here as three soft, soothing, melancholic ambient movements: the four-stage title track, which represents the journey away from home; a nostalgic, field recording-flavored “extended hypersleep program” inspired by all the places left behind (caves, rain, cities); and at the end of the tranquil dream, a trilogy of “reductions” to let us back down to earth. I highly recommend listening to this record at night, looking up at the stars, bundled up in your favorite sweater. It’s not the same exact thing as a stasis pod, but it’s close." —Zoe Camp , Bandcamp released January 31, 2020 Tracks 1-4 are featured on 'Stasis Sounds For Long-Distance Space Travel' LP Tracks 5-11 are featured on 'Stasis Sounds For Long-Distance Space Travel: Extended Hypersleep Programs & Reductions' Cassette Tracks 1-4 written, produced & engineered by 36 & zakè Tracks 5-8 written, produced & engineered by 36 Tracks 9-11 written, produced & engineered by zakè All tracks mastered by 36 Artwork, design, & assemblage by 36 © Past Inside the Present This is PITP39 | MMXX foobar2000 1.2.5 / Замер динамического диапазона (DR) 1.1.1 Аудиокодек: FLAC (*.flac)

To see entire countries shut themselves off from the rest of the world during peacetime is heartbreaking, but these extreme measures need to be done to protect people. The advice by medical experts is clear: We need to practice social distancing, wash our hands and stay at home as much as possible. Every time we are in a public space, we are potentially opening ourselves up to infection, while also becoming vectors to infect others. It's an uncomfortable situation, but to keep ourselves and our families safe, we have to temporarily make sacrifices. To continue as normal is both reckless and selfish. We don't know how long we're in this for, but the sooner we accept this new reality, the more lives can be saved. I am in the incredibly fortunate position to be able to make a living from creating music. It's a dream for me and I wouldn't change it for the world. However, I am painfully aware that during times like this, the priorities of people naturally shift and the essentials like food and shelter take priority over the arts. Artists, like many other professions, are already feeling the negative effects of the shutdown, with cancelled tours and live gigs effectively crippling their livelihoods. It's a certainty that many artists will be left in dire straits financially and be forced to resort to other means to pay their everyday expenses. I expect many will be forced to release new music to cover costs. In a world that is often quick to devalue music, this is by no means a certain solution. However, while we're all stuck inside our homes, no doubt driving each other crazy, the importance of the arts in our lives will become crystal clear. The power of music, particularly ambient music, is that it lets you transcend your four walls and dream far beyond them. In this sense, I created a new EP called 'Music For Isolation'. It was written very quickly over a few days in March 2020, using a very minimal setup of looped strings, piano, choir, a couple of synths and various effect units. Each track is sequenced in the exact order they were made. No tech-boy noodling. This is music written from the heart, doused in the anxious vibes of the moment. Put in on your headphones, lay down and see where it takes you. It is free/pay what you like. If you are struggling financially, this one is on me. If you are in a more fortunate financial position, any payments you send will be greatly appreciated and help a lot in this uncertain new reality we find ourselves in. It is digital only for now, as the vinyl situation is already facing difficulties of its own due to the fire at Apollo. I wanted to give people something to listen to right now, when it's needed the most. If there is demand in the future, once things settle down, I will consider a physical release. Many thanks for reading and I hope you enjoy the EP. A Final Thought (04:46) Total length: 44:22 'Revisionist History (Compilation Works)' is a collection of all the obscure, one-off 36 tracks that were used on various compilations from 2011-2020. They showcase an eclectic range of styles, held together by that familiar melancholic 36 glue. Many of these tunes are quite different to anything I've ever released on my albums/EP's, which was kind of the point! They are orphan tracks, which found a home among the many wonderful labels out there. I always wanted to compile all these tracks into a single long-player, but as many of these tunes are very old, it was always going to be a challenge. Due to the nature of compilations, many of these tracks were mastered by engineers I had no experience with, which