Originally released on 17th November 2017, “Birthday And Death” is the first album of ELEKTROSTAUB that was then much anticipated thanks to the resonant success of the two previous club hit singles “Also Without You” featuring Anne Goldacker (ex-OBSCYRE, WINTRY) and especially “Unforgotten” featuring a stunning and highly praised collaboration with NAMNAMBULU’s frontman Henrik Iversen. In only 2 singles, ELEKTROSTAUB managed imposing its own synth pop style with an edge and made its place amongst the leaders of the future pop movement next to bands like VNV NATION, COVENANT, APOPTYGMA BERZERK, DE/VISION, ASSEMBLAGE 23 and many more. This 13-track debut album confirmed the skills of multi-talented German artist Patrick Knoch who enlarged the number of intelligently selected guest vocalists offering both vocal wealth and emotional diversity. We this way notice some 5 songs made together with his long-term friends of !DISTAIN who help him giving a more melancholic synth pop touch to the album. But also a second song “Prediction” together with Henrik Iversen as well as additional guest vocal collaborations with artists like THE ETERNAL AFFLICT, DATASUSHI or yet Roberto Lindner. It reveals this time a harder side of ELEKTROSTAUB closer to EBM and perfectly matching with the powerful vox of RUINED CONFLICT’s frontman Xavier Morales and his unique vocal tone many often create comparisons with Ronan Harris of VNV NATION. This track was also sung in Spanish by NÒRDIKA’s charismatic singer offering a more synth pop dimension to this very melodic song.
