Established early 90’s with a multitude of releases appearing on Warp Records UK, B12 Records, Soma Records, Delsin Records, ART B12 became active again in 2015 with the Soma release “Bokide 325” and the Delsin release “Orbiting Souls” and this year on DeTuned “Transient Life” The EP entitled BrokenUnBroken: A moody down tempo risky start for a first release on a new label, however its enigmatic beauty, sounds, artwork and themes make it the only natural choice. “In Pieces” is enough to tear at the heart strings, it is an emotion loaded audio picture of sadness and despair. The producer conveys these feelings with a disturbingly natural ease and is an indication of a mental state he makes no secret of sharing. Sublime pads weave over subtle beats and crashes until joined by a hypnotic bassline. “Over !Hear!” is an old school vibe featuring a fetal doppler recording. Warm pads and bassline presents familiarity and rolls along conjuring up a safe place to be. “Battle Within” is a slow track there is no real drive forward but a multitude of entwined sounds and shapes that represent a whole piece. A piece constantly pulled out of shape. With a dual meaning originally inspired by the producers visit to a war torn city. An attempt to put into music almost from a child like perspective the mixed emotions and confusion that are felt when suffering. “There Is No Escape” is a Sci Fi dub style track. A driving break inspired beat and drooling bassline are joined by a constant abstract dialogue. Escape from where ? Escape from oneself ? This EP sees B12 pick up the pace from their previous FireScope release BrokenUnBroken “Coduktor” An organ plays some subtle chords behind this track while beautiful drums skip along on top, to create a sonic backdrop for the very quirky melodies and top lines that constantly evolve and interpolate. A spiritual experience ? “Dont Look Down” 808 and 909 drum and pads always a killer combination add to this an odd malformed bass line which never really reveals quite what it is doing makes for a pretty interesting track. Don’t look down where is the question “Blue and Green Capsule” A pumping kick drum sets the pace for this track which builds up using classic B12 style drums. The swirling pads and sliding melodies interlaced make this track reminiscent of “Epillion” as featured on the classic B12 album “Time Tourist” on Warp Records in 1996. A track you can move your feet as well as your head to “Minor Decay” brain decay , world decay , urban decay , human decay , music decay , unavoidable decay - a simple straightforward techno track using its simplicity to conjure up feelings of sadness and thoughtfulness as well as joy and hope. Love for self, a person , our planet , a planet. Each track filled with emotion and hope “Indeterminate Path” A wonderful percussive top line effortless in nature plays soulfully over typical B12 eerie Pads and Drums. This time the wonderful sound of the Roland TB303 joins the soundscape to add to this thoughtful track. as it delivers its repetitive and simple yet enchanting melody “Core Meltdown” Quite an aggressively underpinned track for such a loving EP. However gaining acceptance of the powerful drum and bass parts the top line in the track ( again a gorgeous percussive bass-line ) will take you on a journey somewhere calm and serene. “Carriage 12” Join this train / ship / craft in the only carriage that makes sense - Number 12. A slow journey featuring some truly lush heart felt pad arrangements that speak a language of hope and tranquility yet also convey the perpetual sadness the producer feels. “Moon Struck” A track that started life as a time constrained experiment. A track for the planet and the love that is contained on this ball in space. Not alone as we spin on its axis; looking