meant the sound was often quite different to how I envisioned them. Some weren't even mastered at all! My previous compilation 'Orphan Works' was just a slapdash playlist of all the tunes I could find, in various states of technical distress. It was messy to listen to and I wanted something better sounding and more coherent. Sourcing the original project files was quite a pain in the ass to say the least, as despite having a complete archive of every track I've ever made, my cataloguing system leaves much to be desired. Some tracks took me days to find, mostly through trial and error. It felt like a time capsule listening back to them! I went though each original project file and re-mixed every track, then gave them my own personal master afterwards. Some older tunes needed quite invasive editing of the original mixdowns to make them sound on par with my modern productions, but hopefully you will agree that the sound is better and more consistent now. It gives all the tunes a new coat of paint, without killing the vibes of the original arrangements. I also included an unreleased track called 'Point of No Return' which was meant to be used on a compilation album, but for whatever reason, was never released. It is free/pay what you like, so if you enjoy them, anything you send over will be greatly appreciated. All the arrangements on Wave Variations use a limited pallete of mostly synth-based sounds, with particular focus on keys and melodies. Each track directly influenced the next one. Dennis has kept almost every track around three minutes in length. He states, 'I feel like a lot of ambient music (including my own) is often unnecessarily long and these small vignettes work as a nice counter to that. Don't expect long build-ups or over-extended crescendos; These are short tracks that take you straight to Elysium and then dissolve into the ether.' He further explains the output of Wave Variations, 'Ocean tides inspired the album. I think we've all felt that sense of longing and wonder while standing at the beach, staring at the waves and gazing into the endless horizon. I think it's something that transcends all generations of people. Like the waves, these tracks leave as quickly as they arrive. I feel it's one of the most minimal records I have made, with far fewer individual sound sources at my disposal. It keeps me on my toes and forces me to deeply explore the instruments I have available to me.' This stripped-back sound gives the album a hypnotic quality to it. Like much of Dennis' work, there is a delicate balance between melancholic melodies and rich textures, resulting in an understated yet deeply exhilarating sound. Need Your Light (awakened souls - Influx Dub Version) (04:51) Total length: 02:11:46 ‘The Other Side of Darkness’ is a collaborative album from 36 and awakened souls. The project began with James (awakened souls) sending Dennis (36) a few bass loops he made and quickly evolved into a collaborative project with Cynthia (awakened souls) as well. In addition to the main album, the artists also wrote their own accompanying versions of the entire The Other Side of Darkness album, essentially turning the main album into three unique interpretations. All tracks are collected into one extended long-play for the digital version. The 'After Dark" versions by 36 revisions The Other Side of Darkness into a rain-drenched neo-noir, reflecting on the bleak backdrop of a difficult year. It is a highly emotional, deeply personal work, which was written to be played continuously from beginning to end. The ‘Other’ versions by awakened souls uncover the numerous sides of Gemini husband/wife duo, James and Cynthia. Ranging from deep drone, dub and acid to compositional ambient and shoegaze, this album traverses many moods. James revives his late 90’s electronic moniker, Influx for two dance-floor focused versions while Cynthia debuts her solo project, 'marine eyes' for three lush and emotionally raw versions. -- TOSOD is a contemplation on how holding space for hard emotions is ultimately what leads us towards the light. Amongst a year filled with uncertainty and a landscape none of us have ever lived in, the lyrics and feelings captured in the songs act as mantras reminding us of our common humanity. All of the songs on the album were written in the Summer of 2020. “Owning our story can be hard but not nearly as difficult as spending our lives running from it. Embracing our vulnerabilities is risky but not nearly as dangerous as giving up on love and belonging and joy—the experiences that make us the most vulnerable. Only when we are brave enough to explore the darkness will we discover the infinite power of our light.” ― Brene Brown ◾️◾️◾️ REVIEWS "This