Born in Heidelberg, Germany, later settled down near Mainz. Earns a living as a graphical designer. Ambient and other electronica since 1992. Жанр: Berlin School, Ambient, Electronica, Chillout, Improvisation Дата издания: April 1, 2009 Каталожный номер: none Продолжительность: 57:17 Треклист: 01. April Rain (live) (16:00) 02. Simple Joy (live) (09:30) 03. Leiff Heyma (live) (18:54) 04. Sequencing Exercise in A minor (10:05) 05. Amorrrrrbach (a capella live) (02:48) This one is a first and free little something for those who visit me here at BandCamp.
Most of the tracks are improvisations I did while rehearsing during the past two years, all invented at the spur of the moment, with the exception of "Sequencing Exercise in A minor" - which was (also quite spontanously) programmed to test a couple of new freeware soft synths recently... Ah - and it even contains a "bonus" track ;-) You can get this EP for free, however I would be grateful if You'd throw me a little coin in my virtual hat. That will (hopefully) enable me to produce more music in better quality in the future (and to make and keep my extended back catalogue available...). Thank You! Credits released April 1, 2009 Cover based on a photo by Hagen von Bergen (...yes, THE one and only, great and excellent electronic musician!) ----------------------- foobar2000 1.3.10 / Dynamic Range Meter 1.1.1 This Fragile Hideaway
Жанр: Berlin School, Ambient, Electronica Дата издания: December 23, 2011 Каталожный номер: 94 Продолжительность: 2:34:15 Треклист: 01. From Here to Nowhere (31:37) 02. She thought he were the Candyman (09:53) 03. Silver Cuckoo (08:52) 04. All Kinds of Weird Animals (10:55) 05. This Fragile Hideaway (16:40) 06. Iblis (21:50) 07. Eleusis (13:04) 08. We all need a quick Solution (bonus track) (41:24) This one came even to me unexpectedly - I originally planned to produce a single track for a Christmas video, while at the same time rehearsin and improvising with my life equipment, and within just a couple of day there had accumulated enough material for a "double" album (if You'd care to burn this on CD, that is...).
Only exception is the lengthy bonus track, which came from a live rehearsal earlier back in November... Not that this is anything like Christmas music for the bigger part, much of it is actually rather dark, weird or experimental (or all of this at once...). I do hope You will enjoy this anyway! ----------------------- foobar2000 1.3.10 / Dynamic Range Meter 1.1.1 My Setup Is Upset

RaumZeit Festival Backing Track - Set 2 (28:57) The tracks on this free album were all recorded live in my studio, during my preparations for the RaumZeit Festival in the German city of Dortmund, between March and May 2012, without overdubs an in most cases without any further editing.
Most of them sound rather raw, some have their share of lengths, of wrong notes or sub-optimal timing, however: This set also contains wonderful, captivating, fascinating or otherwise enjoyable passages, reason enough to share it here with You. Most of these tracks (but some only for a short time) were also posted on one of my SoundCloud profiles (therefore some of YOU might already have heard them before, although with different titles), however, now they are downloadable, and also in HQ. ----------------------- foobar2000 1.3.10 / Dynamic Range Meter 1.1.1 Kings of the Earth
Жанр: Berlin School, Ambient, Electronica Дата издания: April 22, 2013 Каталожный номер: none Продолжительность: 44:27 Треклист: 01. 1959 (44:27) "...and afterwards, these mysterious figures, faces masked with lead: these are ourselves, men, kings of the earth, trying to measure the extend of the destruction they themselves have created."
Recently, on an evening when I was too tired for anything more resonable, I was zapping through Youtube, in search for some old monster movies. The last thing I stumbled upon before finally going to bed was this British/American B-Movie from 1959, called "The Giant Behemoth" (the plot being a mix between the more successful "Godzilla" and "The Beast from 20.000 Fathoms"). Reversing the good old tradition of the "sermon" near the end of the movie, this one starts with (more or less) a monologue by the main character, a marine biologist, and it struck me just how much aware people were already back then - in 1959 - of the environmental problems that the use of atomic energy implies (...of course I knew that in the 50ies people were afraid of the bomb and radiation in general. But here we have also the consideration of long term effects of atomic waste and the accumulation of radioactive particles in the atmosphere and in the food chain, etc.) I also liked the voice of actor Gene Evans, and immediately had the idea that it would sound just fine in an ambient track... One day later, it came to my awareness that today (that's Monday, the 22. of April 2013) is "Earth Day", and I thought maybe it would be nice to dedicate a track to this occasion (...although I'm rather of the opinion that one Earth Day per year is not quite enough - why not have 365...?). Obviously, both ideas seemed to go together well, and the track makes use of the complete monologue; I half wrote, half improvised different parts around it, and was rather astonished that after all was arranged and unfolded properly, the track was almost 45 minutes long. Actually, it's something like a little "ambient suite" with different distinct parts. I decided to leave it as one long track, however, here are some "sub titles" and their corresponding starting times: 1. "These mysterious figures" 0:00 2. "Gentlemen, we are witnessing a biological chain reaction..." 2:05 3. "...but how little do we know about it?" 5:22 4. "Rise to the surface" 12:30 5. "...that was Bikini" 18:20 6. "Men, Kings of the Earth" 24:16 7. "...but in the tiny plankton" 30:00 8. "We cannot fence off the ocean" 37:46 9. "That's EXACTLY what I meant...!" 