outward for the greater universal love and acceptance. The tracks are heavy and describe an environment of captivity and pain. External or Internal - it is all the same. “Last Man Standing” Heavy pounding beats drive the track, like an eternal pounding of ones brain while a crazy demented conduktor; conducts an orchestra as the band plays on “Red Wilderness” Solitude, abandonment, loneliness and despair, the track conjures up images of being alone, afraid, broken. Simplistic drum programming and harsh strings carry us on this journey into a baron place “Experiment Camp Alpha” Not a nice place to be. Drawing inspiration from UK pioneers such as B12, Stasis, LFO, Black Dog but delivering it in a modern way, John has managed to carve out his own unique sound while staying true to his roots. This is uncorrupted UK techno in its purest form. “Elements ” Wonderful swirling pads, envelope a crisp drum track and set the pace for a pure retro DX bassline to punch its way over the top. Sit back and close your eyes. “Symbols” A pure sci-fi FM workout. Metallic sine waves modulating each other to create a kind of robotic funk. “Implant” This track is driven along by a gorgeous bobbing bassline and consistent drum rhythm. The top line synths interplay with each other and create a wall of sound while pure 90’s pad sings its song “Illuminate” This track has the slowest vibe on the EP and is almost hypnotic in its delivery. These are real songs, with real meanings and are the the result of a pure and wonderful collaboration
The tracks tell a story, and with open ears and heart they will deliver the message clearly “Sympathy” A very acoustic sounding drum and percussion arrangement held together with glorious B12 esq Pads is the opener here. The vocals elevate this track to another level, with a dangerous equilibrium of vulnerability and distain. “Shotgun” Straight in with a heavy synth baseline and lyrics. A menacing track featuring a vocal that floats effortlessly on a downtempo B12 vibe. An exposed interplay of rhythmic melodies and dark imagery. “Moth” A busy beat and synth driven backdrop provide the platform for Yonii to tell her story of love and pain. Is it all in Vain? Bauri has been releasing tracks on labels such as Drumcode, Neo Ouija, Sloboda, Random Island and is known to cross various styles of electronic music. The EP entitled Vinkelvolten showcases Bauri’s form of techno on a platform that; as promised; will diversify and show consistency. This EP takes us on a journey built around gorgeous sounds and crisp abstract beats to a place calmness and peace. Originally part of Bauri’s 2nd album that never got released due to the slow down in the IDM scene; these tracks have matured like a fine wine for 12 years; and now are on a 12” released by B12. “Warm Fuzzy Feeling” A stunning baseline wraps the listener up into a hypnotic loving hug while strings and beats take us on a journey of peace and calm.
“Kirmumxyl” Abstract beats and voice like accompaniments conjure up images of a place of loneliness but calm; inspired by Swedish ambient artist Tupilaq.
“Vinkelvolten I” The title track - its again built around abstract sounding beats with a wonderful every present top line; disjointed in nature but creates a sense of calm that is ever present in this EP.

Established in Ireland in the early 90’s Derek has released many ground breaking and classic EPS for labels such as 'For Those That Knoe’, 'Revoke' & 'Why So Series'.
Born and raised in Westmeath, Ireland, Derek got an early taste for finely crafted melodic techno through compilations like Network’s ‘Bio-Rhythms’ and Warp’s ‘Pioneers of the Hypnotic Groove’. Having been a fan of bands such as Kraftwerk and Depeche Mode through his formative years, Derek felt drawn to this new sound coming from Detroit.