intriguing and predictably atmospheric album is the first collaborative full-length from experienced modern ambient producer Dennis Huddleston AKA 36, and Los Angeles duo Awakened Souls, whose full-length hook-up with Pepo Galan, Palettes, received plenty of praise last year. Between them the trio have conjured up a hugely evocative and emotion-rich collection of cuts, where heart-aching, slow-motion guitar laments stretch out across swelling synthesizer chords, meditative pads, distant-sounding vocal snippets, enveloping aural textures and soft-focus piano refrains. It's a wonderfully meditative and picturesque set all told, and one that could well turn out to be one of the most essential ambient albums of 2021." ― Juno Records released February 15, 2021 36 & awakened souls are: James Bernard - Bass Guitar, Rhodes Cynthia Bernard - Vocals, Vocal Textures, Guitar Dennis Huddleston - Synthesizers, Strings, Steinway Piano All songs mixed by James Bernard and Dennis Huddleston Written and performed by 36 & awakened souls Mastered by Rafael Anton Irisarri Artwork by John Hobbs Design by 36 © Past Inside the Present This is PITP-V039 | MMXXI PITP.bandcamp.com foobar2000 1.2.5 / Dynamic Range Meter 1.1.1 Аудиокодек: FLAC (*.flac)

All listeners who bought the original digital version here on Bandcamp have been upgraded to the expanded edition, free of charge. ------------ A year ago to the day, I released the Music For Isolation EP. It was written very quickly, during those terrible early days of the COVID-19 pandemic. Obviously, the world has changed dramatically since, with unspeakable numbers of lives lost. No doubt many of you reading this have faced grief during the last year. It's one thing to read about worldwide pandemics from history books, but it's something else entirely to live through one. Returning to the music 12 months later, I take solace in the fact that we're hopefully approaching the end of it, with those elusive lights now flickering on the horizon. I read a beautiful review of the original EP by a DJ/producer named Yasmean, whose words perfectly encapsulated my intentions with this work. I have quoted it below and in many ways, her words encouraged me to revisit the music and close the book on it. Through the hard work and selflessness of our brightest people, this dark chapter in our lives will eventually come to an end. I remain hopeful for what the future may bring. Perhaps through the misery of the last 12 months, it has also given us a once in a lifetime opportunitity for self-reflection and growth. Let's see what we do with it. -Dennis/36 "I have been alone most of the year and I have taken the time to find myself and set the record straight about myself. During these moments of introspection, I vividly remember this album being on heavy rotation day'n'night because it checked all the boxes for me in terms of context, nature, genre and intention. I remember myself letting go of every fear I had at that moment while playing it in my headphones. Ambient and soundscapes are phenomenal for this. I remember cooking, cleaning, meditating, showering, running errands with it. I've never got bored of it 'til this day because at the end of the day, it's not ‘another ambient release’, it was needed for me. I keep playing it whenever I want to be in a better mood or just to feel a bit safer during these times. I figured out a way to find myself in an uncertain chaos and this album made me focus and made everything feel less terrible. Ambient has always been a source of fullness, wholeness and calm for me; and even more so during isolation. This album marked six long and challenging months of my life and I am grateful for it." -Yasmean, taken from mixmag.net/feature/the-best-albums-of-the-year-2020 released March 16, 2021 All tracks written and produced by 36 Recorded in the UK between March 2020 - February 2021 Mastered by Rafael Anton Irisarri Artwork and design by 36 © 3six Recordings 2021. Bring The Sounds Down (01:24) Total length: 33:28 As a home for collective listening moments, the 9128.live label encourages artists to push their own creative boundaries by presenting new, experimental approaches. This ethos has been encapsulated perfectly by Dennis Huddleston with his latest album as 36 and the third release for 9128.live. Weaponised Serenity was originally performed as part of the 9128 2-year anniversary show, as 36 reflects on his rave upbringing, creating what can only be described as an ambient take on the early 90's UK hardcore/jungle sound. 36’s signature, cinematic ambient music is often instantly recognizable to his most die-hard followers, even when he is found exploring techno under his SYNE alias. With this one-off set, aptly titled, Weaponised Serenity, Dennis has created an entirely new, surprising and innovative approach to his already beloved creative output. The 9128 label aims to document significant live performances by artists that previously performed on the 9128.live platform. With recordings initially created for a singular collective listening moment, and often as part of a festival or takeover weekend, label recordings will re-present this music for further listening across various formats that best suit each release. released October 8, 2021 Broadcast 23rd August 2021 Recording Location UK Music by 36 Mastered by 36 Cat 9128-3(6) foobar2000 1.2.5 / Dynamic Range Meter 1.1.1 Аудиокодек: FLAC (*.flac)

