Veteran DJ with many years on the wheels of steel as DJDG!, he has been producing for some years now. From the start, he has developed his own dark, techno and IDM influenced brand of electro with tracks such as "Pi", on the ELEKTRODOS The Compilation Vol. 2 release, as well as many other mathematically themed masterpieces. This musical mathematician delivers a 4 track EP titled "Funaphy", a work true to the goals of his Sigma Algebra project, that encompasses electro, with a taste of techno and a definite flavor of IDM. DBP is a collaborative project between 2 artists, who each contribute one of their tracks, and a remix of the other artist's track, giving us a 4 track EP that is the presentation of the styles and sounds of both artists, as well as a Gestalt construct of both, through the remixes, in a unique sound which is the product of their musical collaboration. The first installment comes from prolific Spanish producer, DJ and boss of the eclectic Urban Connections label Amper Clap, together with Robyrt Hecht, German producer, DJ and boss of the excellent YUYAY records label. Amper Clap's "Desolation" is fast paced and synth heavy, in purist AC style, with a lead melody that is on the fringe of out of tune, and the characteristic, well organized structure that this breaks, hardcore (as Sudden Shock) and electro producer lays on his tracks. "Time to Shift" characterizes the cold mathematical producer that is Robyrt Hecht, with beautifully built up pads and atmospheres, and ice cold computer voices over crystaline electro beats. The mutual remixes make this a unique EP. Robyrt Hecht's rework of Amper clap's "Desolation" becomes even faster, closing in on elegant electro techno, with polished melodies and vocoded vocals from Robyrt Hecht's freezer. Amper Clap takes the track by Robyrt Hecht, and heats things up with a electro breaks beats, thicker synths and cowbells. He released his first EP on Mexican pure-blood electro label Mision 115, and has been putting out a steady stream of the quality deep electro that has since become his personal style, on labels such as the Japanese Anti Gravity Device, English Borg Recordings and Spanish Urban Connections. On this release, he brings 6 tracks to the electro market that will surely leave an impact. Opening track "Factory System" is industrial electro at its finest: texture through machine noise and eerie atmospheric pads. On "Fake Personality", he takes a cleaner route, with melodic pads over curated beats. "Petrichor" is a mellow electro track, with a deep bassline and typically M3taN01a-style synthlines that tell a melodic story, before going back into the fold with fast and deep, almost Drexciyan "Stupid", full of deep sea reverb and unsettling sound effects. Diode Bridge #2 sees Spanish producer Sigma_Algebra team up with Dutch electro sensation RXmode, to deliver a thundering progressive electro release with exquisite IDM influences. “Below” is a track forged in the depths of RXmode’s studio. RXmode is the alias of Dutch producer Ronald Hustinx, who burst onto the scene with his Bass Agenda Recordings release “Red Cards” in 2015, giving new meaning to progressive electro. His overwhelming sound has really taken shape over the “Transhumanism” releases that followed, and now he joins the Elektrodos family with this banger. His rework of the Sigma_Algebra track “Fuzzy Sets” is 8 minutes of dark, brooding and driving electro, a perfect blend of both artists’ styles. Sigma_Algebra is the Spanish DJ and producer Eduard Jiménez, aka djdg!, a DJ since the 90s. His Sigma_Algebra moniker starts in 2012, when he really gets into producing electro and idm tracks. Since then, he’s released EPs on Japanese imprint Anti Gravity Device and on Italian Digital Distortions. On this release, Sigma_Algebra brings “Below” into the realm of IDM inspired electro, with finicky blips and bleeps over a crisp beat that gives new structure to the rich pads and ambience of the original track. His own “Fuzzy Sets” features a dry beat, tiny artifacts and rich atmospheric pads, which progressively grow ever more complex in a truly Sigma_Algebra intelligent dance electro fusion style. Started in 2010, Hissarlik was originally a duo. As it evolved, the project gathered influence from Belgian electronic music from the eighties, and minimal techno. Now a solo project, Hissarlik went on to remix for artists such as New Neon, Synthetic Form, Psychosomatik or Vuduvox. The “Infectious EP” is a 3 track EP that is a near perfect mix of electro and the cold wave and techno influences that shaped the sound of Hissarlik. The title track “Infectious” is icy and brooding, an unmistaken dark electro rework of an originally cold wave track that hasn’t had its like in recent years. “Raw” is what the title promises: a dark, unforgiving track. It is not hard to really get into that pure electro vibe that was brought forth by the likes of Anthony Rother, Claro Intellecto and the other great revivalists of the late 90s, early 2000s, when you press play on his Planet Unknown EP. The “Planet Unknown EP” is coming this Halloween, and opens with Voyager, a synth lead laden space tune to auger in the exploration of unknown reaches. Title track Planet Unknown is a harder hit, with vocoder vocals over classic melodies, with a retro feel that hard to deny. Value 1000 is a Kraftwerk legacy through Electruzik eyes and some very stylish classic bass lines that lead into classic Rotherian electro-spheres. The absolute killer track is Conquistador, a dark, synth-heavy and moody track with booming beats, that put an elegant close to a surprising journey through the electro of Electruzik.