In 2001 Derek launched his own label ‘Trident Recordings’ and released the ‘Copper Beech e.p.’ (the only release to date) a collection of deep soulful techno, it has since become something of a collector’s item. Subsequent releases on ‘Digital Soul’ 'Headspace' 'Nice & Nasty' and ‘Geek Records’ further cemented Carr’s place amongst a new generation of techno producers that looked to combine soul and melody with electronic dance floor grooves. The EP entitled Distant Systems is a musical adventure for a quest for a new home land, a new planet, a new start, It is proper techno; proper melodies , beats and pads for this adventure. Derek is a master at creating thoughtful emotive and simply wonderful techno that fits in so naturally on FireScope Records “Artifice 2” 808 drums and lush pads - what a perfect start - a track like this is perfect like this …. But then … the Baseline drops; it embeds itself into what back drop as we wait for what happens next, “Terrahawk” An otherworldly techno track. The usual elements are here but somehow they convert a story quite different to the norm “3 3 8 9” A amazing baseline in this track seems to speak as it conveys must more than just notes, the expression conjures up some strange alien dialect as real emotive strings/pads/beats wrap themselves around it “East is East” I don’t know what to write about this track other than it is perfection and I wish I wrote it - Steve R Finished in glorious marble vinyl with exclusive full colour artwork by the amazing J. Although B12 output has been the solo work of Steven since 2015-2017, this time he steps outside of the B12 name and releases under his own name. One of the founders of UK Techno, he has released on labels such as Warp Records UK, B12 Records, Soma Records, Delsin Records, FireScope Records, ART , Buzz and De:Tuned. The EP entitled “From Me To You” is all about the sharing and passing on of feelings and emotions from another place. It touches on sadness, joy and gratitude. “Down And Down” is a Sombre Title: where is down and down to where? Don’t be fooled into thinking that this is another journey into darkness. This track is pure and glorious uplifting Techno but once again with an alter-ego of melancholy. A pensive string/pad line underpins the track, which is dominated by a glorious slide riff that takes the helm and propels it forward. “Decliner Box” is manic depression in a music form. A very simple tune, it’s about mental decline with some nifty 808 programming. It is so simple and sounds like ‘anyone could do this’ yet in conjunction with the moody pads, really captures the imagination and drifts you away. “The Life Giver” is dedicated to the life giver and “a power greater than me”. It has Rutter’s trademark quirky drum programming, a strong feature of the producer’s current output these past 2 years. Crunchy and but with a siren to the heavens throughout with pads and slide riffs interwoven, it becomes a tune of hope and emotion. “The Battle Continues” is the third instalment in the “Battle” series of tracks with its predecessors being “Battle Within” on FireScope 001 and “Battle Deep Within” on Touched - Music for Macmillian Cancer Support 35. This time, “The Battle Continues” is a tune of two parts. Slow moving and very deep drums and percussion with emotive synth parts take us to the first part of this ride. Around 3:20, phase two begins with a soundscape that reminds one of being on some kind of train journey of human suffering -- a train to a very dark place. Finished in glorious yellow and white splatter vinyl with exclusive full colour artwork by Steven’s wonderful friend, Sarah Sparkes.

After having released two albums on Zyntax Motorcity and EPs on labels such as Central Processing Unit, Cultivated Electronics, Emotions Electric and Abstract Forms, Morphology’s third album continues their intensive deep-space exploration at the intersection of electronic/electro music and scientific discovery.
Awash in the beautiful sounds of hardware-derived music direct from Morphology’s command center, the album takes listeners into their skilfully crafted universe. Each track is a new world in itself of crisp beats, deep basslines and melancholic melodies. Interspersing the frenetic pace of hyper-speed travel with ethereal landings, ‘Traveller’ isan intergalactic trip without taking off your headphones.
The radio static of ‘Distant Signal’ mysteriously invites you to tune into an otherworldly frequency. You select ‘Y’ and hit enter to get to ’Second Light’, its fluttering arp work and foreboding bassline taking travellers to the next higher dimension.
You land on the planet ’Farthest Regions’ with a touch of the Orient and misty atmosphere surrounds. A contemplative mood settles in before you take off again with ‘Hidden Variable’, its haunting sustained pads and adrenaline-fuelled beats signalling both thrill and danger.
The ambient atmospherics ’Memory Fragments’ flings one lost into space for a brief interlude, before ‘Detached’ and ‘Pod Bay 8’ gears back in warp speed mode. The combined energetics of Intricate breakbeat drum patterns, fierce basslines and spacey cold atmospherics deliver the album’s dancefloor apex.
‘Bipolar Nebula’ soars up to further stratospheric heights and a soft landing while the intelligent brain dance ’Kernel Method’ gives one to the head-nodders. The lingering final track ‘Deuteros’ algorithmically skips, taps and signs out on what has been an out of this world sonic adventure — from faraway lands to abstract spatial dimensions and beyond. released June 4, 2018

The second credited solo release from Rutter, it signals another step away from B12 as he steadily builds on a singular vision of work under his own name. With previous releases on labels such as Warp, Soma, Delsin, ART, Buzz and De:Tuned, one of the original founders of UK techno is guided inward for this collection of 12 brand new tracks.