Review ▪️▪️ "American ambient label Past Inside The Present has already assured its cult status and each new release only builds on that. This time out it is Distance As Power from UK producer Dennis Huddleston aka 36 (who already released his Wave Variations album on this label this year) and prolific Japan-based sound artist Duenn who join forces for some murky and lo-fi escapism. Their five painterly tracks come on slowly and build powerfully through foggy pads, arching chords and a nostalgic sense of warmth. This is warm, widescreen and abstract bliss." -Juno Records released November 5, 2021 All tracks written, produced and engineered by 36 & Duenn Mastered at Black Knoll Studio (NY) by Rafael Anton Irisarri Original artwork by Jun Koshino [junkoshino.com] Design and artwork manipulation by 36 ©℗ Past Inside the Present This is PITP-V022 | MMXXI foobar2000 1.2.5 / Dynamic Range Meter 1.1.1 Аудиокодек: FLAC (*.flac)

All Possible States (Reprise) (21:34) Total length: 31:22 'All Possible States' was originally released as part of a very limited Anonymous 12" on PITP in 2020, featuring 36 and Isaac Helsen. The idea was to let people hear the music and judge it not on the names behind it, but purely on the quality of the music itself. When it sold out, we revealed who wrote it. Obviously quite a few 36 fans missed out, so PITP have repressed the record, but this time with the knowledge of who made the tunes now public. Everyone deserves a second chance! 'All Possible States' was written in 2018, during the same sessions as 'Ego Death'. Indeed, it uses the same synth and minimal, ultra-melancholic style and has quickly become a firm favourite by fans of my music. Isaac's beautiful tune is not included in the digital version here, but can be bought separately from the PITP Bandcamp page pitp.bandcamp.com/album/anon-1 For this 3six Recordings digital re-release, I have gathered some friends from the PITP label and we've all worked together on a special 'Reprise' version, which transforms the original tune and takes it to beautiful new places. Spread over 20 minutes, it extends and blurs the original, with each artist taking turns to add their own unique flair to the mix. The end result is an incredibly emotional journey in sound. Note that this is a digital-only track, not on the vinyl. Thank you to Zach, Kévin and Cynthia for their generosity and immense talent. 'PULSE 01' is the first release in PITP's new series, which is an ongoing exploration of ambient tech, while offering a more structured display of beat-driven ambient music. Pulse 01 features brand new tracks by SYNE and Influx. SYNE is Dennis Huddleston from the UK, who is most recognized for his ambient work as 36. He returns to his SYNE alias for the first time in nearly 5 years, with only his second record since his 2017 self-titled debut LP. 'Dystalgia' is a 12 minute opus, spread over 3 movements. Soaring pads and razor sharp percussion combine for a dynamic, emotionally charged journey in sound. Showing love to the Detroit greats, but recognising the distinct UK influence which made him fall in love with Techno in the early 90's, it's a surprising pivot in Dennis' sound and one which all lovers of beautiful, melodic ambient techno should enjoy. -- Influx is the techno/acid/trance moniker of James Bernard. With his first release in 1993 (Braineater EP on Sapho Records), Influx is no stranger to techno and acid. This project had been in hibernation for nearly 14 years until his 2021 remixes for his collaborative album with 36 and awakened souls (The Other Side of Darkness). Revel Dub is a dub-techno excursion with sprinkles of ambient and psy-trance rounding out the frequencies. The Slow Version dials back the tempo to half-time and travels to more ambient dub territories. released January 28, 2022 Tracks 1-2 written and produced by Influx [James Bernard] Tracks 3 written and produced by SYNE [36] Mastered at Black Knoll Studio (US) by Rafael Anton Irisarri Design and layout by zakè ©℗ Past Inside the Present This is PITP-PULSE01 | MMXXII foobar2000 1.2.5 / Dynamic Range Meter 1.1.1 Аудиокодек: FLAC (*.flac)

