It is focused on atmospheric audio experiences and field recording productions, specialising in electronic music variations of ambient & drone, deep & dub techno, minimal, experimental & acoustic. As indicated by its name, our central music theme is the forest, layered with a sound engine made from field recordings, taken on numerous trips through the mystical woods that touch our heart and soul by a deeper level of connection and devotion. It's all about the nature's entity which speaks to us and tells us where we should be, which signs we should follow and which paths we are about to walk. And it is about listening, watching and exploring, both to the forest and our heart, being one with nature, far away from civilization where no wanderer has ever been seen and where nature is still untouched by human hands. All field recordings have been taken from metaphysical charged places with deepest passion and love for the moment, regardless of whether these samples are short loops or long tracks, decisive is the time and the place. All moments are unique and will never be the same again. It is like going into epic details on and on, because nature, especially forest, gives us more than we can ever comprehend. Thus we (re)use our field recordings in a myriad of ways, mostly for rhythm components and essential background elements. The music of Forest Roots has its own organic source code, except for the synthesizers which represent the only artifical sound generators in our music in order to amplify the mood, the story and the musical expression. The label defines itself as a portal of the nature's voice, whispering to us in many ways. The most intense forms are sounds and pictures, and in addition to the music, we have our own photography equipment to catch the moments and the messages from the aether. Photography is an important aspect of our label and essential for our inspiriation, extending through all releases. Forest Roots consists of Nemo & Jaymon, both owners of the label and producers at the same time. Although each with a different career history, they decided to go a very own way together. Nemo, also known as 'The Nautilus Project', who produced at various labels such as ZeECc, Entropy, Ornaments and Confineless Recordings, established his own typical sound on different physical and digital formats since 2008. Along the way, he gained much inspiration from the involvement in numerous collaborative projects. Jaymon, whose career started with DJing, initially released his first associated vinyl at Mancha Recordings in 2009. From then on he participated in several projects, including remixes for The Nautilus Project at Entropy Records and Confineless Recordings on physical media and digital platforms. With 2014, the label was delighted to welcome Jeremy Clarke, the British-born poet, as poet in residence. His graceful voice and contemporary word art are unqiue and everything a music composer could wish for; we feel very fortunated to have him at our side and are blessed to involve his prose and vocals into our productions. In order to materialize very own music for subtle senses without any external influences or constraints, Forest Roots has been launched in October 2012, rooted in the mystical forests of southern Lusatia. The Nautilus Project - Back To Civilization (5:43) The Nautilus Project presents his newest release "Excursions", which is also his most personal so far. It was previously scheduled on the Other Heights Label and later cancelled there - now, it is the initial release on "Forest Roots", which was planned, founded and launched by The Nautilus Project and Jaymon far in advance and kept in secrecy until its offical announcement. The mastermind of this work exhibits his first complete Ambient/Drone composition on the Forest Roots. This tribute to nature gives a reflection of journeys made by the artist, wandering around in his favourite natural hide-outs and becoming lost within its impressiveness, before returning to the day-to-day reality of civilization. It opens a fabolous new world of music and visions, embedded into a big story, never produced that way by TNP before - shaped and formed into a massive mixture of deep evolving layers and obsessive arrangements, powered by a strange lovecraftian atmosphere and a lurking, unseen presence of nature, where no wanderer has ever been seen. This Release is TNP's deepest hour, and you are invited to take part on this adventure by a length of around 79 mins, built up and reduced to the maximum of emotions. released April 30, 2013 FRCD001 - "Excursions" Written & Produced by Marcel "Nemo" Frehse at Wanderer's Refuge Mastered by Sergey Kosov Made in Germany 2010 - 2011 © Forest Roots 2013 ----------------------- foobar2000 1.2.5 / Замер динамического диапазона (DR) 1.1.1 Tracklist:

Jaymon - Waldrausch (6:29) Nemo & Jaymon, both owners of the "Forest Roots" label, present their first official collaboration, called "Seasons", the second release on the Lusatia-based imprint after its long-desired “Excursions” CD by The Nautilus Project. The creators of this album, both in close touch with nature, produced a secret pearl of forestian music for devoted wanderers, a new and unprecedented journey into the mystical territory of the german forests, hidden somewhere in the heart of Europe. As the title says, the whole idea behind this composition is the passing of the seasons, but not simple as that. It's all about listening, watching and exploring, healing and feeling with nature through the shift of times, and no environment could be deeper than an old forest with untrodden paths, metaphysical charged places and sounds from unknown spheres, where old druids and wary wizards might have walked through the gleaming underwoods. The album materialized as a final reflection of a 12-months-touring-adventure by Nemo & Jaymon, catching and processing all experiences, pictures, moods and sounds with field recordings into a musical form of audible pleasure. Rarely under 7 hours per hike, we used to dive entirely into the being of nature with all our wide-opened senses, switching off the day-to-day reality, going very closely into every little detail of the forest and thereby deeper into our story. The main focus is always on working with field recordings, so it doesn't wonder that every percussion and any further track element was directly taken from the forest (with just a few exceptions), either left as recorded - or changed beyond all recognition, always keeping its organic structure without any artificial sound generator. A huge database of unique extracts and essences began to rise, carefully selected place recordings, where something significant happened. Every single track went through a lot of audio processing and post-production steps, compiling them into a new form of musical perception, simply strengthened by moving melodies from synthesizers and meaningfully placed effects. Jaymon, himself rooted in Dub/Dubstep & Minimal, used his creative potential to work out all the details very straightly, focusing on experimentally manipulated sound structures. Nemo, better known as The Nautilus Project, fulfilled his part of the release as the mindful wanderer with more melodic stuff and melancholic visions, placed into the area of Deep Techno, Ambient & Drone. Seen overall, this release is a perfect mixture for everyone, ranging between gently moving sounds, pulsating structures, deeply touching melodies, playful minimalism, easy listening and proper german techno music with all its different influences. Note: to keep its intentional mood and the depth of words, "Seasons” was made in german language only. In order to avoid long tedious investigations for the most perfect translation, we offer you the international english track titles: Nemo - The Heart Of The Forest Jaymon - The Old Crossing Nemo - The Path Jaymon - The Lonely Tree Nemo - The Mount Jaymon - Off The Trails Nemo - Through The Underwood Jaymon - Autumn Dream Nemo - In The Deep Winter Forest Jaymon - Forest Noise released October 10, 2013 FRCD002 - "Seasons" Written & Produced by Nemo & Jaymon at Forest Roots Mastered by Sergey Kosov Made in Germany 2012 - 2013 © Forest Roots 2013 ----------------------- foobar2000 1.2.5 / Замер динамического диапазона (DR) 1.1.1 Tracklist:

The Nautilus Project - Rain In The Forest (14:01) 15. The Nautilus Project - Snow In The Forest (14:03) 16. The Nautilus Project - Pulse Of Nature (10:35) It has been a while since this album was finished. It was arranged and recorded between 2010 and 2011 during a longer time period of important changes and new reflections, which resulted in a new direction of The Nautilus Project's music in general. With the first physical release, called "Backdrift To Sea", and its follower "Operations" on ZeECc, the main intention was all about dubtechno music, bounded to nautical and oceanic themes. But then something significant happened: Nemo begun to explore new territories of music, because some inner changes in his heart, his mind and his music had started to cumulate, resulting in a new kind of a (positive) step back to his roots, to his love and interests for nature (especially forests) and secluded natural environments - therefore its amplified views and feelings in music, making it possible for others to experience all that by listening to his new creations. Much room were given to nature and its deeper connections, so it was no suprise that The Nautilus Project started to work in areas where he was mostly related to and within energies, which become intense more and more, resulting in the long awaited ambient/drone work, named "Excursions", which was finally released on the own Forest Roots