There was movement, at first it was minimal and then multiple. I tried to hide them, the demons. I knew they were there but I decided to let them out all the same. You see, it meant my freedom. But, to everyone else, enslavement. There would be a long and dark period for humanity that I had done everything I could to store, to bottle up. Now, they would feel my pain. Every bloody second of it. The years of negativity, self deprivation, pounding at my confidence, would now become the violation of the millions whom had turned a blind eye to my inner savagery. They couldn’t have cared any less. I was dirt to them. You could say I’d bred and neutered this filth that now spreads through the night, intercepting the dream’s of the people and tearing at the sweetness they wished to bathe in. Family, neighbours, and passers by would hear their screams of torment. I would often walk the rain slicked streets to soak up all their misery. Oh how I developed a greed for it. After a few months, they were no longer people they were my slaves - the new slaves. About they wondered with no direction other than moving from land-to-land and enjoying the darker side of blood and sex. I would often cross paths with people openly fucking on sidewalks, in parked cars, and in arcades. For a time I enjoyed it as I knew it was all for me. A show of pleasure in creating pleasure. Humanity ebbed away... Did I care? The longer I wandered the world, with no weight on these now broad shoulders, I began feeling. It sounds crazy, I know, but this once angst torn figure whom sits before you telling this tale began to... feel. I’d often walk through forests and allow the fauna to feel my naked skin. The green bled through my veins. No life was here except wild and all was as inquisitive about me as I was of it. My guard was failing. What did this mean? After allowing this new sensation to flood my biomass I realised I could now generate something else from my mind and deliver it to the world: Love. Strange, this feeling of warmth, but intoxicating. If you were to ask me if I liked I would say yes. But if you were to ask me if I would use it to return the world to how it was... As I watched like the Shepard as my slaves walked across the graves before me, in this mist enshrined yard of the dead, I pondered how happy they were. Roaming and using their primitive desires on each other. Tearing at flesh, the spilling of insides on the dirt, and the penetration of a naked and lifeless creature - I was thus torn as to what was to be of them. For now, all I wanted was to watch. To watch them play as they played for me everyday, with hunger and passion. The underworld was forced back by machines and megabyte madness, at a heavy loss. They thrived on misery and mayhem and hiding in the shadows, but not living in the dark and the decay. There was nothing else they could do but turn to the man whom they had once despised. They knew he, and only he, could turn the tide. So, TrustPower was formed - a small group who would transfer their energy in one sacrificial megaton-moment to bring him back: Absolute Valentine’s resurrection was complete! It was a strange type of hope but one that galvanized the underworld for when AV was revitalized he took straight to the task of taking the streets back. With the agility of a Spitfire, he began to tear a hole in the new world, taking away its new order 16bit-by-16bit, which brought both good and bad together for the very first time. They bled but they believed, side-by-side. You see, there was nothing that could stop the march of the man for he had revenge in his heart. AV knew the real killers of his girl and nothing would get in his way of getting even. Whom his allies were didn’t concern him. AV knew the alliance wasn’t forever it was just to bring the city back to what it was before Omega Corp. became its all-mighty master. So those who opposed the Corp were unequivocally behind him. The faceless suits in their mile-high tower would fall with the structure they embedded themselves in. Absolute Valentine could almost taste the crumbling concrete. So, will you sit there and wait for it to be over? or will you join the fight to bring both good and bad, the equilibrium, back to this once gloriously grim city? Humanities frantic attempts to leave Earth amidst the decline of the planet and the people lead them to the discovery of ‘Superstes 1.’ The planet shows promise but is far too distant for us to reach within our lifetime. A group of robots are sent to terraform. Many years later, after numerous projects start and fail, two projects named C-SCNT-7, Government project performing mainly in secret, and TT-BEAM, run by independent scientists, rise from the ashes and work to find a way for humans to travel quickly and safely to join and assist the robots. C-SCNT-7 focus on cloning and TT-BEAM focus on time dilation, or ‘catapulting’ an individual in moments to a distant destination. The latter’s project is pulled, after a few years of testing, for unknown reasons. Under heavy scrutiny, C-SCNT-7 is blamed for wasting huge amounts of resource on a project that people still know very little about. So, in 2259, a group of scientists, under the stewardship of the brilliant Victor Carter, discover after extensive research backed by the public, that TT-BEAM was the best option after-all. TT-BEAM 2 is born. C-SNT-7 remains, due to investors and supporters, and steps up its claim as the only project of choice through a flood of propaganda. In 2265 the TT-BEAM 2 project makes a huge breakthrough in research and during celebrations, Victor Carter meets Tracey Cullen. A whirlwind romance ensues and Tracey pledges to help Victor see out the project by stepping out on ‘Superstes 1’, together. However, Tracey is abducted by the C-SNT-7 team and soon reported dead. Suggestions circle that she was used as part of the cloning project. Victor is heartbroken and vows, to himself, to bring Tracey back to life and end the C-SNT-7 project. Victor decides he must test the TT-BEAM on himself and, upon setting the code, inadvertently sets the machine to travel backwards and not forwards, to the destination of ‘Superstes 1’. Whilst this blesses him with Tracey being alive once more, it curses humanity... it opens a gate for the long-gone ‘Restoration Protocol Units’ (RPUs) to pass through to Earth. And they do. Without a moments notice they begin restoration work, creating an environment suitable for all lifeforms to live in. To do this they overthrow all governments, taking control of every aspect of control for humanity. A couple of years go by and Victor, Tracey, and the rest of the humans live in relative happiness alongside the robots. But the constant restrictions by this harmless dictatorship, albeit for preserving life, builds tension and, inevitably, causes mass riots. Chaos ensues. After war upon war with the machines, humanity falls into the pit of total extinction. Centuries later, in the year 2652, offspring of the original robots that had remained on ‘Suspertes 1’ and not followed their kin to Earth, embark on a journey of discovery. They head for Earth to find out what happened to their ‘mothers and fathers’ and why they never made their way back to their world. The ‘Return To Earth’ squad (RTEs), super-intelligent Androids, find on arrival and subsequent scouting missions discover scorched and decayed landscapes, cities fallen to rubble, and dust covered remains of generations of long-lost ‘Superstes 1’ robots. After a widespread search through the world-wide battlefield, they find ‘Victor Carter’s Diary’, a preserved tablet device incased in titanium alloy. Page after page of insight and information is taken back to ‘Superstes 1’. In this final war against neoliberalism, where people are no longer recognised or represented, where they are further dehumanised and treated as vermin, where the androids that have been readied to supersede us are rolling off the production lines, we must stand!