Inspired by Warp's 'Artificial Intelligence' releases from the early 90's, it's a melodic, synthesiser-driven record, with a wink to the past and a nod towards the future. "I have a deep love for those early Warp albums, particularly the Artificial Intelligence compilations. It was a wonderful time for UK electronic music. That beautiful, warm machine sound, with an optimistic (if somewhat naive) vision for the future. I found the whole thing incredibly inspiring and wanted to revisit those memories, albeit with a 36 twist" Like 'Wave Variations' before it, this record explores various approaches to the theme, with each track directly inspiring the next one. It was the catalyst for an exciting new direction in the 36 sound and remains one of the most popular albums in the 36 discography. Fast-forward to 2022 and 3six Recordings is pleased to present 'The Infinity Room (Reinterpreted by 36)' which revisits the album, albeit with a surprising twist. Originally envisioned as a live version of 'The Infinity Room', it eventually grew into a unique re-imagining of the entire album, with every track deconstructed and rebuilt from the ground-up. Taking the core melodies from the original LP, produced alongside new sounds and arrangements, this reinterpretation showcases a dynamic new vision for the album, with increased energy and urgency. Whereas the original album was an exercise in synthesizer minimalism, this reinterpretation expands the range of sounds considerably. It doesn't remove the magic that made the original album so special for many people. It re-contextualizes it with new colour. 'The Infinity Room' played with the idea that a single artistic decision in the studio would eventually blossom into something grander. The initial stems of the very first track directly influenced the direction for everything that followed. What was created in 2016 was just one possible outcome. This is another. To be clear; This was not made to replace the original album. It is simply another possibility in a multiverse of opportunities. Among the many worlds, perhaps this is the one you feel most at home. released August 2, 2022 Thank you to Ryan from ASIP for taking a chance with the original album and for his blessing with this one. Written between 2005 and 2012, it compiles the albums Hypersona (2009), Hollow (2010) and Lithea (2012) into a 6LP boxset, alongside a bonus LP of exclusive and unreleased tracks titled Orphans. Originally written as a triptych, The Box showcases an incredibly eclectic, deeply emotional range of tracks, bridged together by that optimistic melancholy, which has since become the hallmark of the 36 sound. "These early albums are incredibly precious to me. I wrote them as a young man, full of naive dreams and a seemingly endless supply of ideas. I poured my heart and soul into realising them. They were the foundations of everything I have made since. To have them all together, in such a beautifully presented box set is a dream come true for me." - 36 Each track has been painstakingly re-mixed by 36 from the original studio project files and then mastered by Rafael Anton Irisarri, for the absolute highest sound quality. Presented for the first time together in a stunning 6LP box set, it also features exclusive artwork and extensive liner-notes by Dennis himself. Colours In The Dark (08:25) Total length: 01:07:55 I wrote 'Colours In The Dark' after an extended period of complete musical inactivity. Earlier in the year, I suffered with depression for the first time in my life, which really shook me. I've always battled with anxiety, but this was on a whole different level. The lights just completely went out and nothing seemed to matter. Days were spent existing rather than something to look forward to. I lost all desire to work on music, which only exacerbated things further. It's a terrible feeling and not really something you can truly understand unless you are cursed to experience it for yourself. I don't usually share such things publicly, but I realise that many other people are suffering in silence right now and taking that first step to acknowledge you may need help is perhaps the hardest part. It certainly gave me a higher perspective on things, especially among the backdrop of what has been an awful year for the world as a whole. My troubles were tiny in comparison, but when you're battling with your mental health, your worldview shrinks to the macro level and nothing else seems to matter. But the light did eventually return and my love for music came back into focus. It's why this isn't a sad album. I wanted to use this negative experience and try to turn it into a positive. While I'll never be able to write a feel-good pop song, I can channel the darkness and try to find those impossible colours hiding inside it. If nothing else, this is certainly one of the most personal albums I have ever wrote. If the trope about artists making their best work when they struggling is true, then you guys are in for a treat! I'm doing much better now. If you're currently struggling, then I hope this record can help you find your colours again too. Lets look after each other. released October 1, 2022 Everything by 36 ℗© 3six Recordings 2022. All rights reserved 3SIXCD013 foobar2000 1.2.5 / Dynamic Range Meter 1.1.1 Аудиокодек: FLAC (*.flac)

