Each track released on Sector 12/12 will be thought provoking, profound or poignant. We are passionate about songs that take you on a journey and create emotion. Our aim is to curate a bank of timeless music. Sector 12/12 is the brainchild of Mr Shift who ran influential label TrebleO alongside Dominic Stanton (Domu, Umod, Zoltar, Rima, Sonar Circle). He helped now established acts like AD Bourke, Dorian Concept and Lukid to release some of their earlier material and was also one half of production outfit Yotoko who recorded for world famous techno label Delsin Records. Nimble) (4:28) Infest AKA Robbert Peperkamp has been producing since 2004 and is mainly known for delivering a string of highly emotive drum and bass tracks. This EP pushes his boundaries as an artist and sees Robbert stepping outside his comfort zone to deliver an excellent multi genre release that gives a perfect taste of what is coming from him in the future. Shades of Burial, The Black Dog and Boards of Canada can be heard echoing throughout the EP as the constant theme of floating through space bonds the EP together as one tight unit. On Under The Weather we see the welcome return of ground-breaking producer Domu AKA Dominic Stanton. It contains three contrasting tracks, one breakbeat, one four-four and one downtempo. The constant theme that runs throughout is GROOVE not BPM. Dominic has had previous releases on some of the world’s most influential electronic labels including Ninja Tune, Reinforced, Compost and 2000black. About this release: Sector 12/12 is the brainchild of Mr Shift who used to run influential label TrebleO alongside Dominic Stanton (Domu, Umod, Rima, Yotoko, Sonar Circle). It is therefore only right that this new label hosts the return of Shift’s creative partner and long time friend Domu. This three track EP encompasses everything the pair love about electronic music. Heavy hitting bass juxtaposed with sombre hardcore pads (Rain All Day VIP) through to Theo Parrish style pitched down house layered with vintage Photek bass (Sunshrine VIP). It wouldn’t be a Domu EP without a quirky hip hop instrumental (Rain Or Shine) so Dominic pulled this beat from the unreleased Umod archive. It could be argued that the structure and arrangements fall more in line with jazz than traditional techno. Mike manages to avoid the constraints of techno production and delivers natural yet unpredictable arrangements. Themes and moods change throughout taking you on a journey through Berlin via Detroit. This EP results in a wonderful excursion through the deepest depths of electronica and serves as the perfect introduction to Mike's sound. The climax will either leave you with an overwhelming sense of joy or one of utter despair. This EP is a more optimistic sounding set than past The Revenant Sea releases (a self titled debut on Auditory Field Theory and the ‘Terror From Space’ series on Simiman Sound), but its inspiration and themes remain consistent: our terrifying and beguiling universe. ’The Visitation’ shifts both The Revenant Sea and the listener into a landscape where there is a sense that in the end everything will be OK. A world where, maybe, there is hope. The album was available to purchase for one day only. A wildy ecelctic three track EP was subsequently released featuring tracks from the project. His recent On the Corner release "Candomblé" received support from Gilles Peterson and Tom Ravenscroft on BBC Radio 6. It was back in 2015 we released his bold ambient soundtrack "The Molly Brown Incident". We described it as audio science fiction born as a result of sleepless nights and an over active imagination. This serves as an unofficial sequel to that album. Instances of utter despair collide with moments of intense optimism as distorted voices, strange melodies and piercing drones illustrate one person’s tale of alien abduction and its aftermath. CHAS_S combines a series of short disturbing audio sketches which depict disjointed memories and wild experiments.