label. It was the precise materialization of isolated landscapes and their mystical undertones of druidic, hermetic and epic energies in ambient/drone music, Nemo's supreme discipline. Before and inbetween all that, "Drowning in Nature" was recorded as a transition from the old straight dubtechno style to a newer, more sensitive style. It has been taken a long time to keep it under the surface and it waited more than 2 years to become unveiled, which wasn't helped by the fact that it was postponed silently several times and designd as a double CD release. We are nothing without nature, and we should always keep in mind, that, when nature isn't anymore, we will also disappear. It is our holy duty to save that circle of life, it's all about meditation and not to get lost in this modern age of ugliness and greed. Please never forget, when you walk through a forest, hearing the leaves under your feet amidst the shady trees, and remember with every little snowflake. By listening to this release, you are with me, and I am with you. Your purchase is also a return of energy, which flows back to nature with love & thankfulness, because it was never possible to realize these compositions without nature. Again, it is a great honour to have some great remixers engaged, and so we welcome Hieronymus, Dublicator, Kabana, Gradient and Upwellings to celebrate this new release. released November 17, 2013 FRD001 - "Drowning in Nature" Written & Produced by Marcel "Nemo" Frehse at Forest Roots Mastered by Sergey Kosov Made in Germany 2010 - 2011 © Forest Roots 2013 ----------------------- foobar2000 1.2.5 / Замер динамического диапазона (DR) 1.1.1 Tracklist:

01. Jaymon - The Awoken Forest (Spring's Return) (25:12) 02. Nemo - The Remembering Forest (Late Summer Melancholy) (22:20) 03. Jaymon - The Colorful Forest (Autumn Breeze) (14:05) 04. Nemo - The Sleeping Forest (A Winter Tale) (34:59) Initially planned as a short interlude between two full albums, "Forestscapes" went totally out of the source concept and suddenly became a longplayer. The main idea was to create a short EP with an emphasis on decent synthesizer soundscapes and colorful field recordings in the style of old vintage tapes and early ambient/drone cassette productions. Well, things aren't all that simple. In addition to the continuous tales of our wanderings and recordings, we started to produce a sub-plot focused on individual perceptions of the seasons in the forest with our very own views, and what's better than developing all those numerous impressions to a different kind of an album, consisting of four chapters? In this way we were able to materialize a special longplayer in our preferred format of storytelling, associated with childhood memories and vintage music impressions: on cassette. "Forestscapes" contains four tracks, meaning one track for spring, summer, autumn and winter. It starts with a spacious and experimental ambient track about spring made by Jaymon, followed by a melancholic late summer vision with epic choir and pad textures from Nemo, going on with a brighter and more colorful piece about autumn, again made by Jaymon, and finally culminating into a deep winter tale - a perfect mixture of three installed parts, combining the Nautilus Project's drone sound (like in "Excursions") with Nemo's ambient sound, and in the middle of it a wonderful and dreamy short story of field recordings with winter noise and environment soundscapes, all of them taken in winter 2012 - 2013. The case was made from stylish natural card and with printed front and back covers, the cassette shell has been manufactured in Canada in warm light-brown color and with printed labels. Additionally, this release contains a bonus download of a Forest Root's digital album, printed as download code on an inlay card with stamped Forest Roots logo. released November 29, 2014 FRMC001 - "Forestscapes" Written & Produced by Nemo & Jaymon at Forest Roots Mastered by Sergey Kosov Made in Germany 2014 © Forest Roots 2014 ----------------------- foobar2000 1.2.5 / Замер динамического диапазона (DR) 1.1.1 Tracklist:

Nemo & Jaymon - Der Wanderweg [Xoki's Dub Staza Version] (7:42) 28. Nemo & Jaymon - Sonnenuntergang (16:55) The entire production of "Wanderings" started immediately after the "Seasons" longplayer and was made over a period of two years. Additionally, "Forestscapes" was produced inbetween as a sort of subchapter to have a transition to new album. None of us imagined this huge amount of stories and what would come to us during that time, it was impossible to stop half-way and so we continued with everything until we felt it was right. Ultimately, it led to this epic collection of tracks, and so it happend that "Wanderings" transformed into the longest journey on Forest Roots so far. During the production of "Seasons" it became obvious that not yet everything