42:12 I guess i have comitted a little violation of copyright here, but since the film is really old and never had any success in the first place either, and hopefully I put the quotations to some good purpose, I'll get away with it. Here's a bit from the film's Wiki (on -Pedia...): "Behemoth, the Sea Monster (1959) is an American-British science-fiction film co-production. Originally a story about an amorphous blob of radiation, the script was changed at the distributor's insistence to a pastiche of The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms (1953), though elements of the original concept remain in the early parts of the film and in the "nuclear-breathing" power of the titular monster. The script was written by blacklisted author Daniel James under the name "Daniel Hyatt," with Eugène Lourié co-writing as well as directing. Released in the United States as The Giant Behemoth, the film starred Gene Evans and André Morell. It was distributed by Allied Artists Pictures." Full info here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Behemoth,_the_Sea_Monster The movie's intro, including the speech: www.youtube.com/watch?v=yyza0S5BYI8 (Unfortunately, this clip starts with some unconnected crap, and the trailer of the movie. The monologue in question can be found at around 7:00 min...) For those of You who want to learn more about Earth Day (from wikiPedia): "Earth Day is an annual day on which events are held worldwide to demonstrate support for environmental protection. E is now coordinated globally by the Earth Day Network,[1] and is celebrated in more than 192 countries every year.[2] The name and concept of Earth Day was pioneered by John McConnell in 1969 at a UNESCO Conference in San Francisco. He proposed March 21, 1970, the first day of spring in the northern hemisphere. This day of nature's equipoise was later sanctioned in a Proclamation signed by Secretary General U Thant at the United Nations. A month later a separate Earth Day was founded by United States Senator Gaylord Nelson as an environmental teach-in first held on April 22, 1970. While this April 22 Earth Day was focused on the United States, an organization launched by Denis Hayes, who was the original national coordinator in 1970, took it international in 1990 and organized events in 141 nations.[3][4] Numerous communities celebrate Earth Week, an entire week of activities focused on environmental issues." Жанр: Acoustic, Piano, Jazz, Improvisation Дата издания: July 18, 2014 Каталожный номер: none Продолжительность: 10:12 Треклист: 01. Piano Improvisation incl. "Romantic Fool" (10:12) First of all: please note that this is NOT electronic music, neither is it ambient of any kind, it's just me improvising on a piano, partly in a slightly "jazzy" way. *
Filing through my archives this morning (looking for something completely different...) I stumbled upon this recording of a piano improvisation which I played some day in 2009 - and then had completely forgotten about. It's actually one improvisations of (I guess) hundreds that I have played since when I've started to record may own music back in 1992; however, as I'm not at all an accomplished piano player, I rarely ever recorded these noodlings, nor did they often find their way on any of my albums. Then again, on listening to this recording today, I actually thought it's quite listenable and definitely one of my better improvisations - so here we go... The bigger part of it now is improvised, just on the spur of the moment, near the end however, as was my habit then, I closed my noodlings with the only "proper" piano composition I have written so far, a fairly simple (but hopefully still quite nice) little ditty called "Romantic Fool". Here I played it rather fast and almost didn't mess it up... * ...OK, so it IS actually a (humble) sample based electronic piano (my wife's one, to be specific...), but sounding fairly realistic, and with a real piano keyboard and pedals. My wife also used to own a wonderful Yamaha baby grand piano on which I used to play a lot, however we had to sell it when we moved to a smaller appartment a few years ago. ----------------------- foobar2000 1.3.10 / Dynamic Range Meter 1.1.1 Scattered All Over - Contributions, Collaborations and other rare tracks

Improvisation 2 (with Wolfproject) (05:38) 69. Transmission Ends (Extended Version) (01:17:02) When some months ago I posted a thread with links to tracks that I had contributed to different various artists compilations, ambient / EM musician and label owner Jack Hertz (who acutally had curated many of these compilations) suggested that I could collect these tracks on one album one day; I thought that was a nice idea and made a note. Now I felt the time was at hand to actually do it.
The main reason for this is the fact that I have decided not to submit any (new, original) tracks to any such project for the next few months, or maybe forever. I enjoyed doing all these tracks, often the compilations had interesting, or important, topics, and through them, I felt connected to a world wide family of likeminded musicians. Also, they encouraged me to explore some weird ideas further that are (perhaps) not present in my regular album releases with the same intensity. Which means that much of the music presented here is rather experimental, or introspective, or otherworldly, and sometimes humorous in a slightly weird way... However, they also were time consuming and often put me under pressure, because it was hard to submit something until the often close dead lines and balance this with my other musical activities (not to speak of my daytime job and family life). Therefore, a break. And a retrospective. And also a kind of Christmas giveaway for my listeners: since all of these compilations were free releases, I'll also do it like this (...to be specific, it's "name your price" - please feel free to just type "0"; however if You want to throw a coin in my hat instead, this will also be much appreciated). So, these are all contributions to various compilations I've made so far. And also all collaborative tracks on several "(musician X) & friends" projects. AND a few otherwise (hopefully) interesting single tracks from different contexts (radio shows, podcasts, YouTube videos, SoundCloud posts etc.). All the stuff not yet on any album, but - you know: scattered all over! 8-) Finally united. And it's a lot - actually the tracks would fill 11 CDs (please note that You can also pick just some single tracks if You prefer...). The cover photograph(s) are used with kind permission of Dagmar Salomon, a great photographer and lovely person! Thank You very much, Dagmar! :-) Here's a full tracklist with links and mention of all the lovely people involved in this. THANK YOU SO MUCH - everyone of You!!!! ----------- (Note: I put some effort in the order of tracks, which is not random, but rather creates a good flow - to my taste anyway... Furthermore, the tracks are seperated into eleven groups, which each would fill one CD; the idea is that each of these groups could work as an album, and as far as possible the tracks in one group match in mood and stylistically...) ----------------------- foobar2000 1.3.10 / Dynamic Range Meter 1.1.1 Для того, чтобы скачать .torrent Вам необходимо зарегистрироваться |
