Mr Madjestyk cut his teeth on the UK's hip-hop and d'n'b scenes in the early 2000's. His turntable skills led him to become a finalist in "Telegraph DJ" @ Ministry Of Sound. In 2009 he crossed over La Manche spending some years in Paris, during which time he became a big part of the French bass music scene, working closely with local bass-lovin artists. His crowd orientated turntablist sets are known to be bursting with musicality and to traverse genres, whilst being galvanised by heavyweight beats and basslines. Born in Sao Paulo, Brazil and based in New York, DJ and producer Kassiano has been for some time now a pioneer of 'brazilian dance music'. As one of the first DJ’s to introduce Brazilian Baile Funk music to the international scene by putting out mixes, bootlegs, and original productions through his own label Nossa (since 2006), he innovated new ways of mixing the Rio favela sounds with other kinds of dance music from around the world. This might be the 'deepest' release to date on MTWAT, but definitely suitable for the big shows as well, tried and tested. The duo, formed by DJs and producers Gustavo Tomasi and Mariana de Paula, is one of the most respected electronic acts in Brazil and incorporate progressive sounds with the rhythm and aggressiveness of tough techno. Having cut their teeth in the scene as a excellent DJ's (hence the name Mixsa), this the the duo's debut release and it's a great one. The vibe is a bit more techy and deep compared to previous MTWAT release, but that's how we do it, #dark. Who would not want to be at beach party in Brazil to listen to these sounds and having a cool drink, if you been there you know what I mean. And about the remixes... #BASS DJ Karnak (aka R1 Ryders) has consistently produced some of the most bass-centric tracks to come out of London’s underground club scene. His tracks are constantly played by DJ’s across the board like Toddla T, Mary Anne Hobbs, Mistajam, Benji B, B. Traits, Sinden and Ikonika. Growing up in London as an avid music collector Karnak cites London’s Jungle and Garage scenes as key influences on his sound, and it’s no surprise that the likes of La Roux, Major Lazer and The Count & Sinden have enlisted his skills for remix duties. Morcee is a London-based DJ and producer. Fyor (aka Kevin Chapman) started producing in 2008 and putting himself on the map in the LA club scene. In 2010 the duo No Body was formed and as a part of No Body, Kevin refined his skills as producer and as a DJ, receiving support from artists such as Deadmau5, Tiesto, Hardwell and more. They also played shows such as LED’s OMFG, EDC 2012 and had residencies at Voyeur, Avalon and Wavehouse. By 2012, Kevin had completed multiple degrees in production and recording and decided to embark on a solo career. Fyor's style could be described as electro and progressive with a grimier twist, but genres do not limit this guy. He's been in the studio for 5 months to prepare several ep's, so there's nothing stopping this guy now. LA goes hard as I expect it to do, lovin every bit of this. These 2 tracks are exactly what we would play out right now, with influences from Dutch house, grimey bass sounds and big drops aka the sound of now. 'Everybody Go Eeh' is a big room smasher with a more minimal drop, whereas 'The Hamma Track' goes hard with it's tough bass, synths and vocals. Keep an eye on for the new productions from First Gift, this guy has got so many tunes i the works and his new solo ep is pretty much ready as well. With past close releases by Nerd Flanders, Dinamo, Keynoise & Mr.Mala, all from Italy, I bring you Retrohandz, a duo from Milano who make awesome big room trap music. I love trap and this is something right up the style suitable for us at the club, huge drums and big bass. Retrohandz have been in the game since 2009, producing house, trap, moombahton as well as working with vocalists for dancehall tunes. Their first release was for Woot Records in 2009, following a series of productions for Italian vocalists and labels. In 2011, they collaborated with Doner Music from Italy and series of singles with dancehall greats like Ms Triniti and Lion D, as well as an album that made it number 1 in iTunes Italy. Their debut for MTWAT is a heavy affair of 808's and dark synths, but also showing their love for reggae and dancehall. These tracks are more for lovers of big, yet more minimal style of trap tunes, the lack of overly trance-yd synths is what we like. I think we all did, and still do, so let me introduce to you to our latest MTWAT hero from Tokyo who has that sound deeply rooted in his heart, M.S.K. aka Mask. Having initially signed to Institubes (RIP), M.S.K. is back in the game after a small hiatus, but his sound is still what's we would expect from a producer from that crew, dirty and chopped-up sample based bass music. M.S.K. started djing and producing in his student days and has a background in hip-hop, punk and rock, but soon developed a taste for house music, especially the sound by Masters At Work, Kenny Dope and Todd Terry. Soon after that the French sound of house came along as a natural development. M.S.K.'s releases on Institubes and Different Recordings (home of Gesaffelstein, Duke Dumont, Crystal Fighters, Tiga, Fake Blood, Crookers, Etienne De Grecy and many more) have gained worldwide play with all the top players who play the more energetic sound of today's house music. This new release from the man combines seamlessly the punk influences as well as the New York and ghetto house styles, and the sample based music making we love. MTWAT is a label for the electro and techno sounds of the club world, and this new collaboration with Tennesee producer Talk is straight up warehouse feels. Somewhat dark, yet banging and weird enough to keep it interesting. Daniel Lewis aka Talk is a native to Tennessee. As Talk (Dekonstructure, Party Like Us Records) he produces house & techno, but has his hands in many other projects too. When not writing as Talk he is recording cold and somber electronic music as Human Figures, acid house as Lyman Alpha Forest, or writing darkwave / synthpop songs with his girlfriend under the name Vault. Talk is known for his analogic and deeper sound and this new MTWAT collaboration brings out the best in both. Like said, it would be stupid and boring just to keep it one genre, even though life has been a bit more on the electro side lately.