While the title describes them as loops, this is somewhat misleading, as the tracks are constantly evolving, slowly revealing new melodies, textures and emotions. Show Me The Way (05:17) Total length: 50:13 COLD ECSTASY is the new album by Dennis Huddleston AKA 36. Drifting within the gravity of the 90's UK hardcore sphere of influence, 36 transposes the sound of the past into a devastatingly emotional vision of the future. "I started going down the rabbit hole with my mini-album 'Weaponised Serenity' back in 2021. While that album was a kind of raw deconstruction of the 90s Jungle/dnb sound, this new one expands the zone of influence to include the entirety of music which was (and still is) important to me from this era. Especially on the happier side of the hardcore spectrum, which I feel was unfairly maligned at the time. I have no qualms whatsoever about admitting how much I enjoyed this music. The vibes are undeniable and I have nothing but respect for the producers who created them back in the day" The album has an interesting chemistry of seemingly opposite emotions, working in harmony to create a unique and deeply moving sound. From the halcyon-drenched optimism of the vocals, to the often overwhelming melancholy present in the instrumentals, it's an album which is difficult to describe in words, but makes perfect sense when heard. It's a sound that 36 has always aspired to achieve with his music, but the glow has never been quite as radiant as it is on this record. "In the 90s, I wasn't old enough to visit events like Ark or Dreamscape, but I used to buy all the tape packs from my local record store afterwards. It might seem strange as a young kid to enjoy music which was essentially so in the moment and tied so closely with drugs, but I just loved the sound and the vibes of the night still came through strong on my tape deck. I have these kind of ghost memories, as if experiencing that era through proxy. I wasn't there, never got to experience the sweat and ecstasy of the moment live, but simply hearing the music, the crowd, the MC's on tape... That was enough for me. Decades later, even these tapes have long since left my possession, so my memories of these records have drifted and distorted further, into a kind of ambient haze. What were once hyper-positive anthems are now broken echoes and the naive optimism has long since turned into a delicate, yearning melancholy. Maybe it was always like that?" In a time when nightclub venues are closing faster than they are opening, and political indifference has let an important part of UK culture fade away, COLD ECSTASY is a statement of intent. When the dancefloor turns cold and the vibes of the night have long-since dissipated into the ether of time (or worse, converted into a new IKEA showroom), then what remains of the energy that was once there? Hopefully you'll find some of it here, flickering in the darkness. released June 25, 2023 Everything by 36 3SIXLP008 foobar2000 1.2.5 / Dynamic Range Meter 1.1.1 Аудиокодек: FLAC (*.flac)

These have also been uploaded as digital loops, for your listening convenience (use FLAC/gapless playback to ensure loop accuracy) /////////// Loops have always been at the very center of everything I've ever made. They are the beginning and the end of my music. I'm obsessed with the idea of creating something you can play for 60 seconds or 60 minutes, where the listener enters that hypnotic flow state, where you become detached from time and space. While compositionally, these are perfect loops, it's worth noting that the production chain naturally created so called imperfections, which will sometimes become audible. These could be simple wow/flutter artifacts from tape, or slight changes in dynamics from the compressor. Maybe nothing actually changes at all and it's simply your ears discovering new sounds within the loop? To be very clear, these are absolutely not unfinished ideas, sketches, nor are they the foundation for anything more than what they already are. They exist purely on their own terms, within their own space. Feel free to get lost in them whenever you need them. released November 2, 2023 Everything by 36 Written between August-October 2023 3SIXCD016 foobar2000 1.2.5 / Dynamic Range Meter 1.1.1 Аудиокодек: FLAC (*.flac)