Developed over 2 years, these tracks have previously appeared in his numerous solo live shows but are presented here for the first time as one complete narrative.
The album, titled ‘BrainFog’, is the creative and spiritual catharsis of a journey beginning circa 2010, which saw the producer on a hospital bed, hours away from an ascent to the heavens and subsequently depressed and anxious while seeking liberation and escape through music.
The daily battle with darkness continues today and this album is his emotions laid bare.
Hauntingly beautiful in its fog-filled melancholy; it’s our pilot’s only solace on the lone flight to recovery. The opening track, ‘Sleep Gives Freedom’ is a slow, risky start for an album but pays tribute to that safe place which one can escape from everything that surrounds.
Put this on to escape and be lulled into a walk through the fog.
The following track ‘Statuesque’ stands tall as a classic techno tune — a stomper with lush strings, tough beats and a bassline that shouts loud and proud.
Emotional and heartfelt with a smattering of percussion, ’Memories of You’ is written for a best friend, an orbiting soul who is now light years from earth. Throughout the album, the clouds of despair and decay are never far away, interspersed with bright but fleeting moments of lightness and hope.
‘Cracked Reality’ slightly disturbs with its sparse and pounding construction, before the decaying beauty of ‘Degenerator’ and its mirroring track, ‘Oracle Unleashed’, offer two perspectives to the same theme.
‘Squad Free Force’ throws back to early hip hop with its old school drums topped with an eerie spin and warmly wrapped in heavensent pads.
The album’s two quirkier compositions come in the form of ’Infinity Engine’ and ‘Takedown’.
With a pure 909 techno sound, ‘Infinity Engine’’s incredible pads offer a path from sadness to elation and happiness.
A different live version may be released later in the year.
‘Takedown’’s chuggy sideways groove further breaks it down — no matter who or where you are; there is always someone somewhere that wants to bring you down, sometimes it’s yourself. The album’s last track, ‘Hand in Hand’ is probably the most upbeat of the album, and a call to take the hand of the one that is there for you, whether in physical or spirit form.
The drums and pads start the track off, before a disjointed sliding bassline sets the scene for a top-line string.
Euphoric and uplifting, it is a reminder to respectfully embrace all that which remains good in the world.
As a punctuation mark, the final note of the track is a full stop that puts an end to the journey from brain fog to clear heart. I give all that I am to this musical force that burns with me. Finished in two different coloured vinyl a/b and c/d in a wonderful
gatefold featuring the artwork of Sarah Sparkes. released April 2, 2018

Labyrinth a lush techno vibe with a marching drum; a song about the twists and turns of our own minds; leading into Grmi Seva where a balkan vibe built around a conflict themed remake of a
Yugoslavian children’s song continues our journey. The last track on Side A 'Till The End Of The World is a very downtempo affair where a baseline provides the underpinning for Karla to tell her tale of a

Celestial chords and star gazing synthwork permeate this ten track odyssey.
The musical heritage of Shima’s hometown, the elegance, majesty and subtlety of British electronics, is invoked from the needle drop.
A range of influences come to the fore in this 2LP.
Skirting around the edges of astral ambience and tonal texture are nods to industrial history, the rasp and resonance of rhythms in “Empires”, with the inspiration of Detroit surfacing in the future funk of “Phase Distortion” and “Linear.”
Dreamscapes are painted in delicate hues, the fragile movements of “Accepting”, with brooding works adopting thicker basslines and ruffled notes as with “Distrust.”
Nevertheless, it is the incandescent brightness of Lonely Machine that truly shines.
Radiant pieces of elating electronics, complex and joyful compositions that chime with unbridled hope and open-hearted optimism released June 17, 2019