has been said through the sounds we used there. It was a natural process to get into the project files again and so we went through the experiences one more time. Beforehand and during the production of "Forestscapes", we gained new knowledge and further ideas for our recording and arranging methods, with an emphasis on the deeper structures of our natural environment and its divine entities. All that was surrounding and accompanying us, speaking to us, leading us to every place through our inner voice. It felt like communicating with the intermediate worlds. Thus it came that "Wanderings" gained a much more intense sound engine with a kind of a special otherworldly mood, which isn't exactly to capture and to describe in words. This effect is also reinforced by our use of the lower sound ranges in a lot of the tracks, so the sound comes along much deeper and even stronger than on "Seasons". Plus, due to our side projects and the continuous sound development, we worked on new textures and structures. We mixed our earlier field recordings with the newer pieces and brought them together into a new context by a better signal processing in order to recreate the key message and the moment's mood of the associated sacred places and their metaphysical energies. We further put attention to mystical and spiritual aspects, both for the nature and the human being, and there is also a certain melancholy which speaks out of this release. "Wanderings" itself is a journey to yourself through a spiritual world of nature, where civilization is left behind. It is a very colorful path, full of sound and taste and sense. But even if it includes some melancholic memories of things that never can be brought back into here and now, you will be rewarded with rich inner experience while listenting to this album. The order of the tracks on both CD's describes the spiritual journey in its different phases and some of the most important places we've visited during our tours. Each track name has been carefully chosen due to its own little story. All of them together shape the complete release like a book of two chapters, evenly distributed on two CD's, one for each year. The complete release is primarily located in the fields of ambient & deep techno in combination with tribal/drone/experimental elements and some oldskool dubtechno influences here and there. This huge work is further decorated and enriched by manifold remixers we are proud to have on Forest Roots and who bring some colorful additions with their works to this production - all in their very own ways, as well as we know them: Xoki & Hieronymus (both from the famous Kyoto_digital netlabel) and Christian Dittmann (well known from Thinner, Echocord, Rrygular). We also proudly welcome Docetism, the mystical ambient/dub-influenced artist from Poland, who is famous for his incredible works on his own Nichts netlabel - and also for the first time D.Structure from Germany, the solo side-project of Zero in Something with deep house releases on Etoka Records and Mancha Recordings, where they had a collaboration with Jaymon. "Wanderings" comes in two versions, differing in its content, but both in high quality on industrial standard pressed CD format. Also included for all versions of "Wanderings" is the promotional trailer as bonus download item. The mastering was again brilliantly made by no less than Sergey Kosov, our good friend and mastering engineer from the depths of Russia. released December 21, 2015 FRCD003 - "Wanderings" Written & Produced by Nemo & Jaymon at Forest Roots Mastered by Sergey Kosov Made in Germany 2013 - 2015 © Forest Roots 2015 ----------------------- foobar2000 1.2.5 / Замер динамического диапазона (DR) 1.1.1 Tracklist:
01. Nemo & Jaymon - Jahreszeiten (50:15) "Jahreszeiten" is a post-work to "Wanderings" and a last look back to the time and the seasons we went through during its production period. We recorded this track in one take with the most important sounds of the double album and everything culminated in this epic ambient piece, brought together as a simultaneous nonstop mix from three computers with different settings, sounds and field recordings. This work tells a coherent story as if one would go through the seasons from spring to winter, brought together into a single chapter. All sound elements were brought into this mix spontaneously and live during the recording, all that from a rough concept from the beginning to the end. It is a mindful story to remember, how seasons change throughout the year. "Jahreszeiten" is a separate track in the full length of a third CD and belongs to the "Wanderings" release thematically. It comes exclusively in digital format and is included for free for all orderers of the Collector's Edition. For those who ordered the Standard Edition of "Wanderings", it is purchasable as an additional track. released December 21, 2015 FRD004 - "Jahreszeiten" Written & Produced by Nemo & Jaymon at Forest Roots Mastered by Sergey Kosov Made in Germany 2015 © Forest Roots 2015 ----------------------- foobar2000 1.2.5 / Замер динамического диапазона (DR) 1.1.1 Tracklist:
01. Jaymon - Soundtrack for the Seasons (28:45) Everytime we prepare our next release on Forest Roots, we look back into the past where we came from, what we did and what is worth to resume. Sometimes we feel not yet everything had been said in a release before, sometimes we think a variation or a useful addition would make sense. But most of the time, it's all about the inspiration of the story and its theme, the memories of that period and occasionally not being able to let it go as it is. This sometimes produces a situation where we either take some sounds for the following release and process them further, or we integrate them into an additional side-release outside our usual series as we did it with "Forestscapes". In this case, Jaymon returned to the "Seasons" theme for one last time and built an extraordinary ambient version of all his "Seasons" tracks where he reduced the whole content to the most essential minimum. Basically, this mix was concepted as an audio track for his own "Seasons" trailer which always followed to the "Wandered Seasons" motion picture performance as a finisher during our live acts. The trailer then became available in two different versions on our Youtube channels including his footage material and the song: initially as a four part version on his site (one part for each season), and later as a full single version on the Forest Roots channel. Productionwise, Jaymon just took all the original send and return channels of his "Seasons" tracks and mixed them together with his very own effect components to a very basic, but pure and spacious soundtrack with an emphasis on field recordings and natural environments. The whole piece comes along very densely and relaxing, but is probably even deeper from another point of view. released November 22, 2016 FRD005 - "Soundtrack for the Seasons" Written & Produced by Jaymon at Forest Roots Mastered by Sergey Kosov Made in Germany 2013 © Forest Roots 2016 ----------------------- foobar2000 1.2.5 / Замер динамического диапазона (DR) 1.1.1 Tracklist:
01. Nemo & Jaymon - Wanderzeit (59:11) "Wanderzeit" is, just as it was with "Jahreszeiten" for the "Wanderings" album, also a long post-work in the form of a non-stop recording for the "Landscapes" album and virtually symbolizes an additional part in the length of another CD, but it can also be enjoyed on its own as a single piece. With reference to the corresponding "Landscapes" album, some of its most beautiful sounds and samples from other tracks have been brought together again in a single long mix that reimagines another story of a wandering through the seasons, including unprocessed and previously unused field recordings. All this was done in an even bigger live setup than in "Jahreszeiten", with a main computer and two laptops, three mixers, several effects devices and various Yamaha / Korg / Roland synthesizers, all of which were connected in parallel and ran in sync at the same time. It is only available in digital format and is supplied free of charge with a download code for everyone who ordered the "Landscapes" CD. released September 29, 2020 FRD006 - "Wanderzeit" Written & Produced by Nemo & Jaymon at Forest Roots Mastered by Sergey Kosov Made in Germany 2019 © + ℗ Forest Roots 2020 ----------------------- foobar2000 1.2.5 / Dynamic Range Meter 1.1.1 Tracklist:

Nemo & Jaymon - Auf dem Dorf [Soaked Oak Dub by Coppice Halifax] (14:58) 14. Nemo & Jaymon - Durch verwilderte Gärten [Submersion Reprocess] (12:49) So many things have happened since the previous CD release of "Wanderings", and so much time has passed since then. The musical path and the label's perspective has also changed, expanded and deepened. So let's take one last look back together: "Wanderings" was filled with so many tracks that more pieces would have simply gone beyond the scope, and we can say that it was the album with the most pieces for the foreseeable future because we had a lot to tell at the time, especially because of its theme, which runs like a red thread through the entire release. After this album was completed, we didn't moved on the next one immediately. In addition to some personal changes in both of our lives, after this huge publication, it was time to collect new material and take more time for ourselves. There were also changes in the music hardware and in the approach to completing tracks, which in turn influenced the perspective and direction of the follow-up album. This resulted in a production that, in contrast to the two previous albums, was a little more open than usual, because now the overall concept of "homeland", whose relationship to Forest Roots is very strong, in the form of wider and more open spaces and areas flowed into the release. The most beautiful term that could bring everything together in one album in this form was: "Landscapes" - which was not only visually and mentally much more open, but also enabled us to expand our roots a little further. By "homeland" we mean our beloved Upper Lusatia, a beautiful region that has belonged to Bohemia (today's upper part of the Czech Republic) for the longest time in its 1000 year history, and the rest of the time to Prussia and to Saxony (until today). This very varied and also different landscape has its own rustic and mystical magic and attraction, which we cannot escape, as it is part of many of the memories and inspirations that we summarize in this album. However, the production of the individual tracks for this album did not progress as quickly as for the other two albums. Not only because of various personal circumstances in both of our lives and an associated break, but also because of the collection and renewal of material, the time window of production has expanded to almost 5 years. At the same time, the trilogy of Seasons/Wanderings/Landscapes inevitably comes to an end. The openness of this new album in relation to the landscapes around is at the same time a process of letting go and opening up to new things. There are of course melancholy moods and memories that can be found again in the album, but it is not dominated by it and everything is more natural without losing the impressions of depth and the different levels of nature as we normally portray them. The journey begins with the path into the depths of nature, and only the sky is the limit. As far as the eye can see, as far as the feet can carry, a stroll through mountains and valleys, through enchanted forests and overgrown gardens, across fields and meadows, along a lake in the morning all the way back into the forest at night and the distant impressions of the village. As before, this album is supported by our good friends and remix mates Xoki & Hieronymus, who, like Coppice Halifax, have written great new versions of our pieces. We are also very happy to welcome the very talented music artist Submersion as a new guest contributor to our label, whose hypnotic works are also unparalleled in the scene. The plot of these three albums, which was also strongly characterized by retrospectives and childhood memories of certain places in a narrower context, will flow seamlessly into broader ideas and approaches in the future, which will also grow with the age of our Forest Roots label. With the end of this album, Nemo & Jaymon set out on new areas to explore. In the future there will be one or the other review in the form of a small release, but there are also other albums pending that are just waiting to see the light of day. released October 10, 2020 FRCD004 - "Landscapes" Written & Produced by Nemo & Jaymon at Forest Roots Mastered by Sergey Kosov Made in Germany 2015 - 2020 © + ℗ Forest Roots 2020 ----------------------- foobar2000 1.2.5 / Dynamic Range Meter 1.1.1 Tracklist:

Jaymon - Am Flussufer [Spigl Remix] (6:17) As a bonus to our 'Landscapes' album, we are adding another small follower release and dare to look back on the past few years with a focus on some tracks from our previous albums, such as 'Seasons', 'Forestscapes' and 'Wanderings'. The result is an album that only contains remixes, through which we heartly welcome new artists to our label: Orson Throb, wzrdryAV, Playpad Circus, Aura Minimum and Spigl, as well as the always reliable and well-known Coppice Halifax with whom there has already been several collaborations. We wanted to let things run their own course a little more and set new accents again by selecting certain past pieces. The most exciting thing about remixes is always how the participating artists rework and re-represent our point of view from their own perspective, how they deal with the existing source material and how the moods and impressions can change and still somehow remain the same ... only different, in their own way. It's all about the changes of sound, like mutations in our natural environment. Of course, certain musicians were specially selected for the tracks because of their very own style. The result is again a very colorful compilation of remixes that vary between brighter and darker sounds of ambient, dubtechno, broken beats, abstract and detroit. With this album we say goodbye to 2020 and look forward to the future. released November 28, 2020 FRD008 - "Mutations" Written & Produced by Nemo & Jaymon at Forest Roots Mastered by Sergey Kosov Made in Germany 2020 © + ℗ Forest Roots 2020 ----------------------- foobar2000 1.2.5 / Dynamic Range Meter 1.1.1 Для того, чтобы скачать .torrent Вам необходимо зарегистрироваться |