Reality Engine continues the melodic, melancholy machine sound started with Wave Variations and Symmetry Systems, exploring the blossoming dynamics of artificial intelligence and the ever-changing definition of reality. Over the course of the five years gracing our roster, the multifaceted essence of 36's sound reverberates with unmistakable diversity. His sonic repertoire, rich in variation and innovation, has consistently evolved, leaving an indelible mark on Past Inside the Present and 36’s musical journey together. His latest offering continues his legacy on our imprint and we are honored to issue this incredible long player. This one goes deep... 36 touches on themes of sound machines that create immersive digital experiences, augmented reality engines that overlay digital content onto the real world, and powerful forces that shapes emotions, perceptions, and connections. -- "Reality, hypothetical technology, and augmented machines. Everything and nothing is real. Reality Engine is a conduit of what is real and what is imagined. It is a powerful force that shapes emotions, perceptions, and connections. Digital human connections, imagining the truth. What is real? Enhanced reality converges with sound machines that create immersive digital experiences to augmented reality engines that overlay digital content onto the real world. Sensory inputs that generate realistic and interactive environments. Genuine connections with one another on a profound level, irrespective of their differences. This music encourages a sense of unity and communal belonging, where listeners can find solace and camaraderie within the melodies and harmonies that resonate in their hearts. Can this be real? A veritas mechanism evoking genuine emotions. Unique and captivating sonic landscapes, digital chants, harmony with futuristic sounds. An authentic, diverse, and transformative force; transcending boundaries, while amplifying the human experience. It embraces the full spectrum of emotions. Is the reality engine simply a veracity propulsor to empower individuals to find meaning and purpose within the ever-changing symphony of existence? Truth can be heard in a world where time and space begin to blur. In a world that is increasingly hostile to optimism, it's easy to become lost in the murk. 'Trance Anthems For A Sunken Generation' thrives in this negative energy. It's an aggressive inversion of the usual 36 sound. Euphoric synths are torn apart. Melody becomes fractured and beaten into submission. The rush is cold; The breakdown of sound is closer to that of collapse. The Space Turns To Grey (03:21) 'Exit All The Lights' is the new studio album by UK-based producer Dennis Huddleston, better known as 36. His notes on this album are quoted below: "It's essentially my take on an ambient pop album. I was influenced by everyone from Enya, to Lana Del Rey, to Burial. Raved up, dreamy pop music, drenched in that 36 melancholy" Dennis wrote the lyrics and melodies, which were then performed by Yassie, in her London studio. "Her voice is so beautiful, and layering it brought out this incredibly rich, ultra-wide, constantly expanding soundstage, which just floods your headphones with emotion. The real challenge was resisting the urge to just keep cascading her voice over and over, because every time she sang, the music became even more lush." Written over the course of the last 12 months, during a time of personal upheaval, it's 36 at his most vulnerable, and the first time he has worked with more traditional, vocal-led song structures. "Outside my debut, it's probably the most amount of time and energy I've ever spent on a single studio album. It's a heavy record, no question about that. If you read the lyrics, maybe you'll figure out what it's about, but I wanted to keep things open to personal interpretation, as ultimately the listener needs to find something they can emphasise with. As I have said many times before, I don't want to make sad tunes, just for the sake of it. The sound should always glow, even in the darkest moments. Working with original lyrics is something quite different for me, and while this album was certainly a challenge to make, I'm very proud of myself for seeing it through" Available on limited edition 12" vinyl and digital/streaming via 3six Recordings. released November 15, 2024 All tracks written, produced & engineered by 36 Vocals performed by Yassie G Artwork by 36 © ℗ 3six Recordings 2024-2025.
